Visited Valvoline on a Saturday afternoon, very last minute decision. All other oil change spots in the area didn't have any available appointments so I decided on checking out Valvoline since you can arrive for a 15-20 minute oil change with no appointment needed. There were two lanes; the lane I was in had about 4-5 cars ahead of me and it took around 1 hour and a half. There's a Dunkin in the same parking lot if you're looking to grab something quick while waiting. Once it's your turn, they will tell you to pull in and leave the car on while they check the mileage, tires, etc. The oil change literally took 20 minutes tops! FYI - This is a "stay in your car" type of oil change. You sit in your car with it turned off while they check certain things such as your air filter, tires, etc. Since it was my first time, the employee explained everything to me. I have a Honda HRV Sport and receives full synthetic oil, it was priced at $99. There was a $10 coupon online (always check for coupons) which brought my total down to $89. They also changed my air filter which in total, came out to $125. Once the oil change was complete, I was good to go. Would definitely visit again during an off day! Odeen was my mechanic for my first ever visit and his professionalism and the whole team made this an unforgettable first ever visit to a valvoline oil change store. You sit in your car as the tech pours over your vehicle with maintenance and safety check of your vehicles systems: lights, wipers, signals, air filters, tire pressure, belts, hoses and more I probably didnt notice. Came here for an oil change today because my father suggested that it was the easiest , quickest route . It only took about 5 minutes to be serviced . Once the man came up to my window , I put my mask on , out of respect for the mans health , he saw that and said "Don't worry, it's okay, I won't kill you." Uhmm ????? I let it go. When he had to scan the inside on my door he told me he was about to do so and then says "don't worry, I won't bite you , unless you want me to." ???!!??!! My car was serviced a few times at the 12 North 2nd Street, Stroudsburg PA for an oil change. The under cover of my car has to be removed for maintenance. However, the undercover must be replaced and the knobs as well. If they are not replaced to hold up the undercover it will come down while you're driving. I had two awful experiences . I was driving long distances when the undercover came detached from my vehicle. I had to pull over on the busy highway to get out of my car on my knees to get the undercover from dragging on the road. This incident occurred twice with valvoline oil change. My husband was extremely upset that this happened twice and told me not to use their service because, they don't value the safety of their customers. Safety is important when driving and Valvoline put my safety at risk. I will no longer use their service!!! read more

I was doing my sister a favor and took her car for an oil change here. While she normally goes here for an oil change, I usually go to the dealer. Right away, I was pleased at how nice and efficient they were. They told me right away what her car needed to get done since the last time she got it serviced. They told me what she needed to do at the mechanic's. I like how they didn't come across as condescending for not knowing much about cars. I think after this experience I would get my oil changed here for now on! Great first experience. read more

The mechanics here were very courteous and professional. They get an A+. However what you will notice is that the shop does not post or display their oil change prices anywhere. This is deceptive and unfair. Where else do you go to buy a service and not know or be able to see what it is going to cost? And the reason that they do not publish their prices is because Valvoline Instant Oil Change prices are very high. They nickel and dime you for add on's when you present a discount coupon which leaves you paying what a walk-in customer with no coupon pays. In my 15 years of getting oil changes, the one I got today at Valvoline has got to be the best yet. I pulled up into their garage and to my surprise, didn't have to drag myself, dog and sleeping baby out to wait and pay. I love the fact that they did a basic check up on my car: fluids, wipers, tire pressure, filters... etc. A few months ago my air conditioning was acting weird and today during their diagnostic tests, their computer found that my ac needed some servicing. Glad to have gotten that fixed without going to the auto shop. They suggest certain services to be done and notate them on your receipt just in case you want to hold off on them and look further into the details. Not once did I feel like they were trying to scam me into purchasing extra services. Stacey, the manager, was super nice and informative and the other workers worked together harmoniously. They got the job done fast and efficiently. To top things off, I got a $10 discount using a coupon I got in the mail. This will be my go to oil change from now on. The guys at Valvoline were great. I'd had a not-so-good experience earlier that morning and was pressed for time. I went over to Jiffy Lube which was my usual and their price has gone up significantly. Not to mention the 'manager' came out to talk to me immediately quoted a $45 price and must have been having a bad day - once I said "wow" he said that's been the price always (not true) and basically waved me off. So yea... not ever going back there. I needed an oil change badly so did a quick search on my cell and came across Valvoline on Route 22 West. The guy who answered the phone was great! He took the time to talk to me and when I asked if they had time for me to come then, he was honest and told me he had a few cars they were working on but that I should come in and suggested I look online for discounts. My oil change was quick. He applied the coupon I found on their website and talked me through the whole time. He found some other issues which I was not aware of and even offered ballpark pricing for them. The crew here are very polite, helpful and most importantly FAST. I got what I needed done and made my appointment well before I was scheduled to be there. They are for sure in my top 3 - I highly recommend. read more

I have never had the nerve to go to a place like this for an oil change but I was in desperate need of one and I was like ok lets try it out. Boy am I glad that I did, I had the best experience ever. Although there were 3 cars ahead of me I was still out in about 30min including the oil change. The employees were so polite and friendly and asked me about everything before they did any work on the car. They checked my lights, filters and windshield wiper fluid (which they filled up for me at no charge). I didn't have to get out of the car and wait in a dirty waiting area. I was able to stay in my own car and it was so comfortable and quick. I have never been to a place like this but I will never go anywhere else but Valvoline for an oil change ever again. They had online coupons if you weren't able to print it out and again everyone was just so nice. Took my wifes car in today for an oil change - wont be going back. here is why: - they over inflated all 4 tires by at least 4 pounds. not the first time. anyone ever teach them the correct psi is posted on the inside of the door frame? hears others complaining of this as well. simple stuff so makes me worry about more critical things they are performing on the car - had a coupon for conventional oil change as we go in every 3k anyway. was told the coupon was no good as it needed their maxlife oil. really? that is a high mileage oil recommended for vehicles with 75k and over. our car has 34k. was told i could not switch to a regular oil after using max life - thats a falsehood. you can switch anytime from a synthetic to regular and back again. someone there originally misled my wife to start using the more expensive maxlife for no good reason. it is not even a full synthetic. to boot, it is good for at least 5k before a change is needed, not 3k - sales rep could not explain why they tag your window for 3k. $$$ - the price was 79.95. my infiniti goes to the dealer and costs 59.95 for full synthetic with a more realistic manufactures 5k life. (and a tire rotation included if I want) oil companies, like valvoline itself, say 7500 for synthetic and maybe up to 15000. why cant their oil change garages be as upfront with the correct info? - lastly, there was a coupon for the same 10 bucks off a synthetic change. would have gone a long way if I had been told or offered that. read more

GREAT EXPERIENCE! No crowded waiting room to sit in to run the risk of getting COVID. I was able to sit in the car while they did the oil change. There was 6 cars waiting to be serviced. Alvin, came out In the rain, to introduce himself and performed everyone's safety check. I've brought 3 different cars I've owned to this Valvoline location over the past 10+ years for many oil changes, never had a negative experience. The employees have always been courteous and professional, even though I've seen quite a few come and go. If something needs my attention (they are always very thorough) they inform me and will offer their services but are never pushy. I have waited as long as 30 minutes for my car to be serviced and as little as 5, but that all depends when you go. Once you're in, a simple oil change takes about 10-15 minutes. They top off all your other fluids if you so wish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and have recommended this location to friends and family members. He then walked away and didn't offer to guide me out of the lot I couldn't see the curb block and wound up hitting it twice. If there is tire damage I will be coming back for reimbursement. I sat in my car to wait for an oil change for over an hour. I was in the lane where there wasn't an "escape" lane to get out of line and go somewhere else. So I was basically stuck for OVER an HOUR! While one attendant took cars for servicing, one attendant changed oil and the other attendant unpacked STOCK! Like he literally was breaking down boxes and hanging up wiper blades instead of helping to shorten the line and time of those waiting (in the heat while burning our gas) to be serviced. After 75 minutes he finally was finished unloading stock and opened up both bays to help the other attendant service more cars waiting in the line. Ridiculously unprofessional!!! read more

I used to take my car here for every oil change. I purchased a new car about 9 months ago and took it for the first oil change to this Valvoline. The service reps told me that they couldn't take the drain plug out because it had been screwed on so tightly but managed to do the oil change some other way and they recommended that I take it to a Subaru service location next time. I'm now at a Subaru service center and they showed me my car's "oil pan" and drain plug which is completely dented. It seems like the techs who worked on my initial oil change at Valvoline did this -___- I hardly ever write negative reviews, but felt that I needed to share my experience. They were careless and thoughtless and I'll have to pay for the repairs. :/ giving them two stars instead of one because my previous experiences were fine. read more

This place is as shady as they come. Wife took car in for oil change and tech (who was later fired for improper behavior) tried to talk her into having her A\C serviced, she said no thank you and several weeks later began to notice mold and moisture in her car. After taking it to dealer they found a lug nut in her A\C evap line which the dealer said only could have gotten there if it was placed there by someone. We then contacted Valvoline and spoke to manager (John) who tried denying the could have had anything to do with it even though he admitted the tech who worked on the car was fired. Do yourselves a favor and spend a little extra to take your vehicle to a reputable service place. I would give negative stars if I could. Also looking into possible legal action now since I now have mold in a vehicle due to clearly negligent action on Valvolines part. read more

I hate that I've had to review so many oil change places on Yelp. It's not an exciting category to write a review for, but so many of them are just so bad. These guys, on the other hand, are the real deal. You pull up into the garage and just stay in your car while they change your oil and check out other stuff. It takes about ten minutes, which is exactly how long an oil change should take. They'll tell you about things that need updating, but they're not pushy about it and don't try to convince you that your engine will fall out of your car if you opt not to take one of their suggestions. I frequent this location to get my oil change everytime. The staff is cool and easy to talk too. Service is done while sitting in your car. There are some services were you might have to sit out your car but it should not take long as if you were going to a dealer or other auto repair shop. Lines can get long when there is a wait because there are only two service bays. Prices are reasonable and you can always download a coupon off of the website. read more

I hate this place. I have gone here many times. Yes, they are fast if no one else is ahead if you. I have tolerated their sales pitches to change stuff I didn't know you change. I just politely say no thank you. However the last time, they changed the washer in the oil pan nut without asking me. It just appeared on my bill. My car is three years old. I have had several cars for twelve years and never had this washer wear out. I asked to see the washer and sure enough there was nothing wrong with it. They did offer to go switch it back. At that point, I was tired of waiting and wanted to just go home. They did not offer to just not charge me for it. I would prefer going to the dealer and paying $10 more than deal with dishonest people. That's what I will do. So, in short, I think they are thieves. Beware. read more

I was here on 8/28/18 for my oil change. I know from being at the location in Edison what I am supposed to receive. I don't feel they did nearly as good as a job as the other location and that is with the asst manager being the one to work on my car. I was out of there in 7 minutes. Other than my oil change nothing else seemed to be checked. When I asked about my tire pressure being checked I was told they didn't need to check it unless it's showing on my dashboard. I am extremely disappointed especially for that of an asst manager to have told me that. I don't think he would have told me that if I was a male. read more
