They have a wide range of vintage gear, especially Yankees, Mets, and Knicks. They differ from most vintage stores because their items are in good condition, I believe everything is new. I will say I think their price points on certain items are overpriced. Although, some of the prices are labeled high, they will slightly negotiate because I saw a lady negotiating a slightly lesser price on a t-shirt while I was there. I saw these guys on instragram so I had to come in and check out the store. I'm particularly a fan of NBA champion jerseys. The store definitely has that 90s throwback feel from the music to the posters to the old video game and action figurines. Clothing on the racks is a nice selection of items well organized and hung up. Owner seemed knowledgeable and well informed. I didn't purchase anything mainly because the items were so expensive especially compared to eBay or even Brooklyn flea vendors, particularly for the NBA champion jerseys which I specialize in. Literally love this place. It's been a year since I stepped foot into this joint, I think exactly a year (counting months not days) and since they moved across the street next to the barber shop they have more space! They hold this neat basketball court vibe, with the store being long and the flooring being beige (if I remember correctly). Longer stores means- longer clothing rails-which means, more clothes! They still got the good stuff: jerseys, jackets, windbreakers (the sporty folks call it something else), FRESSSHHHH sneakers and then for the gaming folks a coin game near the window. My friend victor took me down his old neighborhood and said "man we have to check out this store real quick" after greeting his old friend Mr.throwback I proceed to get lost in what seemed to be a time machine into my childhood. With classic Nike air Jordan's on display and space jam jerseys front and center for your eyes to day dream of having to money to purchase any size available. I couldn't believe the awesomeness this store holds inside. After talking with the owner for a bit, I learned how down to earth he is great guy very entertaining and very serious about his store. They have almost ever Jersey I could think of, NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. This is a great spot to checkout, worth traveling from around the world get your hands on some real classics. Instead of searching through endless thrift shops, I found out that the NBA store and Mr. Throw Back had them in stock. It has been a life long childhood dream of mine to own an authentic red Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan jersey. The issue though is Michael Jordan and Nike are now charging $300+ to own a jersey with his name, in fact you can't even create a custom jersey with his name or number on nba website. Learning about this left me with a familiar defeated feeling like when I was younger, to know I probably would never be able to afford / own this jersey. A month or so passed and then through the miraculous wonders of social media I stumbled across Mr. Throw Back, the owner has a captivating personality, and so I browsed his website day in and day out for two months waiting for a Jordan jersey to arrive. The day finally came where a Michael Jordan #45 size XL jersey became available, I immediately purchased the jersey even though I wear a size large. I was thrilled with my new purchase, but only to find 12 hours later they got a #23 jersey size large in stock, just my luck lol. I reached out nervously to the store through social media to see if they would be so kind as to change out my jersey for a proper size. The customer service was so friendly & helpful, they worked with me to locate the exact one I wanted from their inventory, and thus helped to ensure my life long search for this jersey was complete. Hands down one of my favorite stores in the East Village! I have yet to go back after my first visit but I stayed there for almost an hour one evening! There is the most amazing old school jerseys and some seriously sick jackets that I deeply fell in love with. I was told the owner works with a celebrity stylist and has some incredible one-of-a-kind pieces (take my word). I regret not buying a couple! And let me not forget his amazing collection of Super Nintendo games! We even played a bit :D I was a little rusty, but overall had an amazing experience! First off I want to say that this little store has lots of cool items specifically for me their sports jersey's the problem is they are over priced, many of the jersey's I saw in this place can be had on ebay for half the price, secondly the prices are high because of the location which I usually avoid. I wanted to check this place out and I decided to go when I got there it was closed at 1230 pm with a silly clock sign on the door saying they had left for lunch and would be back in an hour? not great practice if you ask me, especially when you have customers sitting outside waiting for you to eat lunch for an hour while the store is closed. I would say this store is great for tourists and people who shop with their eyes only. Beware dont show up at lunch time and prices are very expensive in this place make sure you check around before dropping $$$ in this place, just sayin. read more
