I had already purchased the parts from a distributor, after identifying the correct ones by calling the factory. But the manufacturer ships "universal" replacement kits, with extra parts because the kit has to fit any of several models. The plumber knew just what was needed, and what wasn't. Both toilets now work perfectly, and no longer leak. The extra parts would have driven me crazy if I had attempted a DIY repair. For me, hiring an expert was money *very* well spent.
