Came here on a random Friday afternoon for the first time as we were directed here by the GC. This place is amazing. Anything you could ever want as far as stone tile flooring as well is definitely under this roof. On this particular visit that we were coming for tile and countertops. Tile for a backsplash actually. The selection, the choices the variety is frankly overwhelming, however, just pace yourself and you will get through it. The ladies at the counter who were there were very helpful to guide us as well as to help us register what you have to do as soon as you get there. Parking on the street is a little tricky, but you can definitely find some spaces. And it's always free, which is great. We had a great experience at MSI today. Lorelei was so kind and helpful, showing us around and helping us think through ideas for our counters. The stone slabs are so beautiful...it was a treat to walk around looking at options for our kitchen remodel. The MSI website is great, but nothing beats seeing the product in real life. HORRIBLE experience with this company. They used price gouging and pressure tactics to make us try to move forward on a project. They gave us 15 minutes to make a decision on their price gouge and threatened a transportation fee if they had to come back if the decision wasn't made NOW. Very disappointed at the way my son and I were treated here yesterday. Needed countertops for my kitchen and my son and I were excited to see all the patterns. I'm a single father with a 4 year old. He couldn't have been more well mannered he was holding my hand the entire time. We were greeted and signed in my son thanked the lady at the door and they escorted us to the area to look at products. My son greeted 3 more people and told them how "cool" everything was there and we started looking at things. We were told we couldn't go into the area where the cranes operated without helmet and that my son wouldn't be allowed to go on that side and we were totally fine with that. 5 minutes later another associate approached and told me we weren't allowed in there because my son is too young. 4 people greeted us and none said anything about us not being allowed in there. I asked why it wasn't on the website or at the door and why was I allowed in in the first place? He said "well we not need a kid getting hurt so you have to go". To which my 4 years old said that's not very nice. My son was disappointed I was disappointed and told them as I left I wouldn't use their company due to the disrespect. Nothing like making a strong first impression. Unfortunately this place made the wrong first impression and I will never set foot in there again. read more

The worst quality material you can purchase. Multi thousand dollar kitchen island stone turned yellow after a couple of years. We asked for them to send someone to inspect but instead refused and blamed the discoloration to water and detergent, even though we specifically followed the instructions for cleaning the stone. They sell low quality material and their customer service is even worse. read more

They were very courteous over the phone and when I walked into their office at Elk Grove village, they were very helpful, showed me the slab I wanted and I was out of there in know time. I am a contractor and will not be using MSI any longer, if my clients want to use them I make them sign a waiver. They sent out a piece of quartz with a factory flaw . They didn't want to replace it and it could not be buffed out. Instead they offered some money. My clients accept the offer a few months latter when I finally got paid. MSI said that was months ago "f**k you. Not very professional. They are bad people. read more

Original placed countertop was removed due to being the wrong size, not sure how they got their measurements. New countertop came with gouges the guy tried to fix but looking at it the next day it looks horrible and I discovered multiple scratches elsewhere. No Quality control. read more

A VERY busy place on a Saturday! They have an impressive operation to run customers through. A fairly broad selection and they take home samples for a lot of their stones. They lack adequate parking. Other customers were more helpful than the staff. We felt like a number not a valued client. read more

Wow, this showroom/warehouse operation was impressive.  It was by far the most massive, upscale, organized, and clean stone showroom/warehouse I have ever seen.  Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot, but I have seen a few, and they were typically dusty and spartan mom/pop operations, but in the end they also did get the job done for us.  Here, there was a receptionist, a check-in using your smart-phone including a Covid health questionnaire, racks of hard hats for our visual slab inspections, helpful staff, clean and separate showrooms for mosaics, porcelains, marbles, granites, quartz, and who knows what else as we weren't looking for everything.  There were also many take-home samples available, and a nice little bag provided for such.  Overall, very impressive!  But do we pay for all this in a more expensive slab product? (We were looking for either a new granite of quartz kitchen countertop.)   Upon receiving both a granite and quartz quote from our installation contractor a few days after our visit, the answer is - apparently not!  The quote we received was very competitive.  At a minimum, there is an economy of scale working for MSI, and to the best of my knowledge, they look to be the Amazon of stone suppliers, so kudos to MSI! read more

I was sent to MSI by my contractor. I walked in, was assisted by default; it didn't feel genuine at all. You sign o min, and your pointed (literally, by ginger) to your area of interest. Without having a lot of experience or knowledge...I sorta looked around, found two slabs that I was impressed with so I open the door to "customer service", I walked up and expressed my interest. The lady responds, "yeah, you'll need to work with your, fabricator. I thought to myself, I'm spending my money, I expect MUCH BETTER service, walked out. I'll never return again! read more

Excellent selection of natural and fabricated stone wholesaler. They do not sell directly, so you will need to have a fabricator lined up to reserve slabs. Highly recommend a visit to their showroom and warehouse, as they have many displays and more options to see then your local fabricator showroom, plus a well stocked self-service sample bins. Downsides are that they're very busy and have small number of client facing staff in the showroom, so don't expect much attention if you are just browsing. Booking an appointment in advance is a must. Lastly one additional downside is you have to book a second appointment if you want to view specific granite slabs for final inspection and even then you'll be hard pressed to have them pull new slabs to view more in the same visit. read more

Would not take back unused tile that was sold exactly the way I was given the pieces from them. Literally brand new still individually wrapped. Was told it would be approved and then given a short email stating they would not take back. Very unprofessionally run business. I just visited the showroom. The personnel were very nice and accommodating and there was a nice selection of the product I was looking for.

MS International is a natural stone location for a number of area finishers, including the Home Depot and Granite Leaders. I went there to check out the slabs and make a decision on what type of stone (as well as which finisher) to go with. The way the warehouse operates is a bit confusing if you're not aware of the process. Basically, you come in, go to office, get a sheet of paper, someone may or may not help you around the warehouse, make notes about what you like, and write down the name of your finisher and your slab selections. They'll rotate the stone for you so you can select the actual slab. They do have a very large selection of different types of stone. But as a consumer this sort of process can be a little frustrating because you never know how much any thing costs as your looking (this is one of the major advantages of going with a place like Precision Stone where the two components are handled by the same company). I was pretty independent during my visit, so the lack of help was not a huge frustration for the most part. Though it was noted. I did see a stone there that I had picked out at the Home Depot before, and it was completely different in person. So the natural variation is key, and be prepared you may not like what you see. I also checked out the color I ended up going with at MSI, and I did not like the quality of the slabs they had. There were numerous yellow streaks throughout which was uncharacteristic of this particular stone. I found out later in talking to the company I did go with (Precision Stone) that this type of yellowing is indicative of fillers used to patch the stone. I did not take that to be a good sign. read more

My husband and I would like to commend Perla Zamora for her outstanding customer service.  Perla was informative and knowledgeable about all the products.  Her patience and advice were well received.  After visiting your property 3 times and going to 6 other places, we finally found what we wanted, only to discover the slabs were already purchased.  Perla kept in touch with us regarding new arrivals and when our chosen slabs arrived, she promptly contacted us.  Not one of the other 6 businesses have gotten back to us to date! Thank you Perla for giving us the kitchen we so desired and thank you MSI for having excellent employees like Perla Zamora.  We will return AND tell others "there is only one place to shop and that is MSI AND ask for Perla Zamora." Tale of 2 experiences here. The people in the customer service area are rube, not helpful and deceitful. I went there to tag a slab I had picked out, unassisted, of course. I told them I was using a local kitchen designer who had a fabricator and they did not believe me. Had to call him up and get his ID and the fabricator. My designer, who uses MSI frequently, called her up and told her he had never been asked this before. She didn't care. Finally, after wasting my time with all of this, they agreed to tag the slab, there were three. However, They would not let me choose. Said I had to take the one showing. Can you imagine spending thousand of dollars on a slab and not being able to choose? So, I went out on the floor and had a very nice blue helmet guy worker assist me in looking at the slabs. I would say stay away from these guys if you need service or straight answers. They work with Home Depot so I guess they have all the business they need. Nice selection and warehouse and you can pick tiles there as well. However, after my experience with the slab, I wouldn't buy a single tile from them. read more

This showroom is very professionally laid out. The format makes it extremely easy to see a wide range of products which, in turn, makes it easier to choose. The staff was professional, friendly, and happy to answer any questions I had. At the same time, they gave me space and time to explore without a salesperson lurking over my shoulder. This was my first time at MSI and I was very disappointed in my experience and think your customer service needs a critical re-vamp. It was ridiculous. Upon signing in, Ariel asked me if I liked the slab which was on the floor (no) so they told me I could view others. I was given a pager to wait my turn. When it went off, they told me it'll be a few more minutes (in which case, why do you even use a pager if you're not ready). I don't understand. Upon getting "help," Ariel pointed us to a new slab and tell us, Review it did tell me if you like it. She heads back to the office, no other information. It took me 30 seconds to review and I went back to the office. We had mentioned we liked the previous slab better. That one was taken. What about the 3 others behind it? Taken. If we want to see more we need to wait. I thought it was our turn?? I asked how long the new wait would be. I was told they didn't know (no pager this time) and if I'm hungry, I can run out and get lunch. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What kind of process are you running there??? Trust me, if I would have left, I would have asked my fabricator to work with another warehouse. There were no explanations given. Literally just minimal answers to my questions. I sat down, extremely frustrated. I went up to another gal who worked there (unfortunately, her name escapes me). I explained that I was frustrated, disappointed and getting angry -- which I didn't want to get. She apologized, told me it was because Saturday's are very busy. I told her I understand but expectations needed to be set. While the team knows the process, the public does not. It's best to set expectations, explain the process and and customers won't get frustrated. She sympathized and helped us out immediately. After speaking with her, the process took 10 minutes!! Prior to speaking with her, I was already there for 2 hours!! I work in the service industry and this process is unacceptable. The only reason you received 2 stars is because of the lovely lady which explained everything to us and spent more than 20 seconds with us. Even your laborers in the stone room advised me on the process which was different than what Ariel and the office were executing. If your own employees cannot explain what is going on, the process is broken. MSI came off extremely disorganized, unprofessional and as amateurs within the industry. I would advise that you work on your process. It starts with your leaders. read more

Appreciated "clearance" for covid upon entry, free small stone samples to bring home, offer to ship to me samples that were not available, and required use of hard hats when in industrial area. Selections are largest I've found anywhere in the Chicago area for countertop slaps. Area showcasing tile for floors and backsplashes is huge, well lit with names of tiles clearly shown, and the large selection is displayed under bright lites and on walls (hung vertically), in color groups for mixing and matching. Help was available if/when I had questions. They are readily available for questions and clearly explain the process of obtaining estimates from your contractor/fabricator; consumers cannot purchase directly from MSI. All areas are bright, clean, and organized. I will definitely visit again to narrow down my choices for a bath and kitchen remodel. read more

The person who check us in was extremely rude. We had our kids with us (didn't know they weren't allowed due to Covid) we were told they had to stay on the couch. Luckily we had someone with us that could watch them so we both could look. I asked a question about it when I was checking in and I was told that I they aren't responsible for watching my kids. Like I would leave them there by themselves?!?! So rude and condescending. We will probably end up buying from there but I'm glad my contractor will go there to order so we don't have to deal with the front desk staff. read more

What a fantastic operation!! First off, EVERYONE was VERY friendly, organized, helpful & accommodating! The VAST selection of slabs, granite, marble, stone, tile etc was amazing! You should not have a problem finding items that you like or coordinate with your color scheme/design. I would not hesitate to return to MSI in Elk Grove, whenever I am in the market for stone, granite, tile, etc...products. Also, I have every intention of referring anyone in my "circle" to MSI in Elk Grove for their stone, granite, tile, countertop, etc needs! We found exactly what we were looking for and was able to obtain a sample, too! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE FANTASTIC OPTIONS AVAILABLE and THE UTMOST QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE! We got Quartz counter tops through MSI two years ago and already the edges are all worn down and one is even cracked after TWO years. I called MSI and because our contractor ordered it for us MSI will not come out and look at or even fix the counter tops. MSI told me they will only deal with the contractor and the contractor won't return my calls. We spent over $5,000 on the Calacatta Venato Quartz counter tops at MSI and now they won't even repair or replace this terrible product. Don't waste your time or money purchasing their awful quartz. read more
