An absolute gem & outlier for the area and for Kosher food. Not only very high quality food, but probably the tastiest Kosher food anywhere in LA. Top tier quality ingredients and some impressive flavors in many of their original dishes. Some of the must haves are the chicken wings & drumettes (they're so much better than you can expect), the rib eye sliders (melts in your mouth), beef carpaccio, tart flambé (amazing dish...10/10 winner)...and that's just appetizers! I tried this place over the first week of Hanukkah with my boyfriend's family who's visiting from New York. They keep kosher. My boyfriend had warned me that most kosher restaurants aren't great, but I didn't want to believe him because there's no way a steakhouse even if it's kosher could be bad boy was I wrong and do I owe him an apology for not believing him We had a large party of about 12 or so Service was OK although there was some mishaps and misunderstandings. I had ordered a new set of crayons for child in our party because they broke and the waiter, who clearly is ESL misunderstood me and brought two Negroni's instead of the crayons I asked for Two of the people in our party ordered fish and chips and it did not come with the accompaniments and it took them a few times and a few requests for them to bring them out and even then they only brought out one set and not the other At one point when they were clearing dishes from the table, a server must have grabbed a birthday card and we'd spent a good deal looking for it without either of them telling us that they had picked up, said card and it wasn't until after we spent time turning over the tables and cushions and then finally asking them. Did they then give us the card they took I purchased the petite steak with the loaded potato, and my boyfriend obtained the butchers cut. The petite steak was much better than the butchers cut, but neither steak was seasoned and a little bland. The potato was decent however the kosher cheese did not melt I don't keep kosher and I'm happy to go to restaurants that do but I do not foresee myself going back to Mr. Shiloh unless it's with my boyfriend's family who keeps kosher other than that it's a cute place and the drinks were great. I went to Mr. Shiloh's in Los Angeles for an event, and overall it was a great experience. The ambiance was on point, the servers were genuinely friendly, and the service flowed smooth like a good playlist at a backyard BBQ. The drinks were solid too. A couple things, though. The sliders missed the mark for me. The buns were very hard to bite into, almost like they were right on the edge of getting old. I grew up on real bread, so I know that taste when it's about to clock out. Also, the tuna tartare (or tuna tower) didn't hit right. Something about the flavor felt off. But everything else? Delicious. The appetizers (minus the tuna) were great, the prime rib was tender and flavorful, and the tacos were a hit. Overall, it was a nice night with just a few bumps on the food side. I like that they re-did the place but honestly, except for the bread that was yummy everything was just OK. I expected more. What a lovely place to dine, with amazingly prepared food. The quality is beyond outstanding, I ordered the tart flambee, the steak tartar, and a 16oz ribeye calotte (high marbling). All 3 of the dishes were cooked and prepared to perfection, the flambee being light and crispy with a plethora of flavor from the beef bacon and crème fresh. The steak tartar was salty, seasoned really well and came with a lot too. The calotte was big, as you can see it's a rather large cut so if you've never ordered something like this before I'd recommend a smaller size 10oz as it does come with a side of potatoes of your choosing and the appetizers can make quite a place in your stomach. They come with 3 different dipping sauces, 2 different au jus and A1 sauce all have their respective intricate flavors when paired with the meat. I ordered medium rare and it was extremely juicy, tender and red but not too red. The fat melted in my mouth and it is definitely my number one recommendation as a turf entree. When you go on a busy night there may be parties in the outdoor and sometimes indoor which can get a bit loud if, which you're looking for a quiet place can be a good thing to know so reserve a place towards the back if possible. But even with the abundance of party and people the service was very quick and spaced out just right, as I finished one dish and had a few minutes to enjoy drink and rest and the next came out. The restaurant, which is Kosher, is excellent. People were having a really great time socializing, the food was excellent, the service attentive, and parking was available. We ate inside as it was too cold for us in the outside patio which, I'm sure, is much sought after in warmer weather. The prices are sky high and while I very much enjoyed the steak -- which was first quality and not chewy as so many kosher meats are -- it was grossly overpriced compared to other steak houses. $88 to $129 for a steak is extraordinary, as are the prices for sides, appetizers and entrees. Nevertheless, it was one of the best steaks I have had. The roasted half chicken, at $48, was also very overpriced although it was good, but not special. What a wonderful find. Was in Los Angeles for the Thanksgiving holiday staying at the Fairmont Century City. The concierge suggested this restaurant that was in an area I wasn't familiar with. Almost didn't go, but fortunately my wife said we should try it. So glad we did, it's a family run restaurant with an extremely attentive staff and superb food. Went for a work dinner. Chris our waiter was awesome. He rec the tarte flambé as a Shiloh classic which was a nice flatbread w beef bacon. The mushroom egg rolls and cauliflower were delicious - would get again. Beef carpaccio and tuna tartare were ok - prob wouldn't get again. I got the lychee martini which was sweet but fit my tastebuds. The steak was done medium rare w a hot plate to sear it and that was . It was fun to see it lit on fire. The sauces for the steak were too thick and heavy for my taste but I didn't really need it. What a great restaurant! We celebrated my wife's birthday, just us and the kids, and we had a great time. The service was AWESOME, and the food was great too. The place was clean and although a lot of people were dining there, it was not loud and the atmosphere was very nice. We will definitely come back again. Ps. I was not pleased with this restaurant. I came back for the third time hoping I'd have a better experience. The menu is completely overpriced for the food being served and there was slow service. Service: Slow. Not sure if they're understaffed or just inattentive. The only time I got attention or my waiter came to me was because I flagged him down. Although, the waiter himself was very sweet and nice and I know it was a busy night for him. So not directed at him just the service in general. There are too many bussers just standing around and it looks chaotic. Especially when they dont even pour water in our cups. They just give us the jugs and we pour it ourselves.
