Poor follow-up service. Experience was fine when shopping for product and measuring for countertops. The problem occured when we noticed a Nick in the quartz after install. It took several months to schedule fix. On day tech was supposed to come out, there was a miscommunication with my husband. Tried to get them to come back out to no avail. I highly recommend New Stone Design. I have never experienced such responsiveness from an owner but Greg kept me informed of proposal, measurement, removal, and installation date/times with accuracy. It wasn't just the administration staff giving me a date with an am or pm window timeframe. Their selections are amazing from traditional to modern and their speed in fabrication was exceptional. Let's just say I will take this experience as a learning opportunity. I hope whoever reads this (especially if it's your first time remodeling your kitchen) will be better prepared with questions to ask a company before being completely disappointed.... First off, one of the owner/reps came to give us a quote. I asked him if he would be able to add the quartz to the window sill to which he said ... yes we can do that Follow up Questions you should ask: 1. Will you install the quartz in the window sill to be level with the windows? 2. Do we have to remove the old window sill to have the space ready for you? As a kitchen remodel newbie, I figured that if we are paying a good chunk of change for a company to INSTALL countertops then they would INSTALL everything we asked for....WRONG! I completely felt like a deer in headlights when the guys finally came to INSTALL our countertops and said "we can't put the window sill quartz bc your contractor has to have it ready for us." As a company, they need to set the right expectations from the beginning. If they can't, which by the way my contractor said it's their job to do so, then the guy who told me yes, we can do that should have verbalized the expectations to not cause such chaos and delays to our project..... One example of his response could have been: I understand you want quArtz on the windows however keep in mind that we will not remove, adjust or modify anything. We can simply only SLIDE the quartz into place. The worst part is I tried to reach out to the guy who gave us the quote and let him know that I was confused and as to why he couldn't finish the job given what my contractor told me. He said no worries, send me pictures and will take care of it.... I waited two days and no response, let's just say he left me on "read" On day three of waiting, I called him with my husband and he said his workers are on vacation and he might be Able to come next Wednesday but they can't do anything but slide the quartz in... Really?! Even I can do that. Save your gas don't bother to come. Now I am stuck with an additional 400 bill from my contractor and a two week delay to complete my kitchen bc this company did not set the right expectations.... Please do business elsewhere! read more

These guys were great. The only complaint I would say was that they came a day later than promised which threw off our timeline a little. The price was way less than another place we were considering by almost $2k and the quartz countertop selection was way better. They also recommended a more modern shape for our island which was a great idea. read more

Don't risk and find someone else. Worst experience. Job quality 3 , costumer service 1 . I was not home when they finished and payed these guys through the phone. Bad decssion. When I got back , I have found a lot of issues . Tried to call thay guy and he ignored my calls. Talked to a girl in the office, sent her pictures and she promissed me they'll fix that. Wonderful experience. Tried to buy countertops from Floor and Decor, which outsources everything to a vendor that was unresponsive. Our contractor recommended this place -- Mirek came out to measure with very little notice, and countertops were installed within a week. Worth the drive out to Schaumburg to see all the pieces they have in the Waterhouse. A woman walked me around and helped me find the perfect countertop. Poor Quality. Poor Customer Service. Terrible Owner. I ordered a plain black quartz countertop from New Stone Design. The countertop installed had multiple scratches and chips (see pics). After two weeks of calling the owner and 4 days of waiting for somebody to come fix it (though they did not show up), someone finally came... only to leave a huge smear (see pic). Then, the calling and texting continued for another two weeks. The owner decided to give me another countertop instead. Two weeks later, the countertop to be installed was the wrong color. The installer decided to remove the smear with acetone. Which worked! But, it did bring one of the small scratches back. I will live with it at this point. For $950, I expected quality product. If you can't deliver a quality product, the customer should not have to call daily and be ignored (see pics of text conversation). Also on both days on installing, only one person came. My husband had to help pick up and put on the counter. Luckily, he works from home. The first time the counter was to be installed, the installer told me the owner of New Stone Design said there would be someone to help him pick it up... no one ever asked me to provide help in the installation. After going through this experience, I read through the reviews and it appears others have faced this terrible service before. Not sure how they have such high reviews for rock bottom service. If you want to test them go ahead, but make sure you have at least a month and a half to get a decent product and be ready to call the owner everyday to get it. read more

The estimator, Mirek Duda, measured twice (so his guys would only have to cut once), and the installers arrived on time. They were very professional, taking great pains to make sure my countertops looked perfect. I had asked for the piece cut out for the sink to use as a cutting board, and the guys at New Stone Design agreed. Unfortunately, they forgot the cutting board, and were short one small backsplash piece (of less than 1 sq. ft.). They agreed to return in "a day or two," but I had to wait more than two weeks and four or five follow-up calls for that to occur. Mirek eventually had a new installer bring the cutting board and the backsplash. He arrived exactly at the time agreed, so all was forgiven. I am very pleased with my new quartz countertops. The price was right, and the quality is top notch. I would recommend New Stone Design to all in need of new countertops. read more

Buyer beware! I chose a Taj Mahal for my fireplace and went to view the slab. When the stone was installed, there were several visible fillers in the stone and heavy coppers spots in some areas (which is not desirable for a Taj). Normally when you chose your stone you AVOID these imperfections and cut only the favorable parts. Greg proceeds to tell me "this is natural stone" and imperfections occur. And yes I understand that, but people purposely avoid these parts (fillers and copper spots) when picking their stone. I felt I was given the bottom of the barrel stone and was expected not to notice. Once confronted, Greg refused to do anything about it. I went to several fabricators and asked for their opinion and they said they would never give a client such stone unless approved. Which was not approved by me. So now I'm stuck having to replace the stone at my own cost. Pls do your research and find a fabricator who will tape out your stone and work with you so you are satisfied with your stone. This is a lot of money and I'm trying to save you some so you don't end up in my situation! read more

Absolutely THRILLED with my new counter tops! Greg, one of the owners, was phenomenal to work with. We went to their showroom in Schaumburg and it was really easy to look through the samples and pick out the quartz counter we wanted. While there, we also selected the sink we liked. After that, Greg suggested we go take a look at the actual stone slabs and gave us names and addresses to three different distributors so that we had plenty to pick from. After picking out our stone, Greg personally came out a day later to measure and we had the counter top installed 2 DAYS LATER! That's unheard of! Everyone told me it takes 2 weeks since placing the order for measurements to take place and counter top to be installed so I was beyond thankful that it happened all within 4 days! Unfortunately, our experience was horrible! We ordered stone for two bathrooms. The fist one was quartzite. When installed it looked like not polished and smooth. We tried to polish ourselves, it didn't work. The stone looks beat up and used. The granite for master bathroom came cracked. It took Mirek, the owner almost 2 weeks to come and check it out. Then another week to install a new one. Mirek does not respond for a long time, extremely unprofessional. When second countertop for our master bathroom was installed, we couldn't use it at all as it was not sealed, the granite soaked in water. When asked Mirek to come and do it, he said that our contractor should do it. I've never dealt with the company so unprofessional and horrible quality overall! read more

I have never had a bigger regret in my life. I purchased quartzite counters that were extremely expensive (a massive upcharge over granite) but besides the beauty I was told these counters would be extremely durable. Within the first week of install I had etching on areas of my counters. When I confronted Greg about this he told me he would send someone out to fix the problem. No one ever showed up on the scheduled day. Then after I went in to speak to Greg in person he stated once again someone would come by and then cancelled the day before stating he was too busy. This went on a few more times and finally I contracted someone else to help me fix the problem. Greg sold me very expensive counters and isn't standing by his product. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone and caution all. The customer service/satisfaction is terrible once he cashes your check. read more

I worked with Mirek to choose 3 different countertops (beige/brown, gray and white) for our 3 bathrooms. He texted me early one morning and said they broke the brown countertop, and he was sending pictures of substitute options, and I needed to choose one quickly. I picked a picture I liked , and said if this is brown then I will take it. I came home after the installation and saw a grayish green swirled countertop. I texted him and said this is not brown, and Mirek told me that people see colors differently. He said if he changes the piece a new one would cost $700 I said to compromise I would pay another $350 and they could have the other countertop back - he said no because he had a whole yard full of that grayish swirl countertop (I know why!) Like other reviewers who had problems, Greg said he would come look at it, but after a while he stopped responding. I can't in good conscious recommend this company. read more
