Fantastic service and professional operation. There are plenty of tire shops around the area and I've been to a few over the years. They all do a decent enough job but most look like a tornado tore up a junkyard with a sign standing at the door. I made an appointment for a Rim/Tire & TPMS sensor replacement after my daughter hit a huge pot hole and damaged it. I got a 7:30am, first appointment available and when I came in, Jose the operations manager couldn't have been more courteous, professional, honest and very cheerful even for that time of the morning. The office has a small lounge, with TV, WIFI and coffee while you wait. The work was done quickly, new RIM and sensor + tire installed, balanced and looking good as new, all for under $40. On top of that, they ASKED FIRST if I wanted a complementary Laser Alignment verification to see if an alignment was required and provided a digital inspection, printout copy for me to review and decide. NO PRESSURE was great. I didn't do it then on account of time and it didn't seem bad or in immediate need, so I'll hold off. But I've got a new, favorite local tire & service shop, all on account of how nicely I was treated (and others who came in as well I must say). The shop name is a bit misleading in that they do other car repair services above and beyond tires and wheels only, but if you're looking for a good shop, I'd definitely recommend Mr. Tire. **** I have ZERO affiliation with anyone at this shop but am happy to spread the word when a company, individual or servicer does a great job with a smile and a great price. I came last week and Manny the technician/Owner/Manager was rude and unprofessional, loud and obnoxious.. He said I didn't have an appointment and the wait time was 5hours. So I asked him to schedule me with his earliest appointment. He gave me June 9th at 10AM. So when I arrived this morning, he said that Mazda forbids them to add anything but high grade oil. I told him, to use the oil on the Groupon and he would not. Bait and switch! He raised his voice to me and refused to add the oil On the Groupon. I eventually called the police. I would never go here again for any reason and all the one star reviews here are accurate. I bought the Groupon for an oil change, made an appointment, and showed up on time. After waiting 20 minutes, they told me that they wouldn't even get to my car for another 50 minutes because they were very backed up and that I should reschedule for another day. Super annoying, but okay whatever. I reschedule for the next day and have to wait 20 minutes again to talk to anyone. This time I dropped the car off, only to get a call several hours later that they didn't want to do my oil change because the oil cap was stripped. They didn't really have any suggestions about next steps, just said it can't be done and I needed to come get the car. I don't know much about cars so I believed them and assumed I would need an expensive oil pan replacement. I took it to another mechanic who did the oil change without mentioning any issues with stripping. Saving a few bucks is NOT worth it, don't come here. read more

I don't typically call out businesses publicly, but I believe this one is actively deceiving customers, and I feel obligated to share my experience. I brought my car in for 4 tires and an alignment. I was quoted $109 for the alignment. When the service was complete, my bill was significantly higher than expected. The alignment alone was charged at $134.99. The technician acknowledged the error and said he would correct it -- but when I reviewed the bill afterward, he had only reduced it by $14.99, bringing it to $120, not the $109 I was quoted. That's when I also noticed a $40.98 charge for a TPMS Stem Kit -- a service that was never mentioned, discussed, or authorized. I only discovered it after I had already paid and left. To make matters worse, I found a noticeable ding on my driver's side rear quarter panel that wasn't there before. I went back to address all of this directly. Having worked in tire shops myself, I told the technician plainly that we both know they did not service the O-rings on the TPMS sensors. He didn't deny it. I was overcharged on the alignment and billed $40.98 for a service that was never performed and never disclosed. That's not a billing mistake -- that's deceptive business practice. I would stay far away from this Mr Tire in Union on Morris Ave. Mr Tire should read this review and find someone that can tend the counter most of the day and have some customer relation skills. I walk in ans waited at the counter for 20 minutes before the guy came out to speak to me about my seevice, he booked me in and I waited for 2.5 hours for my car to go in, which it very did. This place is a bait and switch shop. I bought a Groupon made an appointment when I walked in the guy behind the counter who was very rude. Automatically said it was a four hour wait because I had a Groupon once I told him I said I can't wait. I'll pay you cash. He said OK I'll move you up. Give me an hour. When we try to use the Groupon and another day, same exact attitude and gave you a hard time. I don't know why they offer it if they don't want to use it. On top of that when he finally did do the oil change, they left the old gasket from the oil filter still on. That's the reason why I came out here to give them a review. I don't care about the attitude, but very bad service. Solid tire shop. I placed an order online with a different tire company that is affiliated to Mr. Tire and automatically scheduled my installation. These guys were honest and knowledgeable. Informed me of some good tips and recommendations. The installation wasn't long, but it's highly recommended to have an appointment as they are quite busy. Being busy is a good thing, it shows how solid they are here. As for pricing, they are on the lower end. I was quoted almost double at another tire shop by me, so needless to say I drove a little bit out and was worth the ride. read more

Horrible Experience - Avoid Mr. Tire in Union, NJ I purchased a Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation at Mr. Tire in Union for $39.99. I made an appointment for 5:00 PM on a Wednesday and arrived on time. Upon checking in, the employee at the front desk told me there were six cars ahead of me and it would be about a two-hour wait. I asked if I could just reschedule for a less busy time and he said no problem -- come back the next day at 3:30 PM. I explained that I'm a teacher and don't get out of work until 3:10, and asked if it was okay to be a little late. He said that would be fine, and they would be pretty free around that time. The next day, I called to let them know I would be running 15 minutes late and arriving closer to 3:45. Again, he said no problem, we'll see you when you get here. I showed up at 3:50 -- just five minutes later than I said -- and suddenly I was told it would now be another two-hour wait because "the mechanic that was going to work on your car is now working on other cars." Apparently, those extra five minutes were a dealbreaker? Instead of waiting around, I had my mom pick me up so I could wait at home. I waited over two hours and still hadn't heard anything. Knowing they closed at 7 PM, I called at 6:30 and was told they were just starting to bring my car in. I arrived at 7 PM -- still no update or communication from the staff. They finally finished my car around 7:30 PM -- that's 3.5 hours for a simple oil change! To top it off, I was charged an extra $45 on top of the Groupon because they claimed the Groupon oil wasn't the correct type for my car. When I asked the employee if they had even done the tire rotation, he had no idea. At the end, I was also advised to "get to know my car better" and "call and ask for help next time." I let them know I will never be calling or coming back again. The staff was rude, disorganized, and completely lacking in basic customer service. Save your time and money. Read the reviews. I am so disappointed with Mr. Tire I have been coming here for years and now will be looking for a new place, came in last night 2/27 after work in which I made an appointment at 8 something in the morning arrived at 530 appointment was for 6pm to be told they are backed up. I said but I have an appointment, we are backed up. No accommodations nothing, you can come back Friday or Saturday. Mind you I'm still riding around with a nail in my tire and they could careless. Why have an online system to make appointments when they don't follow them. A corporate letter will be next, front desk person he acts like I'm a bother. I scheduled an appointment for 8am to have tires installed, which I purchased through TIRE AGENTS. I arrive at 8am for the assistance manger to tell me the installer would not be in until 10am. I asked why did anyone not call me to let me know. He responded. I just found out , what do u want me to do FIRE them for not coming on time !!! I was flabbergasted that the installers are allowed to show up when they want to work. I came back at 9:30am and waited. Around 10:15 am the manger approached me again to let me know the installer was not coming at all. I collected my paid tires and was out $60 installation fee. I brought my car in last week for an oil change. I bought a groupon, and went on their website and made an appointment as to avoid having to wait too long if I were to walk in. I arrived 15 minutes early, and was told it would only be an hour. Turns out I waited for 2.5 hours. Not only is my car now leaking oil, but included in the service I purchased, I was supposed to get a tire rotation, as well as a "confidrive performance review" to check my fluids, battery, brakes, steering and suspension tire tread pressure etc. Also was supposed to get a brake assessment. I received none of that. My tires were not rotated. I know this, as each tire has certain markings, and the one front driver side needs to be replaced and every morning is flat. Sure enough, my suspicions were right because the next morning, same exact tire, same exact place, flat. I received no read out of any assessments that may have been done, only my paper receipt, because I also had to pay the tax on the service I purchased. I am incredibly frustrated that I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time, when I made an appointment for that reason, and then I wasn't even given the services that I PAID for. Not sure how to render this situation correct, even if they were to offer some sort of compensation or offered to complete what should have been done I wouldn't trust it. They simply did an oil change and my car is leaking oil. Incredibly unhappy with the service. I work hard for my money and my time is valuable and I feel as though both were wasted. If I could rate this place a 0 I would. I came in for a tire change (1/28/24) and left with my check engine light on. At that point , I had waited 3 hrs for my car and had a pounding headache, I didn't want to argue. I went to AutoZone the next day to have my car scanned to see what was done. The results came back as my spark plugs. Went to an automatic (1/30/24) come to find out the employees at Mr. Tire had replaced 2 of my spark plugs. Now , the guy clearly knew it was on because he had to move my car outside the shop and did not say a word to me about my check engine light being on. He did mention something that has to do with my tire but nothing about the engine. I had to put down about $500 due to the damage they caused. I do NOT recommend to come here. I brought my car in for an oil change, new tires, new brake pads and rotors. I was told to come at 6 (which is the time they close) and ended up leaving at 7:20. They were understaffed and i understood this so I didn't make a big deal out of it, but this isn't why i'm leaving this review. When I got home and looked over the bill, i noticed they added a road hazard coverage plan, which i was not told about, nor did i ask for, which came out to about an extra $130. They also decided to sign me up for their premium tire installation, which again, i did not ask for, nor told about. Check your itemized bill if you do decide to go here. They did not offer me an itemized bill until after i paid in full. Now they're telling me I have to call corporate for a refund. Road hazard plans at costco for a full set of tires is about $40, $90 cheaper than Mr. Tire. Even if they offered a better price, why would I take my car someplace that signs you up for services you did not even ask for. Stay away from this place. UPDATE: After looking at my bill further, they also charged me for 3 brake fluid flushes.... An additional $269.98. Unbelievable... The corporate office was quick to acknowledge the extra charges and are refunding me over $450. read more

So I've been coming here for 2 years and never had a problem. I've noticed this past year that they are some shady people. I brought tires from here and all of a sudden I had a tire in it. I called them to check out the tire and this is where things get fishy. So I bring it to get it checked the guy says oh you don't need a new tire it will last through the summer time. 3 weeks later I get a flat tire I kid you now when I brought it back there the dumbass tells me it says on our end that you didn't want to get a new tire. Now riddle me this I went there because of the damn tire to begin with why would I tell you to not fix the tire. Long story short I ended up paying almost 400 dollars to get a new tire and I mysteriously needed a wheel alignment. I'm never going back to this rip off place. I had an appointment that I made online with Amazon and selected this location for installation. I also called and spoke with the stores manager 3 days in advance to confirm. The appointment was set for 7:30am. I arrived 5 mins early and was taken in at 7:30am. I checked in and then another customer came in and was checked in right away without an appointment right after me. (I heard the conversation) The other customers vehicle was pulled in the shop before mine. I found that strange but didn't say anything. I waited 50 mins. My car still not touched. During that 50 mins I decided to google the tire shop's reviews. I was shocked what I saw and totally agree with all the negative reviews. When I questioned the store manager he rudely said hold on and was texting someone on his personal cell phone during work hours. Then he walked away to hide in the back shop. When the tech finally came over to get into my car I stopped him to ask if there equipment was capable to install my larger then normal tires. He said he wasn't sure and would try. I stopped him right away and went to the manager and asked him to cancel the work order and give me the tires I paid for. I didn't want them to damage my new expensive wheels. He rudely said great idea. He opened the shops door and threw them out of the shop into the parking lot. You are in the customer service business and act like the world is against you. This was my first and last time ever going to Mr Tire in Union. Corporate should really look into this because they are loosing a lot of business and having a manager act like this is dragging the Mr Tire name down. Great local service center, right here in town (Union). I requested an online appointment after the shop was closed, for the next morning. When I arrived, it was obvious Mr Tire was busy. Jose the Mgr. Greeted me, and did an excellent job explaining issues with the website booking but said he could accommodate me (flat tire fix), if I could leave my car. Jose was attentive to a call, explaining their next available appointment was Monday afternoon (a day and a half away), boy did I luck out! We were in from out of town and discovered a nail in a tire which required the tire be replaced. They didn't have tires we needed and was Memorial Day. Jose' called around to see if a competitor had them in stock so we could get back on the road! Unfortunately no one had them, so he ordered tires, installed next day and we were on road the following day. About 4 hours into trip the tire light came on. We called Jose' and he recommended we recheck tire pressure, as tires had probably expanded driving long distance. They also wanted us to keep them informed throughout our trip. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Terrible experience for what I would think should be a simple, routine oil change. After I took the car home, a few days later I noticed a slow drip. Made an appointment for them to look into the leak. After they tightened the bolt and gave the car back, upon bringing the car back home the leak was 10x worse, literally a puddle of oil in 15 minutes. Immediately took the car back to the shop and I was told "TOO BAD" and that I needed a new oil pan. For a car that never had an issue, now it is undriveable and need to buy a new oil pan. If I was given coupons for free oil changes, wouldn't even think of going back here. Take my advice and go to the Valvoline/Jiffy Lubes for quick oil changes, trying to save a couple dollars clearly did not work out in my favor. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I came here to get my brakes checked a few weeks ago, and they told me nothing was wrong and the brakes were fine. When I drove off, i started hearing something rubbing (like maybe something wasn't put on correctly or tightly around the tire area) I figured the noise would go away. Drove for a week then I let my car sit for 3 weeks while I was on vacation. I return, and pull out my driveway, the whole car sounds and feels like it's about to fall apart when I brake. The following morning, I came back to Mr. Tire who are NOW they're telling me I need all new ROTORS but the pads are still okay... and it's $1000 charge. HOWWWWWW wasn't this seen a few weeks ago when I came here to get my brakes checked?? Worker says "oh maybe they ONLY checked the pads"..... Thats a lie. I went to this tire shop because I need two new tires. I contacted over five shops before finding this one and they had the best deal on tires. I went to the shop after speaking with a representative and once my car was examined it was announced that I also needed a wheel alignment. The representative worked with me and gave me a deal that took off almost $100 (which is great). The service wasn't too long. About an hour. I would say it's best to make an appointment so you wouldn't have to wait. The staff are respectable and the location is convent. The waiting room could be updated but you get free WiFi. read more

I came in several months ago, expecting to drop the car off and have them call me so that I can pick up again in a couple of hours. I dropped off the keys, forgot to mention something to them and came back to ask when the car would be done (this was all in less than 5 minutes). Jose said that he might be able to get it done right then and there. In less than 15 minutes it was done! Pierre was the one who did the oil change. I cannot tell you how great this place is. I have been going for years and Jose is so incredibly professional and courteous, so accommodating. Pierre always does a great job. Car always run smoothly! The biggest thing that I can say is that I never feel as though I am being hosed by anyone. You know how you go into some of these places and you are always being told "yeah, your flabbergaster is going to come off any second and your car will burst into flames if you don't get this fixed right now and yeah it'll cost you $300". He explained the road hazard coverage which I told him I would consider. The tires were not in stock, but ordered and arrived the next day.
