They will check before coming and charging you if you already called power company and made sure there isn't outage or something wrong in their side. Seems very decent. How did that happen over a span of 10 minutes? And they have the audacity to charge for the trip, $180. Beware. Do NOT USE their services. I'm not trying to be a jerk here, as the guy who came out was super nice and friendly. But we're in the middle of a pandemic and he was not wearing a mask. I had to ask him to wear a mask (I gave him one of ours - no idea if he even had one in his van) and I'm pretty positive he took it off as soon as I walked out of eyesight, as he wasn't wearing it the next time he wanted to chat to me about the issue in my home. Regardless of your perspective on the necessity of masks (although, at this point, come on...), you need to make sure that your customers feel safe, as you're entering their home, and the vast majority of us are worried about corona. This company is extremely expensive. The quality of work is not in accordance with their prices. The tech did not clean behind himself, the workmanship wasn't totally professional. We paid a ton of money to have 20+ outlets, to have copper piggy backed on to the aluminum wiring to discover that 8 of the outlets continue to not work. The tech did not check to ensure that the outlets being worked on worked. Again, as stated earlier, the tech appeared rushed. I will never use this company again. Mr Speedy Electric, formerly Kaiser Electric, really stands behind their work. In 2006 they installed a dedicated circuit and outlet for our over-the-oven microwave with no problem. However when we replaced the microwave, the lights in kitchen would dim whenever the microwave cycled on. Unaware the installers plugged it into a different outlet, I thought Kaiser Electric had not dome the work properly so I called them up. Kaiser came over two days later and identified the problem in a few minutes. While many contractors may have blown me off because the work was done so long ago, they did the right thing. Very expensive. They are one of those companies that want you to pay $100 a year for a service contract and then you get a "member discount". The fee to come out and just give an estimate was $150 and that went toward what ever work you had them do. It was all so confusing, they wanted $150 to come out plus $100 for the year "contract" that I didn't need. I had no idea about the $100 and felt a bit taken as was put off by it all. My lights went out in my shed out back so I called Mr. Speedy Electric to come investigate and repair the problem. I was given an arrival window between 8am-12pm. At 12:00pm, when no electrician arrived I called and asked if there was a problem since no one called or showed up. They informed me that they were running behind and would be there soon. Finally after waiting all day, an electrician arrived at 3:45pm. The first thing he mentioned was that they charge a $150 fee for the first hour for door to door service that was explained to me as being charged from when they leave from one site to arrival at your site. I asked him how long did it take to arrive at my residence and he said an hour due to the rain because he was only driving 30mph. Frustrated and needing my shed power fixed I told him that I will swallow the $150 and to get going on my repairs. The electrician spent the next two hrs removing electric panels, outlets, trying to diagnose my problem when when he notices that the cause to my power being out in my shed was because a tripped circuit in an outlet that he claims he did not see. Problem corrected and now he doesn't have the parts to fix the outlets he broke! I drive to my local hardware store that was 15min away, purchase the parts, drive back and have home fix the part he broke. I then, by this time and beyond frustrated, ask him for the bill. When I look at the bill the total is $682.13 just to fix a trip to GFCI outlet. I asked him is this for real, are you kidding me he then states that the bill is high because he has to charge travel to site, 45min return from site and time spent on job. Not want to argue with him in front of my children, I pay the invoice and told him that I will be writing negative reviews for the company and he says go ahead it's not my company, I only work for them! homeowner beware: These guys are rip-off artist for sure. The job was a simple 240v outlet install nearby Panel box. During initial phone call: I'd explained I have visually verified there's ample space in my 200A panel box, the 240v 6-50 outlet is going to be situated mere 2 feet away, and could be external surface box. All easy. I was quoted 190/hr + materials. Joe came over @10:30am, quick inspection and confirm what i said is correct. he did offered "since he needed to open the drywall to locate the wires, he could install a flush mounted box against stud". We both agreed this is an easy job, should be quick. He stated he didn't have the 8gauge wire, nor the dual 40-breaker and need to buy parts. I suggested going to a Lowes (which is minutes from my home) for the supplies. After awhile, he returned from Home Depot (he says he's more comfortable as he knows their layout), however they didn't have the breakers. To move the job along, he will use one of my existing 40A breakers for this job. So far, seems ok right? Here's the issues... 1) what about the existing 40A which ran to my AC, now I need to replace that myself & get it wired back in. Or reschedule them to come out again? 2) Joe cut open a fairly large hole in the drywall. who will fix that? Should've simply put a surface box, and fish the wire through. 3) he arrived at 10:30am, leaves at 10:50am to get parts, returns at 11:35am, and finish the above task at 12:05pm. He charged me for 2 hours of labor from 10am to 12pm. !!!! 4) he charged parts inclusive of 125feet of 8 gauge wire, but I only needed and use 3 feet. that wire pack was $125, all parts were ~ $135 total. after he finished, and quickly clear his gear. I was wondering where's the extra wire I'd been charge for. well, he took that with him. so I am left with a open dry wall, missing 40A breaker for my HVAC and a mess to clean up. After, I drive to Lowes (3 mins from my house), and guess what - they had the dual-40A breakers, wires in a shorter length. I spent the entire afternoon, putting the 40A back to the HVAC, cutting the replacement drywall and re-double checking all the wires, making it all look right. I ask my friend who's an electrician, and he noted none of this is suppose to happened. for the job I'd describe, a license electrician should've everything in the truck and it's an hour job tops. The moment your electrician says they need to get parts, be cautious. The 1 positive: they came quick & courteous. whereas other electricians were book solid till next week. read more

I had Kaiser Electric install two ceiling fans the other day. We already had the electrical ceiling boxes in place -- the electrician just had to attach the wiring. I was charged over $600 for the installation, which I thought was really expensive. (I paid more for than installation than the fans themselves.) read more
