ive been coming here for years and I thought this shop was honest but that is untrue. I understand it is a mechanic job to upsale but I feel completely taken advantage of. I went in to get an oil change and mentioned that since they put new tires on my car about two weeks before I noticed a noise and asked if they could check. I get a call saying that my axle is warped and I need two new axles in the back. I don't know almost anything about cars but this sounded off. axles don't warp... I asked how long Bobby thought it would be drivable and he said maybe a week I should get it taken care off. Bobby wrote me up a quote for 1700 $ for my two back axles. when I got to the shop the mechanics and Bobby told me there was a lot of pull on my axles and that if there was a noise that's where it's coming from. I asked did you guys testt drive it and hear the noise and they told me no. when I got to my car i looked at the quote and thought let me just check to see how much these parts would be at auto zone. The axle is 170 at auto zone and they were trying to charge me 500 for one axle at Mr tire. i get trying to make a bonus but that is just wrong and sketchy. I then took my car to another shop and explained what i was told and unsurprisingly they called BS. they looked at my car and told me there was nothing wrong with my axle. when they test drove my car and let me know the sound was just the tires adjusting. I recently visited Mr. Tire for an oil change and to address a low tire pressure light. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Here's what happened: Oil Light Ignored: When I brought my car in, the oil light was on, indicating a critical issue with my engine. Despite this, the shop failed to note or address the oil light during their initial inspection. When I got my car back, the oil light was still on, which is completely unacceptable. This is a serious oversight that could have caused significant damage to my engine. Shaking Issue After Tire Service: After leaving the shop, my car started shaking aggressively at speeds over 47 mph. This issue did not exist before I brought my car in. When I returned to the shop, they provided an estimate for over $900, including a control arm replacement. However, their own pre-work inspection report showed no evidence of control arm failure. The shaking was likely caused by improper tire balancing or alignment, which they should have fixed at no additional cost. Poor Customer Service: I waited over 3 hours just to have my car looked at. The managers were distracted and discussing how all the assistant managers had just been fired, which made me feel like my concerns were not a priority. The person explaining the issues and repairs to me was not a mechanic and refused to take responsibility for the damage caused by their service. Instead, they simply handed me a $900+ estimate and expected me to pay for their mistakes. Unnecessary Repairs Suggested: The shop tried to sell me a control arm replacement, but their own inspection report showed no evidence of control arm failure. This feels like an attempt to upsell unnecessary repairs rather than address the actual issues caused by their service. Lack of Accountability: The shop refused to take responsibility for the shaking issue or the unaddressed oil light, both of which were clearly caused by their negligence. Instead, they tried to charge me for repairs that were not needed. Conclusion: This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an auto service center. The shop's negligence, poor customer service, and attempt to upsell unnecessary repairs have left me with no confidence in their ability to provide quality service. I strongly advise others to think twice before visiting this location. There are far better and more trustworthy mechanics out there. I will be contacting the BBB and corporate. Mr. Tire needs to update their hours of operation to reflect when they're actually open because now I have to spend over $300 that I don't have get my car out of impound for their inaccuracy. Something went wrong in my car yesterday (Sunday) so I went straight to Mr. Tire since I was under the impression it would be open, per their listed hours. It was not. My car died while I was on the main road and began smoking. I was able to keep it rolling into the parking lot of Mr. Tire and parked in front of the garage, then immediately turned it off, got out, and stepped away. Then I realized the shop was not open, but I had no other way to move my car away from their garages. I got there 20 minutes before they opened this morning to explain why my car was there and ask for help, but they had already towed it by the time I showed up. When I tried to communicate with the two males inside, they showed absolutely no empathy, respect, or professionalism when explaining that they towed me. They were condescending, trying to say that I should've parked in a parking spot. When I explained my situation and that I thought my car was going to blow up since it was smoking and my priority was to get away from the vehicle, one of the guys laughed at me. The attitude I received from the employees of Mr. Tire this morning was unacceptable. I thought they would be able to help me, instead they made my situation worse than it already was. read more

Scheduled an appointment to have a hole repaired in a tire and an exhaust leak. My appointment was scheduled for 0800, nobody opened the store until 0830. Then only one new tech was available. So two hours later I'm still waiting for a single tire to be plugged and leaving this place without fixing the second part. Don't waste your time here. Very unreliable business. This Mr. Tire shop made my family's day. First-class service across the board, starting with DJ's friendly "bring it on down and we'll fix your car as soon as we can" -- late on a Saturday when every other mechanic was closed. Then Steve craftily repaired a freak undercarriage panel problem with our Prius, quick enough for us to make it to a wedding reception. Finally, a friendly young employee ran a baby item we'd forgotten out to our car the next day. No upsell or pressure, just a professional operation. Would definitely return. Top marks! read more

Called for an appointment for four new tires and an alignment. The man who made the appointment took all my information and quoted me $406.00. Walked in no less than twenty minutes ago and they had no record of my appointment but strangely enough they found what I was quoted. The man who made the appointment quoted me the wrong tires and it would now cost me $546.00 without the alignment. Not a happy camper and at the moment I don't care if another tire place quotes me the same $546.00 - I'm going elsewhere. I got up early for this, did everything I needed to do to make it on time and cancelled an early appointment. Never again. read more

Brought my fusion in for new brakes, was able to call on Friday evening for a Saturday morning appointment. Dropped car off Saturday morning where Bobby and the staff happily helped me get in and out quickly for much less $$ than I was anticipating. Don't go here, went several times and they couldn't find an issue, the 4th time we went, they found nothing even though i told them exactly where it was coming from, they found nothing, even after doing a tire rotation. we drove down the road to another one, they took the rear tire off and found that the spring was completely broke in half and digging into the tire, mind you, they did a tire rotation and didn't catch any of that and the one they rotated had been dug into as well and had a deep rut in it like tread. Took the car to a friends house and the spring finally dug in enough and popped the tire. Legally they could have been in trouble, instead they gave me all four new struts and tires and my wife did it herself. I have the video to prove it. read more

This people are all about making money. Took my van in for an oil leak they promised it would be done same day. That evening we get a call it wouldn't be done till the next day which is okay because it needs to be fixed. The problem arises when the next day they call saying the technician has seen these problems would you like him to look at it? When really the technician is going TO DO work without checking with you or providing an estimate. Only mechanic shop I've been to that doesn't verify work with you before starting. I went to Mr. Tire to get my tires rotated, balanced, aligned. I went inside to schedule an appointment and had Bobby check out my tires. Upon him inspecting them he noticed the front tires tread were getting very low and suggested to get new tires. Sure I could of saved around $35 if I ordered the tires online and delivered to them but Bobby and Greg were giving me good customer service, so I think it was worth the extra money. I ordered the two new tires through them which they had by the next day but my appointment wasn't until the following day (not because they didn't have any openings but because I was busy that day). I dropped my car off at 10am (Saturday) and was told it would be ready in an hour and a half. Sure enough at around 11:30am I got a call from Greg telling me my car was ready for pickup. I get all the paperwork done and Greg showed me how misaligned my front tires were, explaining why the tread on my tires got wore down the way they did. They were friendly, informative and a fast turn around for my tire replacement, balance and alignment. Overall Great Service. read more

I brought my father's van in to have the tires replaced. Rick was my customer service member. I came in on 11/23/20 for an estimate. He provided me with several choices and I brought them to my father. I came back in 11/25/20 to have the tires replaced. I must say that I'm very picky about doing business when it comes to customer service as they are the first impression when you walk in and the last when you walk out. Rick was genuinely nice, treated me as a valued customer, didn't act too busy or annoyed that I asked questions and I gained confidence in the business. They replaced the tires and completed the alignment in a timely manner. I must say that I was impressed with their prices. Would I do business again? Absolutely! I give them the highest referrals! I have been going to this mr. Tire for a couple of years. I have gotten mostly oil changes and tire rotations. Basic matainence. about once a year before the winter, i go to other more expensive shops. They will reccomend very expensive things to get done to my car. I never do it. I go back to mr tire in great mills and ask vauge questions about the issue the expehsive shop mentioned. They check it and say its not necessary or they say it is. The management changed a few years ago. They also moved mechanics around. I like the current crew. The mechanics and manager Bobby Phillipi get along great. They are funny and friendly with staff and customers. They are also fast. Oil changes don't take long oraddtional tasks like changing fluids or tire rotation. read more

I went to Mr. Tire to get service done on my vehicle. They had a special which would save me some money and the manager, Randy said the job could be done in a couple of hours. I signed the guesstimate and came back to see my car parked in the same spot. This is where the bullshit starts; at the counter I asked another person about the car. He said it wasn't done but you're in soon! I asked for my keys which the person hesitantly gave back as I had to be back at work. I asked why it wasn't done and the person said there was NO TIME. I like the honesty but the service - crappy. No calls and the manager hiding in the back? Says a lot about this company. read more

I visited this location (Lexington Park, MD) several months ago. I had a low tire. I had asked if they could put air in it. The mechanic I spoke with agreed and helped me out. I then asked if he minded if I stayed for a few minutes to make sure it held. If so, I'd be on my way. If not, I'd have them repair it. He didn't have an issue with that. Within a couple minute, the store manager (who I'll leave nameless at the moment due to the "piece of work" this young man is. Wouldn't put it past him to go to any length) came out and confronted me with a belligerent attitude, made accusations that I was trespassing and up to no good, in his opinion. Didn't even afford me the opportunity to explain the above mentioned situation. He ordered me off the property. Not sure if it's worth mentioning or not, but this young man looked to me in his mid to late 20's, I'm in my late 50's. "Up to something?" I think not. In fact, I never felt so insulted in my life. Tempted to throw the disrespect flag on this one. I left, but the situation ate away at me so much that I called later to talk to someone in authority about my recent dealings. He informed me, only at that moment, that he was the store manager. Oh...really??? I asked for a number for corporate or district. He refused to give it to me. In fact, it was at that point that he suddenly started offering me service. I tried calling for the next couple of days, hoping to get someone else and get the number I was looking for. He kept answering the phone, started getting belligerent again. I finally felt that I was the better man and gave it up. After several months had passed ( I had been going directly to the dealership for service in the meantime) I decided to give it another shot. This was yesterday. Had a similar situation. This same young man was there. Not only that, but he remembered me and the situation. Water under the bridge, I thought (and mentioned). Not to him. He was still grudging me for it and turned me away, refused service. I then thought to call a different location after I left, had spoken to the manager there and explained my situation. This guy was clearly not happy with the treatment I received and insisted that I call the district manager, gave me his number. I called. The guy heard me out, totally appeared to be on my side. Stated that he was going to confront the guy, and termination was even possible. Not sure what transpired, probably none of my business, but driving by the place today, the guy was still there. I'll never give another dime of my hard earned money to any of their locations until I have piece of mind that the situation was dealt with accordingly. Advice for the store manager: You may want to consider a different career path if you're that sensitive. read more

I received horrible service here. I took my car in because it was low on coolant. They explained the low coolant was caused by a leak and they would order and replace the parts; They would call me soon as the parts came in. I called two weeks later to see if the parts came in and they claim the parts came in but someone sent them back. Finally I drop my car off for service and was told the labor would take 3 hours. Less than a hour later I got a call saying my car was ready to be picked up. So I was charged for 3 hours of labor yet 3 hours of service wasn't performed on my vehicle. As i drive the car home less than 10 minutes later the light came back on. Once I took the car back to them they said there is a another leak. One they can't see and would have to remove all the hoses to get to. This would take 4 hours to complete and after parts are ordered the price would be $1,000 in addition to the $800 already paid.... No thank you. I asked why they would give my car back knowing the issue wasn't fixed. They claimed they performed a test drive after the repairs yet the mileage didn't change. If they did a test drive they would've seen the coolant light come back on. When I asked for a refund I was told it wouldn't get approved. When I asked what's steps to take if I am denied a refund I was told I don't have a leg to stand on in court. I am highly disappointed with this business and I will not go back. read more

Don't ever go here unless it's for simple basic oil changes. I had a power steering line leaking and the "mechanic" said it had to be done by a DEALER, and after calling the dealer they said that's not true. Then the front desk person couldn't answer any questions, could only reply with "I'm not a mechanic". They told me the repair was "out of their control", AKA it was too hard for their apprentice mechanic apparently. Even though it was "out of their control", they still managed to quote me almost $1,000 and the actual repair cost ended up being $400. Again, SIMPLE oil changes maybe, but even then I would go elsewhere. read more

First and foremost i have had great experiences with the Mr.Tire in Prince Frederick by me but this shop in lexington park was a nightmare. To begin the counterperson couldn't figure out anything on the computer to begin telling me a quote on the work that needed to be done. Next we had to ask the mechanic how long it would take because no one else had a clue. In the end it took twice as long and was twice as expensive. Once we saw the bill they could not even explain the reason we were being charged $450 instead of $237. Even the manager of the Mr.Tire by us explained that it made no sense and tried to call them and to get an answer but got frustrated by the incompetence of the staff there. These people are backyard mechanics and have no clue how to provide proper services. I wouldn't let them work on a bicycle after this circus show. We only used their services because we broke down 100 feet from their shop. This was the first and last time we will ever be going to them. I deal with all many auto shops in my line of work and have seen this type of dysfunction and lack of professionalism. Avoid this chop shop at all cost. read more

Took our van in yesterday to get back breaks replaced. DJ the manager kept finding everything he could wrong! I got my son involved when DJ kept bringing all this stuff up and with my son's knowledge from being a mechanic for many years knew something was not right. Our son was dumbfounded at how much Mr. Tire was going to charge for breaks and routers. So I went and bought them and took them to Mr. Tire. Not only were they upset about it as they were loosing money but, charged more for labor even though there was no difference in time spent on replacing everything! I miss Robby! He was honest and would not suggest something if it were not needed. I think Robby was replaced with someone who has no issues of telling people they need this or that based on mileage rather than need to bring in more money into the store! We will no longer deal with them nor recommend them to anyone else! Oh, and I told DJ point blank NOT to do what they call a nose dive where they bring the vehicle up to a certain speed and slam on the breaks which is not good for the vehicle and they did it anyway! Then DJ said the driver heard a noise when he did that and said the control arm bushings needed replaced but never said if it was upper or lower. Now we don't know if by slamming on the breaks after I specifically told them NOT to did any damage or...are they simply trying to take advantage of me! I asked DJ if this was dangerous as we are traveling to West Virginia on Saturday and he said "No" but needed replaced and said something about the front end. He just kept rambling and just trying to get a straight answer out of him was exhausting because he couldn't give one, period! I told him I wanted simple and straight answers as he was causing my blood pressure to go up but even then he could care less and still rambled on! And the way he and another guy bashed Robby was very unprofessional and down right wrong! So we will no longer deal with Mr. Tire in Lexington Park, MD! read more
