We ordered a prepared meal (Beef shank) with Rice dish and I'm sorry I can't remember what it was called). Just wow. Very tender pieces of beef and the rice was just delicious. The entrees had cooking instructions and the recommended time temperature. At first I was skeptical as I really don't like eating food that needs to be reheated. But boy was I wrong. It was delicious and to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference whether it came off the oven or not. It was that good I will definitely be visiting the place again and I can't wait to try the other meals. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays they have smoked ribs and wings I'm told. Haven't tried it yet but I look forward to it. This is a hidden gem with top notch staff.

We eat at this location only once a year for my elderly mothers birthday. The franchisee owns at least 3 locations. one in Keswick and two in Newmarket Ontario. first I want to start off saying i have been frequenting Swiss Chalet since my childhood, it has been a staple for our family and was always affordable with good service. Recently this has not been the case. Since the Covid pandemic we have run into multiple issues with corporate and franchisee policy: Last year e we discovered that these locations do not allow you to bring your own birthday cake to the resteraunt. We were told at the time that this was due to covid. Fast forward to this year. Not surprisingly, my mothers choice for her birthday was again Swiss Chalet. When we booked this year we made arrangements to go back to my sisters house to celebrate and have birthday cake. Problem solved right? Well apparently not. When we arrived we had a couple of coupons to use. we were a party of 10 with 3 separate families present. The resteraunt combined 3 tables for us to sit together. When we attempted to order with our coupons we were told we could only use 1 coupon per table. The coupons say cannot be combined with any other offer and 1 per guest. From a customer perspective we had 3 separate guests at the table (if we had been seated at separate tables we would have each been able to use 1 coupon, right?). The manager basically told me they could not do this because they charge the bill to one table on the PoS terminal (which is untrue because normally there are 3 separate tables in that area). When i asked to lodge a complaint with the owner who was on site, i was greeted with disrespect and attitude. suffusive to say that in the interest of not ruining the night for my mother i let it go and we simply adjusted our order and let my sister use her coupon. My issue is the disrespect from the franchisee owner, as i was literally told word for word that "i just didn't want to accept that we can't use our coupon, and we're trying to cheat her resteraunt somehow, and that she was too busy to deal with this and turned her back on me and walked away". This is unacceptable to treat any customer like this even if you think the customer is wrong. Knowing now that this owner runs my local locations, I will be choosing other resteraunts to give my business to in future. I will also be following up with recipe unlimited and based on their response i may be refraining from frequenting their other properties which include: East Side Mario's Montana's Kelsey's Harvey's St. Hubert's. It's unfortunate to make a post like this but after being treated as i was tonight, i felt this was one of my only outlets.

I love just sitting in their Muskoka chairs watching the river go by. Serving Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream, Moolicious has all of your classic flavours in a variety of sizes. Their serving are generous to say the least (they alone is worth a rare five stars), and the staff are super friendly. Offering ice cream and frozen yogurt there is something here for everyone. The next time I stop by I will need to check out the other store in the building - Georgina's local Board Shop. A group of us went down to the location on High Street and it's honestly such a better location. They have a nice view of the water and more seating outfront as well as behind the building. They extended their business with a hot dog cart out front called "Wienielicious" which let me tell you is a VERY fitting name. It was one of the best hot dogs I've had from a vender and for only 3$ it was absolutely filling. But of course we couldn't pass on ice cream either!! If you are in the area you definitely need to visit this shop the owners are always so friendly and cheery. They have a variety of ice cream flavours which can also be turned into a good milkshake. And they have soft service option as well.
