Loved having the little tray with lime wedges and pickled jalapeños on the side -- nice touch. The salsas they gave with it ranged from mild to smoky, something for everyone. The birria tacos were the highlight. Tortillas were fried up golden and crispy, stuffed with tender, well-seasoned shredded beef, topped with diced onion and cilantro. The consommé for dipping was rich and had good depth. These are the real thing. The al pastor/trompo bowl was loaded -- big chunks of marinated chicken, shredded lettuce, onion, cilantro, and drizzled with what tasted like a chipotle crema. A lot of food for the money. It's perfectly situated right between the Pico and La Brea neighborhoods, so whether you're coming from one or heading to the other ,or on your way to Western Kosher, it's literally right along your route. Grab a taco, then go shopping. Couldn't be easier. Nice comfortable seating on the outdoor patio. Started with the Pozole, authentic, hearty, and exactly what you want a pozole to be, loaded with fresh toppings: lettuce, cilantro, onion, radish, and lime. The broth has real depth and just a slight heat that feels homemade. TACO TUESDAY!!! The tacos are legit. The barbacoa beef was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor,no shortcuts here. You can tell this is authentic preparation, not just "restaurant-style" tacos. Chicken Jalapeño Tamale Cupcake. Moist, savory, just the right kick from the jalapeño. Definitely something different and worth trying. Elote Street Style. Corn on the cob with mayo, vegan Parmesan, and chili powder. It was so sweet and creamy it could honestly double as dessert. First time at Sweet & Spizy. We had a Jumbo burrito with beef and a Mexican chicken bowl. Both delicious and both enormous; truly enough for two meals. Service was very good and friendly. The setting is a bit shvach at night - there's only one table inside. Outside would have been feasible since there are heating lamps, but my mother is sensitive to the cold. Parking was easy. This new spot is amazing! It was their first Saturday night open after Shabbat at their new location, and everything was perfect. Raquel is so sweet and really cares about her customers -- you can taste her passion in every dish. The tamales are incredible, and the protein bowl was cooked perfectly with all the right toppings. They even have a complimentary chips station with fresh guac, cilantro, and lime! I also love that the menu includes traditional Mexican favorites like tamales, enchiladas, and elote. This place is really dirty and disgusting. Probably one of the worst food establishments I've ever eaten at and the food is priced way higher than it should be. Plus the owner is horrible at making customers feel welcome and is very rude. I found a piece of hair in my burrito. It looked like it was from the employee's beard hair.
