Extremely professional and efficient. Dave was very personable and knowledgeable. He recently installed a television in my home. He managed to hide a variety of cords and wires within my wall in minutes. Dave also mounted my tv on an articulating wall mount. I cannot say enough about how incredible this feature is. Do not give Newtown Electronics your credit card # if you request them to come out to do any work for you. Please deal with them in checks. I called David to do some work on my bell. I had requested that he call me before doing the work as I was out of town and I had someone else staying there. I had approved $120 of initial visit on my credit card to estimate the work but they started the work without talking to me first then did all this extra work without my approval then charged me for the work!! I never agreed on the amount charged! David Funk is a sneaky guy, please be careful if you are going to use him. I had estimated the charge would be around $150 to fix my doorbell, instead he charged $467.99 on my credit card without my approval. I made the mistake of giving him my credit card number - which I said he was to use only for the initial charge and had requested that he call me for an estimate and send me a bill so that I could mail him a check for tax records. I have the charge currently in dispute with my credit card company as well as I am filing a report with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs of Pennsylvania. Here is a summary again of what David Funk did of the work request: I had only approved the amount of $120 for a bell fixed on my house. I had requested that they charge me $120 for the initial visit on my credit card and then cost of the bell and I had requested that they talk to me on the phone before installing the bell with the total estimation. They never gave me the estimate and they fixed two other things in the house that I had NEVER requested for and they charged me $467.99 without my approval. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience with Newtown Electronics. First of all, my husband took off a day of work for a repair man that did not show up. It seems the replacement part had not been delivered and nobody bother to call us to reschedule. Then when Newtown Electronics finally came to my home to perform the repair, I was charged $374.50 to replace a bathroom vent that cost $98. The repair man worked in my home for only 30 minutes. The labor rate, per hour, was $85 however, Newtown Electronics charged me an extra $224 for their travel time. read more

My name is Bill M. I have been the building manager and v/p of marketing/sales for Ultrasound Services, Inc.,for 28 years.Our physical building is a shared partnership between four partners. We are located at 27 Blacksmith Rd. Newtown, Pa. My job responsibilities are vast, but mainly being responsible to the partnership with ANY & ALL issues relating to our 40,000 +/- sq ft building. I needed an experienced electrician to install and wire the burglar/fire alarms, video surveillance,non-functioning intercoms fixed and a complete back-up generator system for our building. I always report to the partners and take full responsibility for getting the best price and workmanship, so of course, i was seeking multiple bids. Because of the size and nature of complexity of this project, I went to the internet looking for positive contractor feedback; yellow pages, Angies list, etc..I came across another site called "Yelp". There was comment about one of my bidding contractors, Dave Funk. Dave is from Newtown electronics. He is a local guy and I heard great things about his business and his integrity. I have worked with so many contractors in my life for commercial and residential projects so I knew what to look for and what I wanted. When Dave came out to the job site to quote me a bid, I asked about the post on "yelp". He explained EVERYTHING to me. Lets just say, he got the job. This project was difficult and complex, as there were so many different issues that needed to be dealt with, yet when the smoke cleared, everything was finished to perfection. Dave is probably hands down the most skilled, professional contractor I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. He kept in constant contact, explained all the issues (so I could understand) throughout the entire project and made me look like a hero to the partnership and was the lowest bid. Newtown Electronics installed a backup generator for our house about a month ago, and we are very pleased with it. It actually went on for about an hour already during a brief power outage that we had in Newtown last week.
