If you value your or your families safety, please DO NOT entrust Mr. Lube with any of your car care needs!! I personally have had two terrible experiences with the new owners/their staff and I will NEVER go back (unless Andy and his sister buy it back ;)). All but one lug nut was very loose after my tire change over; one was completely off and rattling around!! I am so grateful this was discovered before my tires came off as my family and I could have been very horribly injured. I gave them another chance, and this time they overtightened my lug nuts with so much torque it warped my rotors. Despite my calls to the owner and a certified letter simply requesting a refund for my tire change over (not even asking for the cost to replace my rotors or the cost to have my trusted mechanic safely install all of the lug nuts to their property torque) they completely ignored my letter and never returned my calls. Terrible customer service! Another lady didn't even make it a block and her tire fell off and she ran over it, which took off her bumper. This is only a very brief summary. Mr. Lube was excellent in years past as I took my vehicle there for 16 years, but ever since the new owners took over, it's gone down hill tremendously! Even the front desk staff is unfriendly and doesn't greet you. For your safety, and your family's, do not take your vehicle to Mr. Lube!! Consider yourself genuinely warned!! read more

Really angry after my last visit, the mechanic who pulled my vehicle into the bay for the oil change clawed at the roof of my car to pull down the visor (for the 15 foot trip, I don't know why he needed to use the visor anyway) and left greasy, black hand smudges ALL OVER the place - including my visor. I was sick when I saw it, and I know my car is only a 2015 Sonata, but it is something I worked hard to pay for and to have it treated so carelessly really upset me. It took me an hour to get most of the grease off the ceiling and it damaged my headliner. I am still furious and that was a month ago. A few years ago I took my Toyota Camry in to Mr. Lube for an oi change. A couple weeks later I was backing up in the snow and had a loud scraping noise from the front of the car. 5 screws were missing from the front skid plate after my oil change and was now hanging down and I drove. Took my car back over to Mr. Lube and asked for the 5 screws to be put back on. After they drove my car back out of the garage we looked and they had zip tied all 5 screw places! Was very disgusted with their service and attitude that I swore then and there that I would never take another car there. I used to work for the company that did their payroll and I never heard anything bad about Andy, but the new owners don't care. Don't take your car there. read more

A positive, upbeat car servicer which is a refreshing experience compared to most other shops I've used. They have the whole, "It's my pleasure" attitude, and they treat their customers with the utmost respect. They get you in and out on oil changes with minimal time waiting. Less than two weeks later, she is in BC, and a warning light comes on that she needs an oil change soon. When I called I was told that they must have forgotten to reset it on the car. I've been using Mr Lube for service and repairs On all my vehicles since the place first opened. Had an oil change performed yesterday and have noticed a remarkable lack of professionalism. Counter girl asked if the newly owned Mr Lube Compared to Andy I replied that service did not seem to be as good. Her reply was that you can't expect us to be as good as Andy. Unbelievable! I've always had synthetic put in my vehicles and she charged me for regular oil , I asked if they had put synthetic in because of the price. She went in the shop and asked then came out and showed me where they wrote on the worksheet synthetic was used. I'm not at all convinced. To sum it up unless I hear better I wouldn't take a vehicle there for anything. read more

My wife took her truck in to your shop to get the brakes looked at. The shop charged her 650$ and sent her home - still having brake issues all the way back. They then called a couple hours later and admitted that they forgot to actually change out the brakes. She went back to your shop where the mechanics supposedly changed out the brakes, but the truck was still having issues. The following day, she got into a fender bender on the Glenn. When she took the truck back a third time, you tried to convince her that everything was fine. After she convinced you to test drive the truck, you admitted there was still an issue.....and then admitted you never test drove the truck afterwards. I will share this story with everyone I know in Anchorage and Wasilla and do everything I can to show how terrible the service at your shop. read more

I went to Mr. Lube for an oil change and a tire balance. I left after they balanced it and the car was shaking worse than before. I brought it back the next day (had to take time off work) and according to the new tech, they did a "half balance". Once I get my vehicle home, I noticed that ALL 4 of my brand new rims were scratched. A tire shop should easily be able to manage all tire care needs with out damaging brand new wheels. The girls up front are unable to answer a single simple question. They will not even quote you for an oil change. It is a very tedious adventure just to get an oil change done. Since this place was bought by new owners, I am very disappointed. Mr. Lube used to be such a great business before this new guy purchased it. read more

First time here, was in need of some new tires (2 were ruined from the drive up the Alcan, 1 punctured this weekend). Called and talked to Shelby, she gave me a quote over the phone. Showed up later in the afternoon and they got me all squared away with some new tires in about 30 minutes. So far so good. I was happy with the price, only time will tell how the tires do, but I will be optimistic! All the service thus far has been great, so I will definitely be back. read more

I was forced to give them a one star rating! Mr lube USE to be a great place to go, that was until recent new ownership. I would NOT recommend service here, I went in paid $53 for an oil change, drove 12 miles and the engine seized because they NEVER added oil back in after they drained it!! My husband brought our vehicle here early this morning to get his tires changed. He arrived about 30 minutes after opening. He waited AT their location for 6 hours before leaving with the car, not even taken into the garage and tires never changed. He wasted his whole morning off waiting for service that was never provided and was an hour late to work. He should have left hours ago but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We both have worked in customer service and are usually very understanding. Making a customer wait for 6 hours and not providing any service or reasons for no service in that time when he arrive just after opening is unacceptable. We will be finding a new auto repair shop after this experience. read more

Mr lube is not the mr lube Andy George built , this place under these new owners is THE WORST POSSIBLE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE IN THE VALLEY !!!! I took my truck in for an oil change and chassis lube , they must have dumped a quart of oil all over the engine bay , the job took over an hour , I was concerned about the lack of business going on at the time , the women at the counter were mostly useless , the people working on my truck have either brain damage or on large quantities of drugs , by the time I got out of there after paying way too much money I made it home to discover oil all over the tailgate , I then noticed the filler plug for the rear differential was gone , so I then called the imbiciles that work there , and told the manager she has a half hour to get one of her morons to my house with oil , my differential plug and some kind of cleaner to get all of the oil off of my truck or there was going to be hell to pay !!! And to my surprise two shady looking fellows showed up in 20 mins , filled the diff back up , cleaned off all the oil mess replaced the diff plug and left , I believe it was me being extremely pissed off and not giving them a choice that prompted them to come correct their mistake , and not to mention my truck was still 2 quarts low on engine oil . Never again will I ever go there as I don't think they are capable of changing a wiper blade , this all happened last summer of 2021 , someone I know just had tires mounted and balanced two days ago her truck drove fine when it went in and now pulls severely to the right , I told her I suspect they turned her tie rod to make it out of alignment, she went back and surprise surprise, they said it's her tie rods , DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE , they appear to be junkies and are screwing people read more

Been going to Mr Lube for years and have always been happy. Recently the ownership changed. I was 5th in line for an oil & lube. I waited 3 hours. Very unhappy. In addition the prices are wat too high now. They do give s senior/military discount of a whole $4 of a $138 bill. Needless to say I'll never go back. read more

Everything about this place has gone downhill in a big way since Andy left, and it is so sad, as we had a real gem of a mechanic here in Wasilla for many years. I was a loyal customer for years, and for good reason. They were possibly the best car shop I've ever been to. They were always helpful, very reasonable on prices, and had integrity in their work, and it was obvious. But the new management either has really bad employees, or has fostered an atmosphere that is bad. The employees act really abrasive, not at all helpful, rigid, defensive, and act like the customers are just a great big bother. I just talked to one of the front counter folks, and she was... lets just say the absolute antithesis of customer service. Also, the charges for repairs are now much higher, and they seem to want more cha ching than they want to provide a service. They seem to have decided the best way bilk the Matsu Valley public is to ding people for a diagnostic, refusing to give any estimates before doing a $90 diagnostic. They claim this is vital under the pretense that they are trying to make a proper estimate for the customer, when it is clearly just a way to gouge people a little more. There are established standards for parts and labor for specific jobs, and they know it. I doubt they'll be in business very long. You just can't treat people the way I've been treated the last few visits and interactions, and still expect people to just keep donating the cash to such an entity. read more

I just got off the phone (4/19/19) with the manger of the Wasilla AK branch who said they will continue to not report work to CARFAX because it would cost $90/mo. I just sold a vehicle that had that info missing on a report for which I paid $40. Fortunately I had the receipt for the work. But it means all the other work I had done there on my other vehicles will not be reported. Otherwise the quality is fine, but I just can't justify giving a 4 star rating read more

Unfortunately I'm going to have to give it very negative account to this company that occurred between June 28-July 8th. The fact is on 6/28 after receiving and paying their services of a pre-purchase safety inspection that ended with the technician telling me directly there was nothing wrong with vehicle with exception of the suggestion of replacing the battery, topping off fluids and replacing a reverse light. I had to return with a problem the first thing the next morning, 6/29. A major problem was found "missed" (brakes), the general manager tried to deny I had even been at the shop! Convenient claim since I had informed her in the morning call that I had agreed to pick up the work receipt that day because the office was so busy. Interesting there are and have not been ANY mentions of denials from any of the office people that I directly had conversations with while waiting the first day. After seeing so many comments from the new owners asking for fair opportunities to show who they were, I called and spoke with Gretchen. At first she seemed very sincere and concerned even while out of state. She even seemed especially apologetic after sending her video of general manager admitting she would not provide the names of the people at the counter nor consider giving a price discount that would have otherwise been shared with the seller if the issue had been presented prior to the purchase. After informing Gretchen that I had immediately taken the vehicle to a nearby shop after being told by Ashley to leave, Gretchen seemed confident that a fair compromise could be met. Unfortunately later that afternoon the second shop found quite a few other items that were not mentioned after the first inspection, nor when I brought it back. This included two items that the second shop stated were considered URGENT. I sent that information to Gretchen, who's tone unfortunately changed immediately. She stated that the same inspection I received from the second shop would have had to have been specifically requested. After informing her who I had made the specific request and appointment with AND included such a request for a previous vehicle I was considering purchasing just 10 days prior, she (Gretchen) then asked for the paperwork that I had already informed her I did not have and I gave her the specific person who could account the fact that they were grateful I was content to comeback the next day to pick it up. She then seem very absolute that there was no record of me or the vehicle being seen and in fact stated that "Frankly", the new system would not even print out an order without a customer's name and license plate being entered in first. Pretty definite, until I gave her a picture of the one slip of paper I happened to leave with; the battery scan slip the technician had given me as he stated, "I would buy this truck", along with the three items he did state needed attention. The paper just happens to have Mr. Lube's information printed on it as well as the exact day and time. ******Crickets****** Gretchen gave a final statement hours later that she would be back in town in a couple of days, 7/3 and know more by the end of the week, 7/5. So, over a week with this problem and nothing. (Even after giving one final benefit of the doubt and reaching out to her on messenger that shows she received and opened it with no reply.) What is to be learned? Beware of this shop (AVOID) and I would highly suggest any work you have had done at Mr. Lube be re-checked somewhere else. **Update** The following is a Copy and paste of ACTUAL response to me for posting on Google review 7/8/19 at approximately 9pm and prior to posting a "for show" response on also on Google. Hubby ordered himself brand new rims and got new rubber and brought them to Mr. Lube to get the rubber put on the rims. Every rim had a visible scratch on the front inside part and 4 spots on the back where they're supposed to use a plastic covering to protect from happening. So he brought the rims in to show the owner and he very rudely kept telling him we don't live in cali. Who cares where we live if we want something nice! Don't be rude and diss what another person enjoys, especially when it's at your place of business. Unprofessional, and very disappointed in how we were treated. read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. We used to always use Mr. Lube for regular maintenance and tires without issue. Since the ownership changed prices went up and service went down. Scheduled my vehicle for one service and ended up with a huge list of things they wanted to do that after a 2nd opinion did not need done. They charged me for diagnostics that I did not ask for or need, and did not do the work I requested and had scheduled. We will be taking our vehicles elsewhere and would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service from the staff as well as the new "owner" is horrid. Even if they had done what was scheduled to be done, the terrible customer service alone would be reason to go elsewhere. read more

Picking up a fixed tire right at closing time and what does Mr. Lube do on seeing my wife going to drive away on skinny spare & fixed tire unmounted? They mounted the newly repaired tire on the car and tucked the skinny spare away below the Subaru trunk where it goes. Way to go above and beyond, Andy. And to not even charge for the mount... Chivalry is NOT dead, it is alive and well at Mr. Lube. Well done guys. Sept 16, 2016 update: More details to follow, but I'm forced to lower Andy's 5 star rating I've had published for him during the past 4+ years to just one star. I won't do business with a person that demonstrates quite clearly that this moral compass in in question. They overfilled the oil in my moms car and broke the oil filter cover, the forum they gave me said they checked the battery for corrosion, they didn't it was corroded badly, when I called them out on their mistakes they had every shop guy come confront me saying I was wrong, then they checked it over and apologized and drained some oil out and cleaned the battery that's the only reason I didn't leave a 1 star review read more

First let me say that I hate to give negative reviews. However, I've tried to address this problem with the employees and they have not been very receptive. I took my car in and paid for the wheels to be balanced, as there was a shaking in the steering wheel. After the appointment, the shaking was much worse, actually to the point of being scary. I took the car back and they said it had a bent wheel, and they rotated the wheel to the back instead. They tried to imply that it had been bent by me since the balancing over the last week. In reality, they missed the fact that the wheel was bent when they tried to balance it. This should have been very obvious on their machine. I then had to correct them about just rotating it to a back wheel, as that meant they put the low tread rear tire back on the front, which would be unsafe. Take off the tires and put the proper treaded tires on the front. I will be going elsewhere to buy a new wheel. I have had previous problems with balancing here. read more

A twenty year satisfied customer of Andy's and tried on three occasions to give the new owner a shot but three strikes and they are out. Living 40 miles/minutes out of town I stopped in to get an oil change. Good, only one car ahead of me at door two. After sitting in the waiting area listening to all of the screw-ups and mis-haps for an hour and a half, I asked for help to get my car out of the line. IMHO, Gretchen could not successfully run a whorehouse in a naval port town. However, whoever put her in that position is more incompetent than her. I went to Walmart and bought Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic for $6.58 a quart to do my own service. Mr. Lube was planning on charging me an additional $8.50 a quart for synthetic above the cost of a regular lube job with regular Pennzoil. Hope Jiffylube or Quicklube build a shop in the Vally soon. SpeeDee in Palmer is also a joke. read more

Just saw a guy come in 20 minutes after me and leave before me. Had an oil change done. I sat there and watched him come in, asked for an oil change and his car was done before mine, after he left they brought my car into the bay. Doesn't make sense. You can get a better deal for an oil change at Midas where I'll be going from now on. Only reason I came to Mr Lube was because Midas was too busy. read more

Purchased 4 new tires for my wife's car from Mr. Lube. They were able to get her right in and had the job done quickly while she waited. After a few weeks, one of the front tires went out of balance. Mr. Lube fixed the issue for free in under 45 minutes even though they were busy. Very good service! read more

Had a great experience here. I have a '13 Outback and dread taking it to the dealership for service. I consistently have a bad experience with the service department at Continental Subaru. Took my car to Mr. Lube today and I was in and out in about 30 minutes for a full service. Very friendly, efficient and the car wash did a great job too. Be aware, on weekdays after work place is pretty packed sometimes. I went on a Sunday and had no wait time. Will be recommending this business to others. read more

Wish I could go lower than one star. Five years ago, this place was great. I don't know what has changed over the last year or two, but they have lost our business for good. They don't care about you as a customer, it's all business. Last tire changeover, we leave the car there all day. Pick it up in the evening, drive 15 miles home just to pull the tires out of the back to put away for the summer and discover that they are the summer tires. They never changed them over....just moved our car from the front lot to the back lot where they park the finished cars and then charged us. We called to let them know, we brought the car back in the next day (having to take time off of work). Barely an apology was given. No discount off the service was offered, nothing....It was 100% there error and they didn't seem to give a crap. Should have learned our lesson, but again just had a horrible experience with them today attempting to get winter tires put on. Again, terrible service, no apologies. They really just don't seem to care. I know they are super busy this time of year, but that doesn't mean a customer should be treated any differently. Mr Lube has lost our business for good. This place has gone downhill with the new owners. I took my F350 truck in May 2019 due to having difficulty keeping the steering wheel straight and difficulty keeping truck straight, it is all over the place. I was told the pitman arm needed replacing and a wheel alignment for $262. Had the work done which corrected the crocked steering wheel but not the difficulty with driving steadily. I took the car back again for the same issue in June and was quoted $947 to replace a gear box and intermediate steering shaft. I consulted Ford dealership and another mechanic who both told me that they did not believe the gear box would need replacing as it is virtually indestructible unless you had a head on collision. Mind you the mark up on parts from Mr Lube to what I can get online is considerably higher. I spoke to the manager and owner today and was given every lame excuse a person could give. One should not have to take a vehicle back for the same issue twice. This also happened in winter when I took my SUV in and when I picked it up it was still driving as crappy as when I left it in the morning. I was told that they never test drove it after repairs. read more

As multiple past long time customers have discovered in 2019, this place ain't what it used to be! Since the original owners retired and turned the business over to their daughters the business has lost all sense of what it takes to create customer satisfaction. The new owners and management have virtually no organization skills or sense of urgency when bringing vehicles in for service and then getting them out the door for the customer to be on their way. During spring and winter tire change overs it is basically now just a free for all with no way to maintain the numerical order as in the past. Even after a vehicle is serviced and placed in the pickup area the customer has to wait another 20 minutes for the counter ladies to get around to processing the payment invoice. My wife and I have serviced several vehicles in past years with tire change overs and oil and lube service. But after the poor customer service today on July 26, 2019 we will no longer waste our time at this establishment. The staff of ladies running the business now seem to feel they are doing us a favor just to have us walk in the door. My wife waited 20 minutes after she could see her car was done for someone to process her invoice. Finally she walked up to the counter, found her invoice in a stack of invoices, picked it out and said "here, I would like to pay this".This place would be better off if they got rid of the help and turned it into self service lube and go. As the ole saying goes, all good things must come to an end and Mr. Lube just ain't what it used to be since mom and dad retired. If you go here make sure you bring a good book or a movie on your iPad. read more

I used them for 8 years and was always happy. Now they have new owners and don't seem to be doing as well. I dropped my car off for an oil change and asked them to replace the spark plugs I supplied. They said I needed to make an appointment for that now and they would call me when the mechanic was back. Great! No call. I called them the next morning...they said sorry, the other clerks dropped the ball and didn't call me back. Fine, lets make an appointment to do the spark plugs. They said they would get it done that day and call me. No call and its Sunday, I need to get to work on Monday. I stop by and they said it had been done for awhile, sorry they didn't call and they were closing 2 hours early, at the very moment I was picking up my car. $400 bill and they can't tell me why. They said they would have the mechanic write up a detailed bill and call me back. Never called. Sadly, its time to find someone new. These new owners do not care about honesty, customer service, or transparency. read more

I will not go back to Mr lube. I am so upset that the way they treated my daughter. She went in to get all fluids checked and filled. And paid for the service. When she left and got home she looked and they did not check or fill her transmission fluid. She called and asked about that and they said they could not check it because they would have to turn a wrench . That she would have to make appointment to have it done on a Saturday, because that is the only Day they do it,, She tried to call them on Monday she left a message. She called them on Tuesday and left a message. No one called her back. She got busy at work on Wednesday and could not call so she called on Thursday morning first thing. Finally got to talk to someone. And of course they're all booked up on Saturday so she could not have it done. It is just upsetting that you have a place of business and each one you talk to has a different answer. So we will be going else where for our Business, so if I were anyone that thinks they had all fluids checked. You might want to check your transmission fluid,, because it might be low. I've been to a handful of car washes in Wasilla and they do the best job. I have to believe it's the guys in the beginning putting a little extra work into it, it pays off. Front desk people are nice and very responsive. The mechanics seem very knowledgeable and know what they're talking about when it comes to vehicles except transmissions. Do not bring a vehicle in for a transmission servicing. My truck broke down due to an error in my transmission. Mr. Lube was the closest shop so I brought it to them. I brought it in on a Friday, and they weren't able to look at it until Wednesday, two weeks later. A mechanic gave me a call and told me that he had been out. He was able to check it out quickly and got back to me. One call, he said that the transmission adapter had broken and needed replacing and that was all the scope of work would include. I told him to fix what ever the heck was wrong with the darn thing (850 dollars for fix). Then a day later, he calls and tells me that the entire transmission needs to be rebuilt because the O/D transmission casing cracked (4500 dollars for fix). So, I told him not to fix it. When I told the mechanic I wasn't going to have them fix it, he asked which shop I would take it to. I told him and he tried to defame the other shop by telling me they were no good and didn't know their tranny. I said balls to that and towed it away anyway. The casing needed replacing because of a CV joint failure, and somehow Mr. Lube managed to not mention anything of the sort to me. The other shop found it with ease and did the fix quick (1100 dollars). It isn't likely you'll ever find me here for anything that has to do with a transmission. read more
