I can say that because I've been getting my hair cut here for yearrrrrrrs and don't plan on going anywhere else. I moved out of the area over eight years ago and I still refuse to find a new stylist/salon. Every time I go upstate to visit I make sure I call for an appointment. Why wouldn't I? The ladies are good at what they do - they know hair! And they don't treat you like just a customer, they treat you like a friend and who wouldn't love that? Beyond the cuts and customer service they've also got a clean shop, nail studio, and great prices.

As others have noted, the salon itself is lovely. It's on the second floor, with lots of natural light and views of Westcott Street. I came first thing in the morning so finding parking was a breeze, but I think you'll be able to find a spot within a short walk anytime. It looks like they have drinks (including mimosas) available for customers but it was first thing in the morning so I didn't partake. I went for a simple trim with layers, and it took about 1/2 an hour including the wash. The price was as listed, and actually a little lower than comparable salons in the area of the same quality. It's absolutely gorgeous, with windows that bring in great natural light, creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. The vibe feels effortlessly cool, almost like stepping into a Lana Del Rey music video - relaxed, stylish, and spacious. Doug, the owner of Wescott Barber, played a huge role in bringing this salon to life, and you can see the craftsmanship in every detail. The attention to design makes it such an enjoyable place to be. Beyond the aesthetics, the experience here is top-notch. Serena is incredibly friendly and welcoming. She made my almost 4-year-old feel so comfortable, and they were having the cutest conversation during our visit. It's such a kid-friendly environment, which is a huge plus for parents. When I found out some of the guys that used to work at the Shoppingtown Barber Shop were starting their own place, I was excited. The new location is beautiful with new chairs, wooden supply areas, and a nice cooler for bottles of water and the like. The guys also started selling their own hair products, and I can happily report their paste hair gel is excellent. Cuts are still $15 which also gets you a warm shave of your neck/ear area. They also offer a beard shave or trimming which I believe costs a little extra.
