I thank my lucky stars for reading the reviews for Mr. Skylight and giving them a call. I have a 20 year old Velux skylight that's never given me a single problem. Quite suddenly the remote wouldn't open the skylight. I could see that there was still a connection between the skylight and the remote which told me it may be a simple problem. That said, no one would help me. Every place I contacted told me I needed to replace it. Even Velux Customer Service said "it cant be fixed" without asking me a single question. He fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. It works like a charm again! And for anyone with a 20 year old Velux skylight -- it was the sensitive toggle that controls the security lock. The rubber seal on my skylight became unseated from its channel. Ladd hadn't installed my skylight. My next-door neighbor who's a handyman, recommended Mr. Skylight to repair it.
