Street parking and valet parking are options. They have Monday night where they do delicious sushi. The regular menu is anything but regular. It has a lot of variety. We came as a group of nine to celebrate a friend's birthday, and unfortunately it turned into a really disappointing experience. The Jerusalem mix was stiff, the meat in the hummus was dry, and the whole branzino was completely drowned in sauce, which took away all the flavor. The bagel was fair, but overall the food just didn't match the high prices. The place has a nice ambiance, but the service really ruined the night. Our server elbowed one of our friends by accident and never apologized, kept speaking Hebrew even after we asked several times to switch to English we had guest that dose not speak Hebrew , and ignored my drink order completely. For a birthday dinner, that kind of treatment just felt careless and disrespectful. We were all so disappointed, especially since we came in excited to celebrate. Sadly, after this experience, I'll never be back. They have only 20% top as the Lowest and I even regret giving that if I could not that I wouldn't tip I would ask for a manger as well. read more

This is a follow up response to my first review to the owner..... Thank you for your response, but I have to respectfully disagree with several points you made -- many of which are either inaccurate or intentionally misleading. First, no one in our group brought in outside alcohol. We inquired beforehand about the option to pay a corkage fee for bottle service and were denied. At no point did we sneak drinks into the venue as you claim. The accusation that we were "pouring tequila in the parking lot" and re-entering is absolutely false and frankly offensive. If there's surveillance footage, we ask that it be reviewed honestly and not twisted to suit a narrative. Second, the interaction about the music was never about taking over the playlist. We kindly asked if we could hear a few Persian songs to help set the mood for the birthday celebration. Instead of a polite decline, your staff escalated it into a confrontation -- completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Saying you played "several Persian songs out of respect" is simply not true. As for the candle situation -- your staff told us there were no candles left, then minutes later we watched candles being brought to another table at the request of your manager. That's not a misunderstanding; that's clear favoritism and deception. Regarding tipping: Our group tipped generously. My brother personally gave the waiter $100 on top of the group tip. The birthday girl paid the bill and left an additional gratuity. The total amount tipped was over $400 -- well above the standard 20%. Yet the waiter still had the audacity to approach two women in our group and aggressively demand even more money. That's completely unacceptable and crosses the line from "poor service" to harassment. And finally, to claim we "celebrated, danced, and smiled" is not proof we had a good time. We made the most of our night because we were there to celebrate someone special. Our joy came in spite of the treatment we received -- not because of anything your staff or management did. We left deeply disappointed, mistreated, and frankly uncomfortable -- and I stand by everything I said in my original review. Let me be honest for future patrons reading this: If you're Persian, or not part of the crowd this restaurant "favors," expect to be treated like second-class citizens. We left feeling not only disappointed, but also insulted -- and that is something we won't forget. The food was subpar (fatty steaks, fish that smelled off, terrible drinks), the service was even worse, and the attitude of the management is beyond arrogant and defensive. It's one thing to have a bad night -- it's another to lie publicly and attack customers who speak out. I would never recommend this place to anyone -- and especially not to my Persian community, who deserve to be treated with the same dignity and respect as anyone else. read more

Went to dinner on a Thursday night and this place was overly crowded so much so that when your about to put your fork in your mouth the waiter hits you from the back over and over again. We've dined here many times, and we keep coming back. Next Door is truly unique in the LA food scene. Each time we come there is something new and exciting on the menu that blows us away. The chef has mastered combining fresh herbs with pungent flavor to deliver a meal that always leaves us wanting more. Some of our favs - the Mushroom Gnocchi - ultimate comfort food, Crispy Short Rib Hummus - get every time, The Short Rib main dish - moist and delicious, the INCREDIBLE Green Pasta (even though we sometimes don't wanna be mixing our own food;), the Sea Bream - unbelievable, the Baby Kale Salad - my husband's go-to, the Bluefin Tuna is one of the most amazing bites I've ever taken, and the Chicken Thighs are underratedly so good! This list is long because seriously this food here is incredible. There are some dishes, though, that didn't blow us away as much. The Ragu Fettuccini was delicious a few months ago, but recently hasn't been as flavorful as it used it. We did not find the Burger special - we feel Next Door should have a really good burger and unfortunately they don't. We did not find the Roasted Beet and Fig appetizer and Garden Tomato Salad to be executed super well - even though they're good...they're not great. We love that Monday night there's an entirely different menu - where we have another list of our favs - like the Japanese Buns!! Drinks are always amazing and we love the bartenders there.... Especially Anastasia:)) My one request is that Next Door ups their Dessert game. Unfortunately after an amazing meal, we just can't have the date cake each time!! We need more variety! Please bring back the Pistachio Cream Puffs! Those were amazing. The chocolate mousse is good, but we also are getting bored of it. The other desserts aren't 'bad' but we are looking for some variety - change it up a bit. Tonight was our 4th time dining at Next Door. Three of our guests shared the 36 oz Cowboy Steak ($236) and they raved at every bite. Tender and cooked to perfection! I had the burger + fries ($39) and it was delicious! Perhaps the BEST part of our meal were the apps. Sashimi, crispy rice, Moroccan cigars YUM!, and yellowtail - so freakin' good! We also had the lamb chops and kale salad. Amazing! The drinks were perfection, too! We shared a dessert - can't remember the name - it was like a bird's nest with cream, on top of raspberry sauce. Delicious! After tax + 22% tip, our bill came to $805 for the 4 of us. Worth every penny! Absolutely delicious and the service was perfect, too! We will be back! Soon, I hope! Side note: Towards the end of our meal, it did seem like the music kept getting louder + louder, which impedes on conversation and slightly annoying. I've heard about this place and seen their instagram page and thought I'd check it out. It was Sushi Monday which I didn't know they did! They hired sushi specialists that came to make the sushi which I thought was very impressive I ordered the Salmon Dragon roll and it was TOP NOTCH, I'm very grateful I had a patient and knowledgeable server, Noam? He was so so sweet and guided me through this process. Because I wanted to not only indulged in their sushi night but also get a taste of the Israeli cuisine- and to add, the Moroccan cigars. WOAH! It completely renewed my palate, I've never had anything like this so it was very good to try out Mondays are very popular and alive! It got very very busy, and luckily I was able to sit in their cute tented area. I sat by this big beautiful tree and they had lights- honestly so cute and a lot quieter which was great because it was just me. And I have to highlight their managing staff. And might I add- the professionalism these two displayed, top tier Mondays seem to be one of their popular days and they handled it like pure professionals. My friend and I came here last Saturday night for dinner. It was both our first times. I only go to glatt kosher restaurants with her since she is glatt kosher and she said it was her favorite restaurant compared to the other fine dining restaurants we have been to. We sat inside. The decor was cool/funky. We shared the bluefin tuna sashimi which was amazing and very fresh highly recommend it. We each got the burger with zaatar fries and it was the best burger we thought compared to other glatt kosher restaurants. We definitely will come back and even maybe on a Thursday night when they have a DJ.
