Came in because my car was making that telltale squeaking sound when it's time for the brake pads to be replaced. I've been in a couple times previously for oil changes and they're always very welcoming and friendly, especially the guy who works the front desk. They got my car in right away, quickly determined it was, in fact, the brake pads and they changed them and had me out the door within an hour. The office space is clean and comfortable and everyone who comes in seems like a customer they've known for years, even if it's the first time they've been there. Sometimes it can be hard to find a shop you feel like you can trust, but these guys have always been up front and honest whenever I come in. The letter received on January 13, 2025 is not accurate. 06/22/2024 I did not come in to get my my battery or started checked out. I came in to request them to check to see why my car sometime would not start. My battery was not faulty and did not need to be replaced because I had just purchased a battery from Toyota of Goldsboro. I was informed at that time that this was the cause of my car sometime would not start. My main purpose for going to them was for them to determine why my car would sometime crank and sometimes there's a delay for five minutes before it would crank again. They approached me regarding the oil leak, but my husband has a diagnostic device also and it showed the leak was a very small leak and previously I had been told by Precision Tune that this small leak was no big deal. The person who stated it was no big deal was a lady technician at their Old location (same street a few blocks from the new location). Precision Tune stated their letter that it was normal for a vehicle to have damages due to the age and mileages on a vehicle. I can show proof that my vehicle regularly had maintenance as required. If you get regular maintenance on a Lexus it has proven its ability to minimize trouble well past 300,000 miles. 06/24/2024- The main purpose of this visit was due to the fact that I was told on the they had repaired my vehicle on 06/22/2024, but the same problem existed. I took my vehicle back to them for them to fix the problem as asked them to. They came up with something different as to why my car would sometime start and sometimes has a delay. They stated this time that the problem was my vehicle needed an Ignition Coil Boot Kit ($256.26) and an Engine Value Cover Gasket($1,065.65). After all these repairs they still had not repaired my vehicle. It appears as if I was paying them to guess up a solution and I was paying for repairs that was not the the problem at all. At this point I became very frustrated, and I just dealt car not starting properly for approximately three or four months. On 11/15/2024 I decided to go back to Precision Tune. I spoke with Armand who was working at the front desk and addressed my concerns about my vehicle with him, He stated he understood and that a lot of work had to be redone on several vehicle doing the time I had my vehicle for services in the month of June. The technician who had been working on these cars in June had been fired. Now I know for sure that they had misdiagnosed my vehicle and had charged me to repair damaged to my vehicle which their technician they had fired had made. Knowing this fact , I assumed they were going to repair my vehicle without any cost to me. On this day, Precision Tune was very busy and I informed Armand that I would be very busy with my job until mid December prior to me going on vacation. On 12/18/2024 I returned to Precision Tune for them to repair my vehicle. I also informed them that once my car had been repaired I wanted them to complete a Premium Oil Change. They did not try to do the repairs on my car, but instead completed the Premium Oil Change. They stated they had to re-do the Dye Test. I asked them why would they complete a new Premium Oil Change on my vehicle when there was already oil available in my car for them to do the Dye test. There was no logical answer from them, but charged me for the Premium Oil Change. I was informed that I needed to drive the vehicle for two days to get the results of the Dye Test. On 12/20/2024 I returned to get the result of the Dye Test. I your letter you stated I never return for this service , which is not true. This is the day I spoke with a technician name Anthony, who stated for me to not worry because they would take care the problem. I informed him that I was going out of town for Christmas and my husband and I would be headed on vacation tonight. I asked him if he wanted me to leave my car with him while I was on vacation so that he would have sufficient time to fix my vehicle properly. He assured me that he would give me a call and I had no worries. We were on Vacation for 10 days and I never received a call from anyone. Although, I provided them with several contact numbers. I must emphasize that the information writing by the District Operations Manager is false regarding I never returned for services. On Monday, December 30th I went to Precision Tune to check on my vehicle since I had not heard from them in the 10 days. I asked Anthony why I had not received a call regarding my vehicle, but he was full of excuses. They had not worked on my car since I left it with them. They had left my vehicle outside of their building unlock and my vehicle had ben vandalized. My husband stated he spoke with Anthony or Armand regarding the Vandalism and one of then confirmed to him that they had left it outside and wasn't sure if they had locked it. I stopped by to get a coolant flush my car was running (warm not hot) because there was air in the line, I knew by the low price they would try and up sell me and I didn't mind and I expected it, but what I didn't plan on was that they would completely lie to me. They came back and said it's running very hot the fans were not working and I needed new relays which would cost me $200 + well a relay is a 5 min repair and a $5 part hmm When I argued they started to drop the price of the repair then they continued to make up what the problems may be and how the flush wouldn't help I said listen just do the flush and give me the car back I get the car back they not only left a mess of coolant under the hood but the fluid looks like it's old so they may not have even done anything... on top of that they didn't top it off so I ran warm on my ride home then I properly bled the air out of the system and fixed my issue. Please be aware the only reason they are trying to help you on prices is they are making up repairs. They ripped me off for $65 could've been way worse. read more

My husband came in for a oil change and it took 3 times for them to get it right threeeeeee!!! They weren't prepared the first time, second time had to apply oil filter and third time update the entire system. It's the little things, and between competent technical service, great customer service, and a nice lobby area, this is definitely the place to go around here. ---- This is - I believe - my third time working with Dennis and the Precision Tune team and I continue to be impressed. Normally I wait to review auto places because after a couple of times there's an issue, but here, there's been nothing but exemplary customer service, friendly staff, competent and exceptionally quick work, and great prices. I have nothing to complain about! Plus it's convenient - right off of 235 - and has coffee and wifi in the lobby if you can't just walk back to work (like me). I've had oil changes here, have had brake work done, and have had an alignment and not only has everything been done well, but if I had any questions, they were answered respectfully and without the disdain that some shops will have when asked a novice question. In fact, the last time I was in there, I asked to see what one of the issues was, and they took me out into the shop and showed me on my car what was going on. For any major work, I'm probably still going to be taking my car up to an Audi-specific shop (just because mine is a little bit temperamental...), but for everything else, this is absolutely the place to go. I'm greeted by Dennis every time I go here. You can walk in and wait a few minutes, or you can usually make an appt the day before for any time and they take you right at your scheduled time. I went for an oil change. With a coupon, I got the full-service oil change (which includes top-off of fluids, maintenance inspection, tire pressure adjustment, tire rotation) for 30 bucks. They noticed some things that were off and I went ahead and did it because of the great prices - AWD alignment for 69 bucks, which I had known I needed for a while but nobody else had ever mentioned it, coolant flush for 50 bucks, along with the repair of a leaky power steering fluid hose. I knew fluids needed to be flushed 10,000 miles ago but I never did it. I will definitely go back to these guys whenver I'm in town. read more

Came in for an alignment and oil change. We just bought the car and the steering wheel was shaking a bit after 65 so I figured it was an alignment issue or wheel balancing. Got the alignment done and had no improvement in steering wheel shaking. Headed to another shop for vehicle inspection and they would not pass the car due to alignment issues. Found my new oil change spot. New in town, and just needed a no frills oil change . Saw this place on the main drag and it looked ok, but didn't know where else to go. I had a previous misconception that Precision Tune Auto was just a cheapo place with bad service and where they would just want to scam me with some unneeded service. I was wrong. I first went online where they had numerous different oil change coupons. They had a reasonable one that included synthetic oil, top off, inspection, and tire rotation. They did not tack on any hidden fees over the coupons price. I called Saturday afternoon for an appointment and got one for Monday afternoon, which was nice for ease of scheduling. When I arrived, the facility was very clean and cozy, same with the waiting area. It didn't feel grimy, furnishings seemed newer. Free water and Keurig available, had some good flavors too. My child was able to play while waiting. Also nice was the windows into the work space which I'm sure kids would love. The gentleman who helped me was courteous and quick. The oil change and rotation itself was probably one of the top 5 fastest I have ever done. After, the clerk gave me the bill, identified a few recommendations for service which I already knew I needed (but less a few bogus ones the dealer always likes to tag on!) And answered one of my questions about the service . All in all, a great experience, and they even brought around the car for me all ready to go. That was done very quickly but before the tire rotation could be completed, I was informed that I needed a wheel alignment. Ok, fine. I paid to have an alignment performed on a 2014 chevy spark to correct a rear toe issue. The alignment was performed so fast that I questioned whether it was actually done correctly. When I asked the service manager what the results were he stated that they would only give the results of the alignment in writing "if we do a Maryland inspection." I then asked what was adjusted and he said "the whole thing, the whole front end." I questioned if the rear toe was adjusted and he told me over and over that it was not adjustable. When I pushed for the actual measurements I would only get "they were green." Having been a professional mechanic and performing alignments in the past, either this shop is lying to its customers or dangerously incompetent. I would have a hard time trusting any recommendations from this repair shop and would hate to see someone that didn't know better get taken advantage of. There is a similar review on here from 9 months ago where they did the same thing to another customer. Attached is a picture of the kit mechanics use to adjust the rear end alignment on this vehicle. A competent shop will give you before and after results in writing and typically charge you extra for the actual parts such as these used to make the adjustments. read more

Customer service is better at Hewitt's and the mechanic working always comes and talk to you - which I like. You do not get it here - you deal with Dennis who does not smile as Ashley reviewed below. However, I do not think he is rude either. He does present himself as an expert on cars - I do not think he means but he does come across to me as he knows all about my car problems and I do not. As long that does not intimidate you and you do not agree to any recommended service without understanding why it is needed - I will recommend this place. Now some of the pros - besides longer Saturday hours - If you make an appointment - the wait is minimal. The prices are reasonable and Dennis can find you a coupon to knock it down a little bit. I have been going to Precision Tune for at least 10 years for all tire and brake service. Never has there been a problem before. Service appointments were made, we never experienced a delay or issue. Big problems now. We made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for Sep 24th to have new tires installed, and new rotors and pads. That morning Precision called to say that a mechanic had called out and our appointment had to be cancelled and rescheduled. It was rescheduled for the afternoon of Sep 27. I arrived 30 minutes in advance. I observed 3 cars were on the racks, none being worked on, with a mechanic standing out in the parking lot just shooting the breeze with someone. For 30 minutes! At my appointment time of 3PM, I went to the desk and asked the guy at the desk if they were going to make my appointment. He told me it looked like they would not. I told him they had a real problem when their one an only mechanic on site was BS-ing outside, and no work was being done. I asked for my tires (that had been paid for and delivered by Tire Rack) and told him I would be going elsewhere from here on, I would find another shop to do my tire and brake work. AVOID PRECISION TUNE! Just a waste of time. read more

Terrible customer service. Offers online appointments, made one for 11am after receiving a coupon for a free oil change before February 15th. Showed up early at 10:30am only to be told I should have just called because they don't always receive online appointments. Then why even offer online appointments? Why not just say, "Call to make your appointment"? After being told I won't make my 11am appointment time, I showed my coupon that was sent to my house and even that turned into a big deal. I was told I should have brought in the top section of the letter and not just the coupon. Then why not explain that on the coupon? More trouble than its worth; rude customer service, no online appointment confirmations, just terrible. I have been dealing with Dennis for a few years now and will tell anyone that service is why I go there. I needed a new exhaust for my Toyota Tacoma and it was a lot cheaper than Toyota of Somd. The exhaust system came loose a few days later but Dennis apologized and the SAME DAY quickly identified the problem, no fault of their own. The manufacturer recommended the wrong bolt for the part.
