Two local shops never called back. Wire Doctors strength is they call you back and show up. The electrician was knowledgeable and friendly. I paid $815 for the repair of two GFCI outlets. Emergency room pricing. If you have an emergency, and don't care about cost, The Wire Doctors might be a good option. I explained I had several electric projects I needed someone to scope out. The show up fee was $89. That doesn't go towards any work eventually, it's just $89 flat. When the technician arrived, they were friendly and knowledgeable about basic electric work, but couldn't help with more advanced questions. They found two outlets that didn't work. They quoted me another $327 to diagnose and fix the problem. While that's an insane amount of money for an outlet replacement, I agreed to it. After they finished replacing the outlets, they told me it was going to cost another $254 for labor and parts. That's a grand total of $670.00 for a decent conversation and two outlet replacements. When I called the company after the fact, they refunded $150 and asked for a 5-star review. The technician said they would get back to me with a quote to replace my can lighting with led lights. They never got back to me with a quote (which I'm sure would have been over my budget anyway). read more

The communication with The Wire Doctors was polite, quick, and professional. I'm impressed with how quickly they got someone to my house, especially since it wasn't an emergency. I initially spoke to Jamie K and again before the technician arrived and afterwards to make sure everything was ok. I appreciated the constant communication. Andrew, the electrician was great. He was super friendly, on time, and professional but with a good personality, which I find rare. Andrew explained everything in detail and broke it down for me. We called them to come out and do a diagnosis for an electrical problem that we had and they were very late so had to come back another day. When they arrived 2 hours late the second day, they diagnosed the problem and charged us $650 just for the consultation. Their estimate for the work we needed done was over 10k! We called someone else who did a free consultation and they did the work for under 2k. Watch your wallet with these guys. read more

We had a VERY old hanging light fixture in our kitchen suddenly stop working. So my wife and I called the Wire Doctors to repair it and 2 other "might as well" items- an in ceiling light fixture, & a simple outlet install in our bathroom. The terms were explained well- $89 to step through our door & extra for any work to be done; in addition to any diagnosis- separate charges for every function. They charged my wife $170. What we received was a "diagnosis" of the kitchen hanging fixture & in ceiling light- neither could be repaired; the hanging fixture is "too old", and the in ceiling light would require the tech to "go in the ceiling". He never addressed the outlet install despite my wife's REPEATED requests that he do so. So we were charged $170 for a tech to come to our home, spend 30 minutes or so examining our "old" light fixtures, & NO WORK WHATSOEVER. They won't get another dime of our money- I would suggest you look somewhere else for an electrician. *UPDATE* The following business day (6/11/2020 Today), we received a return call from Scott (presumably the head tech). After explaining what I wrote above, Scott offered us a refund. The customer service Scott gave was very good. He made a bad situation tolerable. read more

We called them for an emergency service and they showed up in a timely manor. They gave us an estimate of $4508 to rectify the problem. After getting more estimates and the repair completed it cost $750. All the other estimates were around $750. read more

Today we saw the van on the parking lot of the Net Cost market in the Northeast Philly with The Wire Doctors Electrical Services sign on it. are looking for good electrician and my husband decided to ask the gentleman that was getting into the van about possibility of using his services. The answer made my jaw drop! Although he was a Russian speaking gentleman and my husband spoke with him in Russian , the answer was that he doesn't work with Russian people, only with Americans?! Had the outside electric box torn off our house by a truck that was too high to be going down the street. Called The Wire Doctors to come to replace and repair damage, after a very confusing day of getting the company responsible to send them the 42 hundred dollars they required to do the work, this after a fee of 89.00 to come out they replaced the box to the wall and supposedly repaired all the wires back into the box? We wake up to our newer central air/ heater not working? House was super hot and we have 2 little kids plus myself who has a heart condition and COPD, which they were well aware of, we call them to come see what they could have done or not have done correctly only to be told on the phone they did nothing wrong? How a working ac/heater was working fine before they did the work and wasn't after they left, but they could diagnose over the phone they did nothing wrong? My husband asked if they couldn't please stop by to at least check since they were here until 11:30 last night and they were the only people to touch it, he was told we would have to pay them another 89.00 plus a diagnosis charge after giving them 4200.00 the night before?? We let them know we were not will to pay them more since it was obvious it was their work or lack of that caused it, they refused to come unless we paid it? We ended up paying the heating company that originally installed the unit to come diagnose the problem and it was the fact they didn't not connect it back to the box properly? How can you trust a company that refuses to stand by their work, especially since they had just completed the work only the night before? They plain refused to even come out to check without demanding more money above the large amount they were just paid? My husband called to tell them it was shown they did not connect properly only to have them insist on arguing they did nothing wrong? So not only won't stand by their work and try to make more money off of a customer but they were horribly rude/ignorant towards a customer they just made a good amount of money off of! Do not trust this company and definitely not in an emergency! Seems that's a great time for them to take advantage of you!
