Italian sub and Ruffle's Cheddar and Sour Cream Chips (plated)
    Colin T.

I've been to this Firehouse Subs restaurant a few times. Like most Firehouse Subs, the restaurant is adorned with various fire fighter gear. It has a neat atmosphere. Firehouse Subs had a two for $16 special going in the day I went. For $16 you could get two medium subs, two chips, and two fountain drinks. I got an Italian sub, a meatball sub, Lay's Regular Oven Baked potato chips, Ruffle's Oven Baked Cheddar and Sour Cream potato chips, and two drinks. I ordered via their website so my order was almost ready when I arrived. I also ordered a side cup of chili with onions and cheddar cheese. Everything was packed carefully in a big paper bag. I poured my own fountain drinks. Firehouse subs had Coca-Cola's Freestyle fountain drink dispenser which has a variety of drink customization options. The Italian sandwich was good and flavorful. Meats seemed fresh and bread was tasty. I ate the Meatball sub the next day and it was equally good. The cup of chili came with oyster crackers and the added cheddar cheese and onions came in a separate container. Also included was a spoon. I like this particular Firehouse Subs because they usually get your order right. I've been to a closer Firehouse Subs and they usually forget something. Firehouse subs also gives you a pickle wedge with your sandwich and they got that right as well. Overall, this Firehouse Subs is a great experience. Orders are prepared accurately and quickly and they seem to pride themselves. I would recommend and would go again. Also, Firehouse Subs has a very good rewards program so I would sign up for that if you haven't already. You get alerted of new deals and even new sandwiches, some which are only there for a short time. I highly recommend.

Try the new fries and use the coupons on the AP!

They are seriously the best at this store - they are friendly and put up with my crazy order - great subs and super friendly team who works fast! ;)

One of the best sub places around. Quality ingredients and great menu options. Sign up for their rewards program to earn free food and to get a free sub on your birthday!

Yay checked in with yelp and got free dessert (brownie) ... fan of their sandwiches but tried the potato soup. Yummy. Place was clean and staff did a great job. This is a 100 times better than subway!!!!

This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last! You must know, I'm VERY PICKY about sub places! We set off to try something new and it paid off! The business is small but doesn't feel cramped. The interior is decorated with miscellaneous fire department doodads. We were greeted immediately and explained we needed a few minutes as we had never been. The nice lady behind the counter did not rush us and even showed us the bread for each sandwich size (even though we later saw it was posted right in front of our faces, oops!) He chose the large Italian with Mac and cheese, I decided to go out on a limb and get a medium "Club on a sub" with potato soup. I typically go for a meatball anytime I'm at a new sub place, but what the heck? I checked in on YELP and got an offer for a free dessert so we decided to split a brownie. You can round your total up to donate to fire charity, and as both of us are first responders We were absolutely on board with this! There were three people working but I think one was in training. The food did not come out fast but was 100% worth the wait! My sandwich was SO delicious and so big that I kept getting it all over my face! Lots of napkins needed! I would order it again and again. Probably in the smaller size though. The bread was fresh and The flavor was absolutely perfect and I think the mustard really tied it together. The soup had plenty of chunks of actual potato and a really good flavor! BF ate his whole sub before I could even ask how good it was. But the Mac and cheese? Let me explain, I like the stuff from the blue box. ONLY the stuff from the blue box! But I was intrigued... there was some type of crumbly goodness on it so I asked to try a bite. I am shocked to say... I would actually order this for myself and eat it all! Amazing! We finished with our brownie that was the perfect end to a great meal. I can't wait to come back and try something else!

Let me start out with I remember when the Firehouse Subs opened down off Fields Ertel and I see it may be closed permanently or relocated elsewhere now? I loved going there for the brisket sandwich. The sandwiches made back then were way bigger and had way more meat on them. This past June, we stopped by one in Georgia for lunch on our way back from vacation and due to COVID, they had no indoor seating so sat thru the takeout and by the time we found a park with picnic tables we found that our order was completely wrong? No brisket, no club like we ordered but we had two small Turkey sandwiches with just break and Turkey? So that brings me to today. If you create a membership, they put a coupon for a free medium sub for your birthday. We stopped in and ordered at the store in Kettering and luckily, they got our order right! Yay! The people that were working here tonight were super nice to us so that's great. Place was clean. Problem is for me that the sandwiches are just so small anymore. The bread has changed, the amount of meat has shrunk to kids sized portions to me. My wife looked at the 1st half and stated, 'well, I'm glad you didn't pay $8 for that because you'd been annoyed!?' Which was very true but it did taste good. So we have that. I know that the folks who own the store i Kettering probably don't have anything to do with the Cincinnati or Valdosta but it seems like this smaller sandwiches may be a corporate thing... I digress.

I stopped here for lunch today and ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sub. I was sadly disappointed when I got home and opened the container, I was sadly disappointed. There was barely any meat on the sub and there was even less peppers, onions and mushrooms. The only reason I didn't give 1 star, is because the staff was friendly.

I didn't think it was a hole in the wall. Nice place big menus. I had the meatball sub and it was delicious. I would recommend fire house subs for a great sub or for a party.

Pretty quick service and they improved their app. The app was clunkier in the past. This location also used to be a bit slow.

I don't like the food, but the workers are nice. Sometimes they are not fast when there isn't a lunch or dinner rush.

They did mention if we got food it would take 45 minutes... which I was not willing to wait. However, it was packed, lots of people. As it was my first time I didn't not know you had to order in your car or eat at the "bar" on the stools to be served. Which was fine, I just didn't know before coming. It is a cash only so when you come make sure you have that or pay via Venmo. It look like a classic place that people bring their families too enjoy a beautiful day at! Will comeback to try the food another time.

The Root Beer Stande is out here being nasty to people asking simple questions about their "bucket"…read moresundaes and deleting comments when customers point out that they're overreacting and being rude. Their food isn't that good either. Way too large of a menu and only a couple of items that they make just okay. On my last visit, I ordered their noodles and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were dry and flavorless. I actually had to add some milk to them and doctor them up once I got home to even make them somewhat edible. The noodles were over salted. I have hyponatremia, so I add salt to EVERYTHING. I couldn't have added salt to these noodles if I wanted to. Oh, and my root beer float was only half full. It was a great place when I was a kid. It's a shame what the new owners have done to the place!

I recently ordered delivery from this Culver's restaurant…read more I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss Value Basket which comes with a drink and side. I ordered the onion rings as a side which is about a dollar up charge. I also ordered a single patty ButterBurger with cheese. Delivery was really quick. The Mushroom and Swiss burger came in its own box. Both burgers were very good. They were seasoned really well, fried good and quite appetizing. The hamburger bun is a little thicker than most burger joints. The onion rings were very good, fried perfectly and not overtly greasy. The onion rings come with your choice of sauce. I chose Culver's signature sauce which is a white sauce, mildly spicy, and has a pickle taste in my opinion. I highly recommend. Food is a little more than most fast food places, but everything was packaged carefully and it appears they take pride in the food that they serve.

The food was great,as normal. I tried the cod sandwich, which was delicious & piping hot. Only…read morecomplaint about it is at looking at the ingredients online, it does have canola and/or soybean oil in the breading AND that it's fried in. The cashier was kinda pushy with the sauces. I asked if any sauces came with meals for free and she said no. All sauces are at least 35 cents. That does irritate me. Two things: 1st, that the menu doesn't list prices of sauces (at least list a price range instead of "sauces may have a fee") and 2nd, that the cashiers push them for every meal, every person. I wrote a great review last time we were here, but noticed another reviewer complained about being charged for the dips/sauces. I don't remember feeling pushed to order sauce the previous time, and I don't use much dip or sauce with my meals. But other fast-food restaurants automatically include dip/sauce with certain items like onion rings, so that is why I asked about a different sauce than the cashier was pushing- for my onion rings. But because of the extra cost, I chose not to order any sauce. It probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't noticed how the cashier girl kept pushing the boom boom sauce to every single person in our party, but without mentioning the extra fee. With budgets getting tighter & tighter, we're having to be more careful with our money. Thirty-five cents (or more) may not seem like much, but If everyone in the family orders 1-2 sauces, it can (and has in the past) add several dollars to your bill that you weren't expecting. We've been eating out a LOT because of a renovation we're working on. We've eaten at this Culver's quite a few times and until yesterday, all the cashiers have been pleasant, helpful & cheerful. I can't say yesterday's cashier wasn't pleasant, but it felt forced. Like she wasn't truly a pleasant cheerful person or really didn't want to be there. Most other cashiers in the past have been extremely friendly & helpful & seem genuine. Anyway, between the extra, hidden costs of sauces for your meal, the overall cost of eating out (anywhere; not just here) and looking at the ingredients lists online and (not surprisingly) finding MANY MANY food products containing and/or being fried in soybean and canola oils, we will be making eating out a rare thing ASAP- for out budget and our health! But the food does taste good. And I was pleasantly surprised to see ACTUAL BUTTER. Butter in the buns and if you get a butter packet, it's actually butter- not margarine or a blend with crappy oils. So that's a positive.
