SCAM ALERT. These people are thieves. I brought my truck in for two new tires on the front. They removed all four, gave me the new tires I ordered and then put someone's USED tires, one of which is practically BALD, on the back which they weren't even supposed to touch. Whether this was a mixup, or the technician stole the tires I had on there, which were quite expensive at 300 a tire, the manager refused to own the mistake. Instead, he used shoddy "evidence" to call me a liar. He said he couldn't think of anything else to say that "would convince me that I'm mistaken' about what tires I had on my car previously and accused me of trying to "poke holes" in what he had to say. These people sent me away with unsafe tires on my family vehicle and left me worse off than I was before. STAY AWAY. read more

When I told them I work at a children's hospital and had patients waiting for me, they bumped me to the front of the line so I could get to work ASAP. I deeply appreciate their help! I've been going to Mr. Tire as far back as when it was still Vespia! Mr. Tire continued the tradition of excellent, reliable, and honest service by keeping the great staff I came to trust with my cars. It has continued to be led by John Woolever, Manager, a terrific and knowledeable guy who knows cars inside and out. This visit was a bit out of the ordinary. Long story short....after servicing my 2004 Tribute for the past 15 years (and 210,000 miles), it was time to say goodbye. The new repairs were just too extensive. John allowed me to keep the car at their shop until I could make arrangements to have it junked. Sad to see it go, but looking forward to getting a new car, and starting the relationship with Mr. Tire all over again! Thanks for the memories....:) read more

Needed new tires for Tesla Model Y Performance. Ordered from SimpleTire.com (great experience with them as well). Problem...due to my own error (purchase pre-owned but did not realize the original owner had swapped wheels) the first set of tires I ordered were the wrong size. The guys at Mr. Tire let me know as soon as they attempted to install the new tires...were very helpful and slotted me in right away when the replacement tires arrived. Friendly, helpful, responsive and the price was very reasonable. No hesitation recommending them based on my personal experience. read more

This shop is operated by lazy swindlers. You're better off going anywhere else. I came here 4 months ago for 4 new tires. The tires were extremely overpriced but I figured they'd do a good job because it's a tire place. I also paid for an alignment. When I went to pick up my car, they charged me an additional $150 for warranty without asking or disclosing. I didn't notice it until I got home and reviewed the bill. Also, my alignment was worse than before. One month later, I ran over a nail and got a flat. I patched it with a kit and it was fine for a few months. Then cold weather arrived and the same tire went flat again. I brought my car to Mr. Tire and asked to use my $150 warranty for a repair. They refused stating that I lost the warranty when I patched the hole from the nail. The next day, I went to pick up my car. They charged me $40 to "patch the valve stem." The following morning, the same tire was flat again. Apparently, Mr. Tire merely put air in my tire and charged me $40. Do not waste your time and money here. Literally any other shop in the Bridgewater-Raritan area will provide you with better services for a better price. read more

This place was very helpful and got me what I needed. The price itself wasn't bad but honestly I have never been in a more dirty unclean place of business. It was so dirty and disgusting in this place. I was very uncomfortable even sitting in the waiting room. I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time. They also had a disgusting tub of books and toys for kids to play with. Gross! I know this is a place that works on cars but it does need a bit of a make over and some Mr. Clean...Horribleness...Mr.Tire you can do way better. Why would you reply to tell me to tell me to call an #800 number? For what? That makes no sense. Please don't give this generic response as if that means you are taking care of the issue. There is no need for me to call you just know the place needs some work. No disrespect. read more

I had my tires done at this location with purchase through TiresEasy.com. No issues with the tires themselves. Upon driving home, I heard a loud "clunk" while braking from the rear of the vehicle. I called the store immediately and spoke to Chris who really tried to help me and offered to get me in for an appointment first thing the next day. Upon further inspecting myself, I found that my driver rear caliper was completely loose with a missing upper bolt from the caliper bracket. I called the store back and this time was connected to the service manager who told me to take the vehicle back to where I had the brakes done because they likely forgot to tighten the bolt and it "walked out". Despite explaining that I had driven hundreds of miles on these brakes without issue, and that it did not make sense for the caliper to come loose right after having the wheels serviced, he continued to argue that they did not work on the brake system and were not responsible. He told me I could still bring the vehicle in but that there would be a charge for replacing the bolt. The manager was condescending and rude without addressing my concern. I also noted that on my invoice, a "courtesy inspection" is listed which according to their website includes inspection of brakes. My suspicion is that the bolt was removed during this inspection and not replaced. Regardless, the customer service from the service manager was terrible and I would highly recommend you DO NOT bring a vehicle to this shop even for seemingly minor issues. read more

I use this shop for most of my car maintenance needs, I find the team here to be very honest and forthcoming. I brought my car in today for front break service one of the managers Victor called me to let me know I had tires that were very close to becoming unsafe. We discussed the options, and he even let me know about the tires that had rebates and discounts on them. I was able to get the work I needed done and the findings of the shop's exam on my car were presented in a very professional way, I didn't feel as though I was being "pushed" to agree to any repairs. In all my dealings with the team here, they are honest, professional and not pushy. Highly recommend this shop for any fixes or PM you may need on your car! read more

I have been coming here for decades because they're always honest and really do want to please their customers. I recently bought a used car & took it directly to them to find out if there were any serious problems and they went over her from tip to tail and replaced the parts that were urgent and gave me a timeliness of what will need to be done later. The next morning I discovered a small leak in the front, so they took her in right away and rectified the problem. Since I had called them earlier inquiring if my car had an antenna when I had it in (I told you I took it right from the dealer so wasn't sure if I ever had one) so when I bought it back for the leak they brought an antenna from the car parts store across the street and didn't charge me! These guys really do go beyond what people expect. They treat you like family! read more

I have been coming here for about 1 year and am excited to have finally committed to an auto service center. It can be frustrating finding mechanics that you can trust. Great, reliable service here. They are pretty straight forward. You might not get the most cheery disposition from them, but I wouldn't necessarily equate that to a lack of professionalism. I always get a thorough explanation and estimate before the work is started on my car. I've even been walked to my car while it's still in the garage, so that I can take a look under the hood, for example, if I had any questions. They have a decent-sized waiting room where I will often wait while my car is being serviced. Alternatively, the car can be left overnight to be looked at in the morning. So far, so good; therefore, I would highly recommend them. Also, they will no longer be accepting the Goodyear credit card in the near future, if not already; however, they do have their own credit card. I hate poor reviews for businesses because I understand that it's someone's livelihood. But my experience here was just awful and dangerous. Came in initially for tire change, which went off without a hitch, however they noticed that the brakes needed to be changed. I knew that my car probably needed it, so I trusted them and brought it back for new set of brakes. This is where everything just hit the fan. Got the brakes changed, got the car back the same day. Immediately, I noticed there were problems. On the way home, my car would start to shake and rattle whenever I went over 40 miles per hour. I brought my car back the next week for reevaluation, they noticed that something was indeed wrong and "repaired" it saying that there might still be some noise as they are new brakes. I was understanding, everyone makes mistakes and would've been happy with the results if it was fixed. One month later, car does not shake anymore but still rattles every time I go over a bump. Took it to different repair shop, who just laughed at the brake job they did. Parts were missing, they had no idea what was done to my car. I had to fork over an additional $1,200 to have their hack job repaired. Money is one thing, but to put their customers in danger with a poor brake job is very unsettling. I would advise everyone to look elsewhere if they want to have their brakes serviced. read more

OK, so I just got back from the store. I had tires shipped to them. The tires aren't run-flats because I prefer not to have them. They wear out more quickly and there is no repairing them once they are punctured. And yes, it is appropriate to go with non run-flats. Heck BMW even offers non run flat as an option. Having said that, I had just gotten to the counter and whoever this guy is that seems to be noted here as treating people like crap tells me "Whoever you bought those tires from knows even less than you. Put them in your car and leave." Dude says the tires can't be replaced with non run-flats. That's complete BS. I don't usually write reviews, but this was the nastiest person I've every experienced ANYWHERE. Total jerk. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to a) get abused by the owner; or b) get raped for extra service. If you go there do so at your own peril. read more

Just picked up my vehicle and very disappointed with Greg (short guy with glasses) who rang me up. I proceeded to tell them about damage to my hub cap (driver side rear) and the response given was "it was documented that the damage was there when you dropped off the vehicle". I walked outside with Greg and showed him the plastic piece that was broken which did not even have any dirt. Greg said he would take money off from the bill. I asked how much it was and he said he didn't know and they could even get a used one from a scrap yard. As I was waiting to pay, I asked Greg if he would speak with the individual who attempted to cover up his mistake and his response was "it was probably broken already and he just finished it off". What does that mean? I have 9 years experience in crash investigation because I'm a police officer and having dealt with multiple crashes, I think I can tell when damage is old or new. I'm very disappointed that Greg couldn't take accountability for his or his employees mistake and turned off from the fact that he still tried to blame it on me. I have ignored other bad reviews from this place because John (manager) has helped me numerous times before but now will never give them my business. Ok so listen, I understand a business needs to make money and will upsell its services, I don't have a problem with that. Similarly, I don't always need a deal; auto work is a pain in the ass, your prices are your prices. But I look for a mechanic to be honest and have your interests at heart, and if you do too, avoid this place. A few weeks ago I had the oil changed here on my Mazda 6, which I had purchased from a dealer used a few months previously, along with a tire rotation. I got a call from the shop telling me my front brake pads were worn "almost down to the metal" and that my rear pads weren't far behind, and quoted me to replace the brakes and resurface the rotors. Since I'm comfortable doing my own brakes I thanked them and declined. This morning I got around to putting on the new pads I bought at an auto parts store for 1/10 the price they quoted me... And found that the brake pads already in place were almost BRAND NEW. Less than 2mm of wear vs. the OEM pads in the box. Seriously: don't lie to your customers, some of us will find out. read more

Mr. Tire in Somerville, NJ is by far the most customer-focused service center I have found. I have many examples of this claim but my most recent has to do with a dashboard sensor tire pressure light that came on one afternoon. This was a busy Sunday and I thought perhaps it came on in error (which has happened to me before). I called Mr. Tire and spoke with manager Craig who said to "come on in". I did and when my tire pressure was checked by Julio he found that the rear left tire was indeed low AND had a nail imbedded in it. Even though the store was very busy Craig and Julio fit me in and fixed my tire in about 15 minutes. They said "they didn't want to send me home with a tire in that condition." I am so grateful to Craig and Julio for considering my safety above their busy schedules. Thank you Mr. Tire! read more

He was very polite and helpful when it came to what tires would be best for me. Didn't try to sell me most expensive like some most car services places I've been to. They left a tool on my brothers engine and had my moms car towed in twice for the same issue after 1000s of dollars of repairs still stalling out but they say it's fine and needs to get worst before it gets better go elsewhere read more

I'm disappointed that Mr. Tire tried to take me for a fool. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation, which I've done with them several times now--that service is fine. However, last time around, when my father took it in for me, they said my air filters needed changing, so he approved the services. However, this time around they claim that they're dirty and they hadn't been changed before. Furthermore, they said that my rear suspension was leaking oil and it would cost $300+ to fix the problem. They had known I was going on a long car ride later that day, so I'm sure they were preying on me as a young woman. I refused the service because I wanted a second opinion, and sure enough, a more trusted mechanic said nothing was wrong at all! read more

Long time customer of 10 years. Went for a basic service of tire balancing and alignment. Got a call saying they broke a stud and lug nut, and it was not there fault being they weren't the last to work on the car. If you like being talk to in a rude manner deal with mike vitro he's and A+ in my book. I guess professionalism isn't either, told him I won't be returning and he told me that's fine, I guess being a loyal customer doesn't pay with this place or with mikes attitude. Not saying customer is always right but could of worked with me on the price but I guess choosing to lose customers is more important to them. They couldn't even install the correct tires on a basic f150 gotta tell you something. Mr. Tire retrain your staff to better deal with customers. read more

WARNING! Brought my vehicle here to replace wiper motor. Prior to repair, mechanic noted a small ding on windshield, passenger side. Repair was completed the next day and the service mgr noted MAJOR CRACK in driver side of windshield above the wipe motor. He and the store manager John told me it was already there when I dropped off the vehicle! Seriously? Do you think I would not have seen that in my line of sight while driving? A heated discussion followed & John basically called me a liar. I contacted Mr Tire corporate & complained. The following day Mr Tire notified me that the windshield would be replaced by Safelight at no charge. Ive been a loyal customer of Vespias for 20+ years. I will NO longer use or recommend Mr Tire/Vespias after being called a liar about something that their mechanic CLEARLY was responsible for breaking! Shop elsewhere! read more

This place has changed since it switched from STS to Mavis. I had some suspension work done and my lug nuts were loose on both rims on the left side after it was done.Therefore it destroyed the front rim and I'm lucky my tire didn't fall off while I was driving. I also got a new while it was there and they charged 3 times what the rim is actually worth, they stated, "it was a rare rim". Right, for an F150... unfortunately sometimes you learn the hard way. Took my car here to get new set of rear tires. The actual tires are fine. But they scratched my rims. I checked my rims at the parking lot before the new tires were put on. My rims were brand spanking new! And these idiots made a bunch of scratches on it! After telling them about it they claim their machine could not have done that. Liars! First time being here was fine...they called me and told me I needed ALL this work done (after just getting an oil change and new battery) but knew that was just to make money so I passed on everything. Now I'm here for a second time getting my oil changed...I made an appointment for 10AM and dropped my car off at 7:30AM. Came back at 3:45 to pick it up and they hadn't changed my oil and made me wait an extra 20 minutes. Won't be back. read more

Highly recommend this place, you don't find a lot of honest merchants these days, my daughter had an issue with her car they very easily could have fixed it and charged her for this. I would never go here again. When they did my tires, they damaged my rim, so now I have a continual leak, and all four of my hubcaps so now they've all fallen off. When I had my oil changed, they told me I needed a new battery. (and coincidentally they were having a sale on batteries) I refused. The battery was fine and lasted three years after that. The last straw was when I got my oil changed and they told me that I needed new rear brakes. I decided to do it myself, bought the brakes, and brought my car to my brother to help me change them. My brother told me, first, my rear breaks are fine, they still had 3/4 of their thickness left. By the way, the oil filter they installed is dripping oil. They are both incompetent and dishonest. Just so you know, I was so upset that I signed up for yelp just to leave this review. Enjoy my first post, I hope they read it. I was dealing with a character named John (or Peter I cant remember exactly), a managerial looking individual for a damaged run flat on my bmw on behalf of my father. I get there at my appointment at 10:30 am and he calls me up about 10 mins after to get my information. I tell him that it was the rear passenger tire instead of the tire that I told him over the phone. I then got him to speak with my father on the phone to get additional information. He was very rude to my father and cut him off while still talking to him and handed the phone to me. I then told him that the BMW dealership does not repair damaged tires, they replace them entirely. He replied that he doesnt believe that, and there is more to the story than my father is telling. He explains that by diagnosing the tire could make the tire absolutely unusable and that the car may not be drivable based on the location of the damage. He then tells me that its a pain having to extract information from us, and it is wasting his time and ours. Really? Having me come on time and wait to be talked to is me wasting HIS time? Calling my father a liar, dissing me and my father in front of other customers is just a taste of what you can expect at this joke of an establishment. Someone tell John that if he hates dealing with customers so bad, he should find another line of work. Ive issued a complaint at corporate for him to call my father and apologize. Worst service in my life by far. I went to STS tire and auto and they had my car in and out with the repaired tire in about 45 mins with a smile. read more

Were in the area visiting family from out of town over MLK Jr. Day weekend, and the check-engine light started flashing and the car started shaking. Brought it in at 1pm on a Saturday, had the car back less than 24 hrs later, with the cost ending up below market rate. Jeremy was incredibly helpful, explained things before doing them, and went out of his way to make sure we knew what was going on. Would go back if we were in the area. read more

Nice place Made an appointment to an oil change and tire rotation. The wait while the service was being performed was a little to long but, everything was done and the car came back without those stupid paper floormats mechanics never remove. The price wasn't too bad $49.00 with a coupon. I will return when I need tires or if the weather is bad and I can not do the service myself. read more
