I saw these guys on instragram so I had to come in and check out the store. I'm particularly a fan of NBA champion jerseys. The store definitely has that 90s throwback feel from the music to the posters to the old video game and action figurines. Clothing on the racks is a nice selection of items well organized and hung up. Owner seemed knowledgeable and well informed. I didn't purchase anything mainly because the items were so expensive especially compared to eBay or even Brooklyn flea vendors, particularly for the NBA champion jerseys which I specialize in. In addition, I thought they would have more wwe wwf items all in all, worth a visit if you are a throwbacks/90s fan but you're unlikely to find that steal of a deal

They moved across the street. Bigger and better y'all. New address: 437 9th st

Literally love this place. It's been a year since I stepped foot into this joint, I think exactly a year (counting months not days) and since they moved across the street next to the barber shop they have more space! They hold this neat basketball court vibe, with the store being long and the flooring being beige (if I remember correctly). Longer stores means- longer clothing rails-which means, more clothes! They still got the good stuff: jerseys, jackets, windbreakers (the sporty folks call it something else), FRESSSHHHH sneakers and then for the gaming folks a coin game near the window. Definitely missed stepping into this place. I'll come back again to finally buy something lol.

    Dope hat great price.

Man, who would have thought on my food crawl Wednesday I would find a gem like this. My friend victor took me down his old neighborhood and said "man we have to check out this store real quick" after greeting his old friend Mr.throwback I proceed to get lost in what seemed to be a time machine into my childhood. With classic Nike air Jordan's on display and space jam jerseys front and center for your eyes to day dream of having to money to purchase any size available. I couldn't believe the awesomeness this store holds inside. After talking with the owner for a bit, I learned how down to earth he is great guy very entertaining and very serious about his store. They have almost ever Jersey I could think of, NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. This is a great spot to checkout, worth traveling from around the world get your hands on some real classics. They even have Jordan's for sale at a very fair price, I even saw a pair of 2s DS under retail. I'll def becoming back to the store hands down great experience.

Super kind staff and always interesting finds that fuel those feelings of good nostalgia. Especially love the array of NBA collection of jerseys and the various sales on different collections of merchandise through out the year, a must stop by if you are a sports fan.

Absolutely love this store. There was a raffle held for NY Knicks season opener at the garden. I won! I decided to then head down to the store and show my appreciation for winning the raffle and while in store picked up an awesome Earl "The Pearl" Monroe knicks Jersey... autographed! Staff is awesome. Store carries anything and everything involving sports. Will definitely be picking up a few more gems from them.

E.g. an old cashmere sweater full of holes $30, a small yarn of wool not enough for making a cap $10, tacky no quality jewelry above $20, etc. Still some people come and are looking for some "treasures", this cannot happen, because all those might never reach the store shelves. However, I would give a high credit to a foreign born owner (barber) to establish those stores to absorb at least to some extent so much clothing and other items that otherwise would have finished in the garbage cans. This only underlines an urgent need to establish a high capacity thrift stores in dense populated affluent Manhattan areas, at least 3 mega Good Will stores were closed in Manhattan during last few years, apparently because of a total incompetence of the top highly overpaid staff and not dealing with mass corruption at all levels, best valuable items hardly make it into stores or appear on online auctions. So, if a foreign born owner can run those stores and still with some profit, why across the country tax free store chain decades in existence cannot do the same?

L Train has single handedly gotten me more "Damn where did you get that from lil bro it looks…read morefire..." than any other clothing store in Manhattan, and on an inflation buster budget. I'm so sick and tired of going into a "vintage" store where T-shirts are $100 and up. It goes against the whole ethos of vintage clothing smh. The whole fun of shopping vintage is coming up on a piece for the low. Shirts at L train are typically between $8-$15, unless they're hanging up on the wall then they will run you ahahaha. They have such a big inventory and wide selection of items that it may get overwhelming, but if you come in here locked in and keep your composure you will come up on something forsure. Go during the week though if possible, it's a ZOO on the weekends you'll be fighting for your life. I have gotten my 3 favorite pairs of jeans here for under $40 total, the velvet suit jacket I'm wearing in the attached pic for $12, some Lebron 3s that have become my outdoor hoop shoes for $40, and more shirts than I can count. L Train is so great, in fact, that it has almost become cool to hate on. If you're lowkey insecure about your homie having a better fit on than you, you try to get ahead of it and clown him by saying "You hit L Train today, huh?" THANK YOU L TRAIN! PLEASE DON'T SWITCH UP! I agree with the other Jennifer L.--, wandering a massive thrift store is practically a sport. For me AT is a guilt free pleasure and well deserved break from work. Parking: Avoid the small lot during peak times. Park on the street or in the lot across the street. Pricing: Yes, prices are creeping up, but that's the case for all thrift stores, and this is a for-profit store. I do see some weird "Wheel of Fortune pricing" on random items (like Corning Ware or Vince clothing), but I just let it go. There are still deals to be found, and they are replenishing items all day long. Discounts & Bags: Look at the monitors to see what is 50% off, or snap a pic of the today's sales sign on your way in. A note on shopping bags: yes, they make you check them in. Bring a huge blue IKEA bag, check it in, get your ticket, and grab a cart. Carts disappear fast on busy days. Dressing Rooms & Bathrooms: There are 3 fitting rooms and 2 bathrooms. They will ask you to park your big shopping cart outside because it's a cramped setup, and there is a 5-item max allowed in the fitting room at a time. The Elevators: They are not broken; they are just slow. It's an old factory building, and the elevators are shared with the staff who are restocking all areas all day long. It just requires some patience. The One Change I'd Make: I wish they would hang up some mirrors--at the very least near the coats or scarves. It would save so many extra trips back to the dressing room. Checkout: The line to pay ebbs and flows. It can be winding around the store, or it can have four people total. Even when the line looks scary, it does move. The cashiers are friendly; sometimes one might be having an off day, but that is rare.

All were carefully curated and displayed. My only dismay was not being aware of the important work the shop does as a non-profit before I randomly popped in as I was enjoying a stroll for some "me" time during a busy family trip. The woman with glasses, who I assume was the "manager/owner", was very passive aggressive with me and came off disrespectful and unwelcoming. I overheard her negotiating pricing on some items with other customers and when I was ready with my two vintage cameras (to be used for decor/props) and one pretty beat up purse (all totaling $75 w/o tax), I inquired if they were willing to do $70 for all. I wasn't sure what taxes the city/state charged so I wanted to be sure had enough on my card (a visa gift card a friend gave me when I was diagnosed with cancer) to cover the taxes. She loudly and obnoxiously replied "NO. WE DON'T HAGGLE HERE". I found it repulsive and aggressive when I had been so overly kind and impressed with the shop during my visit. It certainly caught me off guard. Especially after hearing her indeed "negotiate" pricing with other guests. She didn't even make eye contact with me but made sure to speak her words loud enough to try to embarrass me. I was not embarrassed, rather appalled and disgusted. So much so that I recalled other travelers from my party and told them not to come down to the shop. On the other hand, the two male clerks working with me were so kind, lovely and helpful during my visit. Kudos to them for staying pleasant and gracious in that moment that was intended for ugliness. While the encounter at the very end of my trip soured my visit, I would still encourage others to go and I will likely be back again next time. After visiting their website trying to figure out what I did wrong, I see that the work they do is impactful.
