Great STAPLE of Merrimack right off of Daniel Webster highway. This place has a full bar too , sat down for a beer and takeaway and got a chance to speak to Vas about the places 30 year history! Ordered 2 chicken gyros, one with fries. The staff was pleasant and friendly but the food... The gyros were inedible. $28 total and my wife threw hers away after one bite. I suffered through eating my gyro and, while I did not get sick, that's about the best i can say. The pita tasted like it was dipped in very old fryer grease used to cook haddock, definitely not a flavor that goes well with a gyro. The tzatziki, which I made the mistake of ordering an extra side just in case, was way too thick and more like cottage cheese than the loose light sauce it should be. The chicken was marinated but dry. The curly spicy fries were excellent, well seasoned and fried perfectly. The fries quality was such a harsh contrast to the remainder of my meal's that it was almost insulting. I visited mr G's once before a long time ago and recall they had the weirdest tasting buffalo chicken tenders. I likely won't try Me G's again as I fear it would only serve to downgrade my review further. read more

Mr. G's Pizza is a casual restaurant and bar with a takeout counter with open kitchen, dine-in seating section and a bar section on the other side of the partition, all in the same dim lit room. One of my local buddies used to come here for the booze with plenty of beer and the good looking female staff. The place has a younger staff, guys and gals who run the kitchen and the front of the house. The clientele I saw here were late 20 to 40 somethings, like my buddy. The menu offers pizza, calzones, pasta, subs, burgers, dinner plates, kids menu, and appetizers. The prices are fair. I stopped in here for some takeout on a Saturday night and ordered a small sausage pizza and a haddock sub special with chips. I watched the Red Sox on the TV while I waited for the food, which was ready in 15 minutes. I did run back in when I noticed the chips were not with the order. The pizza was alright, which had a thick edge dry crust topped with sliced sausage and modest amount of cheese, a bit greasy from the sausage. The haddock sub tasted fine, which had two pieces of deep fried breaded fish with lettuce, tomatoes, and tartar sauce on a firm sub roll. The bagged chips were Block & Barrel (Sysco). If you're looking for a convenient place to chill and have some drinks and apps before heading into Nashua or Manch with good looking staff, then Mr. G's is your place. The other pizza place nearby has better pizza, but does not have this kind of laid back bar atmosphere. Since my previous review was years ago, I'm writing an update. I still eat here very frequently (at least once every two weeks), usually as a take out order. The food is always good. As an additional point in Mr. G's favor, I recently recommended it as a source of food for a work lunch for my department, and apparently my boss is very picky about her pizza. Mr. G's is my go to place in Merrimack. I moved from Nashua to Merrimack 3 years ago and had to give up Nashua House of Pizza, and was so sad thinking I wouldn't find anything as a suitable replacement. Well not only is the food great - I personally love the chili cheese fries - but every time I go in, the girls at the front are so smiley and nice. Their pizza and subs are also really good, and I'm a real snob about sub rolls, and there's are soft but not mushy! Unfortunately, I can not review any of the food selections because I never got to order. I called Mr. G's four times at 645 PM on a Monday night. The first three times, I heard someone pick-up, then some banging and fumbling of the phone, and then I was disconnected...three times in a row. I waited a few minutes and called back. The female on the other end of the phone asked to put me on hold, and I said "sure". She must not have hit the "hold" button, because I could still hear taking in the background, including her taking two other orders over the phone. After waiting over six minutes, I was hung-up on/disconnected again. I'm sure they have caller I.D., but I did not receive a return phone call. TOP 3 worst slices I have ever had. Merrimack is filled with horrible pizza. It's pan pizza and I hate pan pizza but I go into any food with an open mind. Super oily, the dough had a nice crunch but the cheese and the sauce was amusement park quality. I was giving it a 1 but a 2 feels better. The staff was nice and the parking is easy. read more

I first visited Mr. G's 10 years ago, and I still try to stop by if I'm in the area. After the fire awhile back, they rebuilt, and the new restaurant is updated, clean, and pleasant. The menu is extensive for a pizza place and the food is always very good. My favorite is the chicken quesadilla, but everything I've had from Mr G's is great. I have ordered from Mr. G's far more then I'd care to admit and have been satisfied every time until tonight. I called in an order for a chicken finger dinner, a sub and mozzarella sticks. When the order arrives I realize it's missing the sub. Annoying? Yes but not the end of the world, mistakes happen. When I call to let them know it was missing, instead of trying to fix it I was told I was wrong and I didn't order the sub. Apparently my plans for tonight were to sit at the dinner table and watch my wife eat. So I order the steak tip special advertised for 9.75 online. When I got there they charged me 17 dollars! I asked why so much it was because I added onions,peppers and bbq sauce. I took the order because I felt weird not taking it but I should have went with my instinct. There was no steak in the sub and a few measly onion and peppers. Not even steak tips it was like shaved steak. I was so disappointed I called to complain and they would do nothing for me. I paid 17 dollars for an awful steak sub and some fries. Well, we have lived in town for years, and only tried Mr Gs once, so we decided yesterday that we were going to try them for dinners. I called and got a very nice young lady to help with my questions, plus take the order. I ordered meatloaf, mashed and corn for hubby. Then I ordered sirloin tips for myself, pricey, but OUTSTANDING, did I say OUTSTANDING, they are so worth the money. Loved them and we had delivery that was good too. Absolutely loved the marinade. I would say that I live within walking distance Mr G's, yet despite my love for pizza, I'm not frequenting this place as often as I thought I would when I moved to Merrimack. They offer a pretty extensive menu for a pizza joint, as well as desserts and a full bar. The pizza is just ok. Their buffalo sauce is absolutely awful. The "bar" is a bit sad and very dim, along with the rest of the restaurant. They do have a ton of options for food but I'm never really blown away by anything and the pricing is a bit high compared to some other pizza joints. read more

SERIOUSLY, the order person screws up our address, TWICE, and when we tell the delivery guy no tip cause we waited while he SAT if front of our building, when my husband even went to the door, wondering?? BUT, the THIRD mistake the order person made was to tell us to look for a RED car...this car was BLACK! So, 3 major screw ups, THEN the delivery guy has the audacity to tell us he didn't know which building we were in, either, even though he just HAPPENED to be sitting in front of OUR building, one of 12!!! But, icing on the cake??? The owner ACTUALLY CALLED US TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NO TIP, ALL THE WHILE ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR REPEATED MISTAKES!!! Great pizza, LOUSY, RUDE OWNER. I think their pizza is decent and their burgers are decent. Decent looking staff and prices aren't terrible. If you know merrimack pizza then you know most of it is greek and most greek pizza is basically the same so same goes here. DW Pizza is better, Pizza man is worse (not greek pizza). It's better than Sals (not greek pizza) and comparable to Billy's but with a bar and better looking staff. Better than Dominos but what isn't. Someone really dissed this place above but they're probably an ex employee or something because there's not really anyway you could order something here and not say it was "ok" at least. You wouldn't be on this page if you were looking to spend like you were at Buckley's so for the price you get what you pay for. read more

We go here often and I really like the atmosphere in the bar. The tables are bar high and you can order anything in the bar off of the menu. Last week a friend and I had their gyro and it was phenomenal!!! I also ordered this seasonal beer with a shot of butterscotch liqueur. The rim was coated with cinnamon sugar and it was TO DIE FOR!! The prices are very reasonable and the menu has a lot of variety, from pizza, to hot and cold sandwiches, to specials to entrees.
