Great Food, and just dazzling service for a walk-up Food Court style restaurant. The lady working was so incredibly nice and very good at engaging and offering options. In a world of "point and order" TV Menus and what you see is what you get...it was very nice to be asked questions and get thoughtful replies! I'm normally a "same thing, same place" when I'm in a hurry or hungry, kind-of-person...but I actually ordered differently based on the suggestion of the lady who helped me. Everything tasted very fresh, was perfectly hot, and took as much time as fresh should. The food estimate was 6-7 minutes; so of course my kids and every kid within earshot started a chant...6-7, 6-7, 6-7... Let's talk about Mr. Rice. Because oh boy... Mr. Rice has rice. Like, rice for days. Rice for weeks. If there's ever a global rice shortage, Omaha... look no further. We found the vault. I ordered the General Chicken and the Awesome Chicken -- and honestly, the taste? Fantastic. Like, "I suddenly understand why this chicken is awesome" fantastic. But here's where the plot thickens -- unlike the chicken servings: * Price: Over $13 a dish and that's without fried rice. Want fried rice? 99 more cents. Ninety-nine. The psychological stress of that alone is worth a star deduction. * Delivery: Came fast in a super-cool bright orange bag. 10/10 on bag design. Most stylish part of the meal. * Egg rolls: They were fine. They existed. That's the nicest thing I can say. * The Bowl Situation: It's a large bowl. A promising bowl. Then you open it and... it's like 75-80% plain white rice with a little island of chicken in the corner going, "Help, there's too much rice!!" When I paid $45 on DoorDash for two bowls (and enough rice to cater a wedding), I expected more star of the show and less background actor. Final Verdict: The flavor is a superstar. I had heard good things about Mr. Rice, but we don't make it out to the Oakview area too often, so had to order on DoorDash. That seems to be a pretty ubiquitous format for this type of fast food, so I think that's still a valid experience to review. Well, first off, we ordered at about 7:50pm before realizing they were located in the mall that closes at 8pm. When we did notice that, we fully expected the order to be canceled, but to our surprise the order was confirmed and began to be prepared and on the way to be delivered. When the order arrived, the first thing I noticed is the adorable packaging. It has the cute Mr. Rice logo on a high quality bag with a self adhering top, so you know it hasn't been tampered with and stayed fresh on the delivery ride. There was a cute note in the package with a thank you for ordering and a reminder to review on DoorDash. My husband is the DoorDasher so I will leave that to him :-) The items I had heard were great were the Popcorn Chicken as an app/side and the Awesome Chicken (I mean "awesome" is in the name, right?!), so those are the things I ordered. -Popcorn Chicken: I got this as the side to my entree, and added the Spicy Asian sauce and Honey Mustard sauce for dipping. The chicken was crispy and tasty, but a little dry. The two sauces came on the side and were both pretty spicy! I thought maybe the honey mustard would be just sweet and tangy, but it was mostly just hot. I ended up just dipping my popcorn chicken into the sweet and sour sauce my entree came with. -Crab Rangoon: As I stated, my entree came with a side of sweet and sour sauce, and that is because each entree comes with two Crab Rangoons. Those were nice and had a good flavor, no complaints there - just pretty standard Crab Rangoon. -Awesome Chicken: This was pretty tasty, and the chicken was juicy and high quality. No stringiness or toughness that you can find some places. The dish didn't come with very much of the Awesome Sauce though as it was packed with all the veggies and chicken on top and the fried rice on the bottom, not getting any of the sauce. I had to MacGyver it myself by adding some of that (previous savior) sweet and sour sauce. -Orange Chicken: This was my husband's choice, and it came with the chicken pieces fried (the Awesome Chicken is not fried), with a tangy and citrusy orange sauce. He said it was pretty okay for delivery Orange Chicken, but not anything to write home about. I think the delivery option is a good choice if you can't make it out to Oakview to try it in person, but I think it did lose a little quality in transport, so I will for sure eat it in person next time! read more

It's Sunday night, been one of those days they your really didn't do much, don't feel like cooking and don't want to go out. The wife isn't hungry so it's fend for yourself.... Guwss is doordash, but what to order? Saw a place in Omaha that I haven't tried before called Mr. Rice, Asian fare. Decided to give it a try. Chose General Tso, which is my goto, an order of potstickers, but they don't call them that, and an order of crab rangoon, since I know my wife will eventually get hungry and want something to snack on. Doordash took 30 minutes from time of order to delivery... shout out to Edgar for making the trip, and getting me my meal while it's was still hot. The order came in a sealed reusable Mr Rice bag with a nice thank you note with the order....nice touch. The service size was large, even for me, and I'm a big guy. There were 8 pot stickers, fried up to crunchy perfection, along with a container of teriyaki dipping sauce, and the fried rice and chicken bowl was not heavy or overly saucy, but had just the right amount of flavor. I ate half of the bowl and am saving half for later when my wife eats the crab rangoons. All in all, a nice, quick meal. I'm now a big doordash fan, it's pretty expensive, but i could set myself ordering from Mr. Rice again, or going to their store for dine in. read more

Menu: They are currently serving a minimalist menu, which makes sense for a location in a struggling food court. They have Amazimg Chicken, Popcorn Chicken, or Spare Ribs served atop a bowl of white rice, along with a good selection of drinks. I think that's about it. What I got: My Amazing Chicken came in a microwaveable plastic bowl. It was enough for two modest meals. The flavor was like Amazing Chicken at most Americanized Chinese restaurants: lots of sugar and a little spice. The flavor was well balanced (no excessive orange flavor, for example). Service: The lady at the counter is super friendly and a gifted salesperson. She anticipated and answered all of my questions. No language barrier whatsoever for English speakers. Atmosphere: Mall food court. Price: Without a drink, my meal cost $11.33 including tax. Bottom line: Recommended. This place is awesome! Ordered the chicken and shrimp with side of spare ribs. It was spot on! Chicken was tender and shrimp was very flavorful. Spicy level was great as well!! Egg rolls were amazing and had good taste. My only semi complaint would be the crab rangoon. There wasn't much filling in our order but we also ordered 15 mins before last order on DoorDash so I will not hold that against them this time. The Rangoon wasn't bad by any means, just not the filling we are used to. Great place, awesome staff and even sent food in a warmer bag! Will reorder again soon! read more

Had mr.rice delivered today. Ordered Crab Rangoon and Sesame Chicken. Large portions. The Crab Rangoon were on par with other restaurants. The Sesame Chicken was very good although a little too spicy for me ( my fault) not theirs. Next time I will order mild sauce instead of medium. I will definitely order again read more

I came here with my son the day after Christmas and bought crab ragoon. I asked the lady for a little ice for a drink and she responded with I don't give anything for free mind me I had just bought some crab ragoon from here. she than proceeded to go off talking about she works hard and I need to pay a dollar for ice. I walked away but she continued explaining her self cuzing me out. As if I wanted a hand out I told her she had been super rude and I was going to give her a bad review. We ordered our food via DoorDash. The portions are huge! All the food was delivered in a cute reusable bag with Mr. Rice logo on it. There was a thank you note in the bag, which is a welcome touch of positive customer service. We ordered Sesame Chicken, Awesome Chicken, Orange Chicken and some veggie & chicken rolls. We all enjoyed our meals and felt it was pretty yummy for it being Chinese Fast Food. One of the things we all loved was being able to choose the level of spiciness we like. Since we all have different preferences, this was a nice surprise! The portions are generous! We each had plenty left over to eat for another meal. Terrible service in terrible food prep. This man in the back was repeatedly rubbing his nose laterally mind you and sticking his hand grabbing chicken strips. I express my concern to the woman working who says what do you want to do? And I said well I want you guys to correct it so he doesn't keep doing it and get a refund. So she gives me the refund and she's rude to me acting like I'm creating some sort of issue saying it's Sunday at the end of the day why can't you just be happy I give you the refund she couldn't even say sorry. I've walked past the restaurant a few times and almost every time the servers are ushering people to come try the food which was a little suspicious, so I kept walking. Today when I walked past there was a gentleman patiently standing there who I'd come to find out is the owner. He wasn't ushering anybody in, and didn't look very excited. Curiosity got the best of me so I decided to give the place a shot - and it was totally worth it. First things first, the price was very fair. $11 for a bowl of orange chicken. I was able to choose my level of heat which is fantastic, I love that. The orange sauce was every bit as delicious as it should be and didn't have that unnatural radiation orange color some other major food chain sauces have. There was enough sauce to coat most of the rice, which was also cooked to perfection. The meal was larger than I expected and filled me up and then some. My girlfriend got the General Tso chicken bowl and she agrees that the food was wonderful. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the rice was fluffy, the sauce was plentiful and delicious. Truly great food. There's only one problem with this restaurant, the location. Oakview mall is dying, nobody comes to oakview to eat and the ones that do are stuck revisiting the same restaurant they have been going to for years. I understand why Mr. Rice feels the need to usher people in, and it's because the people in this area are stuck in their old ways and not even giving this fantastic restaurant a chance. My advice to the owner, move to a better location as soon as you have the chance. Your food is worth every last bit. I will continue to eat here and do what I can to support the business. Me and my girlfriend have spent our entire adult lives and professional cooks and chefs, and we both fully support the food you're serving. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
