Not…read moreonly am I frequently too exhausted/busy to cook, the idea of even leaving my house to go to Dorothy Lane to pick up healthy pre-prepared food is often overwhelming to me. In comes Kate. Her food is fresh, flavorful, healthy, interesting, seasonal, and beautifully presented. It requires a minimal amount of prep beyond heating, a few veggie and/or herb chops, and voila! The portions are surprisingly hearty, and I always have leftovers, whether I am ordering for 1 or 2. Customer service is always on point, responsive, professional. I'm so grateful we have a local answer to some of the bigger box meal delivery services. While I enjoyed those in the past, I feel better knowing my food is coming from the local community, instead of mass shipped across the US. Very grateful for Kate's Plate every Monday when the food is delivered to my front door. I can't say enough great things, other than thank you!

My average meal is about $5.24 and everything is ready for you to have ready in 20-30 min. No cutting up produce and such. Here is how it works, you order your meals online. You select a date to have your prepping session. On the day of pickup you go into the store and find your name...in the little drawer is an apron for yourself as well as your selections you made online. You then put your belongings into said drawer including your phone!! Yes it's possible to live without your phone! Here is where the fun starts!! Wash your hands and grab your ziploc bags! Head to your first station to prep your first meal. I did the introductory 18 meals for $85. I did the three servings so I made six meals In total. It was so much fun! You read the recipe and put each item into its own ziploc home from spices, purées, liquids and the core meat into a bigger ziploc then add in the instructions for cooking. There are even additional sides and sweets for inspiration that you can select out of another freezer. Once finished with each meal you put it in the freezer section with your name on it! My session had a taste of one of next months meals so I sat down and enjoyed what is to come! You then select your next session and meals with a perk and double rewards points. They package everything up for you, you pay for any additional items you selected, pull your car up and they load it for you! All I can say is I'm going back tomorrow, I've already made 4/6 meals in the last 3 days and I cannot wait to try more! I'm even signed up for a kids session where your kids 10 and older can help you prep all the food. Try it out you might just it! If your into meal delivery services of course!

However, I looked back at the counter and realized there were several shaker bottles of different seasoning salt blends so that you could season your food to your liking. That changed the game. After a sprinkle of the seafood blend, the potatoes were delicious! They had both spicy and regular dill sauce. I got both-- both were great, but I preferred the spicy. You go online and choose what bin size you want for your family, and how often you want it. For my family we get the small produce bin every other week and it is more than enough food. The absolute BEST part is you are allowed to customize what comes in your bin. You bin comes with whatever is in season, but let's say you're not a huge fan of broccoli. You can switch out the broccoli for any other item in the drop down produce menu. At the store I go for one thing, and end up spending so much more than I wanted. This way it saves me time and money. Also I feel more in control and aware of what I'm eating. Since I personally order 2 or 3 oranges I can control how many I want (unlike the grocery store) so the rest of the bag won't go bad. We started a few months ago and now we have it down to a science. We are eating healthier, and my stress levels have gone WAY downhill. We take a trip to Findlay for some meat, and the rest of the week we get creative and try to use the seasonal ingredients in a fun and new way together. I plan on having Green BEAN for as long as they will keep delivering to me! Oh, and it's only $35 for the small bin + Free delivery! I've been using their services for about 2 months now, and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon. You can choose how often your delivery comes, so I receive mine every 2 weeks. Each time you are due for a new bin you get to go in and customize what you receive. On top of all the wonderful, fresh, organic produce, I've also been getting meats (free-range, grass-fed, etc.), fresh eggs, organic milk, and some great bread! It's amazing to me how affordable everything is, and delivery is even free! They automatically put things in your bin, but you are welcome to add/remove when you customize - the fun part for me is getting things I've never made before and experimenting with new recipes. I made acorn squash for the first time the other day and it was delish! You will not be disappointed if you check them out!
