Mt. Fo'rest is an awesome stationary shop in Pasadena selling all types of amazing products. They have a small parking lot here or street parking all around the area. All of the staff here are super nice and helpful. Definitely stop by if you are ever in the area or looking for some stationary upgrades!

3.5 stars This store is tucked away between Peach Pl and Del Mar. This stationary store is small, but it carries quite a few sticker brands that I like. It doesn't really wow with a clutter of stuff like Kinokuya, but it's also not overly crowded and makes shopping a comfortable experience. Price point-wise, I'd say it is quite expensive with washi tape costing somewhere between $5-$10 per roll and stickers also being $5-8 per sheet. They got the famous hobonichis and other journals and plenty of pens to choose from. I bought their matcha, some 0.38mm & 0.50mm pens, and some stickers. You don't want to know how much I spent...trust me ;p (After trying the matcha, I can tell you that it is nice and smooth, not bitter. Idk if it's worth the price, but it was definitely a nice treat for me.) Overall, my experience was pleasant and I'd come back.

Mt. Fo'rest is a nice little stationary shopping with a variety of items. Follow Google Maps directions to get directed to the back of the building where there is limited parking spaces and store entrance. Greeted by super nice staff and asked if wanted a welcome snack which was a wafer cookie or pocky. As far as items, stickers, washi tape, pens, fountain oens, journals and more. If you can't make the trip to Tokyo, good place to pick up stuff. Currently, have a promo of spend $50 and get a small tote bag and bookmark.

What a cute little shop! Stopped by today to check it out and it didn't disappoint. While the location is quite small, they make the most of the space they do have. Everything is displayed and organized perfectly well. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. While they were extremely busy, they still make time to answer questions and point people in the right direction. I did love the selection that they have available. I was hoping that they had more writing journals. But I was informed that they will be restocking soon. They had an absolutely beautiful sailor fountain pen that I was fortunate enough to get as a gift for my husband. We did check their price compared to prices elsewhere and I do have to say that their value was right on point.

I'll start with the cons first. I paid to park only to find free parking around back. You can't go in the door on Del Mar. You have to scan the code on the door to find out where to go. What if you don't have a phone? It was much smaller than I thought from the pics I'd seen. I bought a $10 roll of tiny stickers that I thought was washi tape that was wrapped up so I couldn't tell. I opened it when I got home and it wasn't what I thought. You can't pay cash. :-( It seemed like there was a private party taking place behind a curtain that was taking up half the store. The pros- the staff was super friendly and offered me a cookie when I walked in. There were lots of cute Japanese stamps. My purchase came in a cute little cloth drawstring bag. It might be awhile before I return.

This past Saturday was International Stationery Store Day... I chose to begin my journey with Mt. Fo'rest! This is a new Stationery Shop that isn't usually open on the weekends, so I knew it would be busy due to the accessibility to all who couldn't make it there during the work week. If you like the Japanese artists' sticky pads, washi tape, stickers etc. You'll also find a great array of journal notebooks - I spotted my favorite Maruman and Leuchtturm1917 as well. Paint supplies are here too!! The staff are so gracious, and it was a hot day, and the lines were long to get inside, but they came out with water bottles and thanked us for our patience. I will certainly be returning. Respectfully Reviewed.

This place is so lovely. Full of so many incredible fountain pens, inks, washi tape, journals, and more! I loved the wide variety of brands they had. They even had a lot of Traveler's Company items for sale, including inserts and various covers. They have a beautiful selection of Kakimori inks that were so hard to resist. I love that they had so many inks including Kakimori available in the fountain pens at the testing station for customers to try out. It was so fun to try out all of the different items and I ended up finding some lovely dual-sided Sailor brush pens to purchase! I hope they add chairs or stools to their testing station in the future because it was hurting my back and neck a little bit to try out the pens there. The prices are actually very fair and comparable to other stationery places/sites like Jetpens, which was a very pleasant surprise! Made me feel like I was getting a fair deal for my purchases. I also want to point out - when I came, it was such a hot day. They were quick to offer water and a little snack to us and their other customers which was so considerate. I'm not sure if those were just leftovers from their recent grand opening (congrats to them, btw!) but it was very much appreciated. Will be bringing back all my stationery loving friends! :)

Hot and new, Mt. Fo'rest is a new addition to the bustling local Pasadena makers scene. I love stationary and have eagerly been waiting to check it out after seeing it on social media. I parked conveniently through street parking, they also have a small backlot shared with neighboring businesses. The shop is small in size but large in the amount of stock and variety. I browsed through watercolor palettes, sketchbooks, bullet journals, pens, post-its, and seasonal cards. I loved seeing a section of local craft makers, including handmade wallets, bags, and scarfs. It's a wonderful collection that is so thoughtfully curated by the staff. I love how each staff was knowledgeable and eager to help me find the perfect stationary and even considered various aesthetics and leather binding. For the quality, these items are worth it all. I will definitely be back for my next shopping spree!

One of the better stationery stores I've visited! I loved how welcoming and helpful the employees were. They have a great selection of stickers, notebooks, and other fun random items too! I wish they had a more diverse selection for pens but regardless my visit was well worth it. I like how everything is spaced out and their attention to detail. I can't wait to visit again :)

After my recent trip to Japan, aka stationery Mecca, I'm so happy to discover this local stationery store and had a really nice experience. First off, I suggest not parking on Del Mar but going on De Lacey Ave to find their parking and entrance at the back. I came the day after the Christmas, so much of their stock was low due to Christmas purchases, however if that means this local store will continue to be open for awhile to come, then that is happy news for me. I was still able to find much of what I was looking for and a few items I wasn't. 10/10 for service as the employees were friendly and very helpful. I probably took up too much of their time as there were many others customers, but one particular employee was so patient with me as we talked through various pens and inks. I recognized many items and brands I had seen in Japan and felt like the prices were standard for what you would find from imports. When checking out they put my smaller items into a small canvas drawstring including a few branded stickers and a pack of Pocky. Overall I had a super great experience and will be returning soon!

What an awesome stationary shop! Seems like they had a lot to choose from, pens and paper, small stamps and washi tape. We were welcomed with a free cookie! Cool stickers and some neat small goods.

This is my new favorite stationery store. It's a hidden gem (ie, a little hard to find) but it's worth the search! I loved basically everything about the store- enthusiastic staff, lots of travelers notebook accessories and inserts, an awesome stamp station, soooo many stickers, and a ton of cute little extras for Stationery Store Day!!! Do yourself a favor and go here!!!

Entrance to store. Grand opening celebration!

This is a cute boutique store directly across from the main entrance to Pasadena City College. It has a beautiful view of the campus. When I entered the store I was greeted by a friendly hello by a gentleman by the name of Ruben. I asked about his store and what they had to offer: flowers and gifts. He showed me around the store, proud of the selection of items available. He explained how they're able to do everything you might need for every occasion - or make any day a special occasion. Candy, specialty items, personalized gifts, bouquets, individual flowers, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, wedding floral arrangements, your selections make your event unique. They make your decisions easier by giving you alternatives. I enjoyed my visit, but most of all I enjoyed becoming aware of a business that is so indicative of Pasadena. A place where the people are concerned about helping their neighbors, friends, and clients succeed with their goals. The heart of Pasadena Butterflies are the people that are behind the counter. I look forward to utilizing their services in the near future. I not only recommend this place, I hope that you stop in just to say hello and look around.

5 stars -- A Truly Heartfelt Experience at Pasadena Butterfly…read more I had the most beautiful and memorable experience at Pasadena Butterfly last week, and I'm so grateful to Cindy and Ruben, the amazing husband-and-wife team who run this flower shop with such love and care. It was my very first time making a bouquet -- something I've never done before -- and they didn't just sell me flowers, they taught me how to arrange them thoughtfully and beautifully. Cindy and Ruben were incredibly patient and kind throughout the whole process. They guided me step-by-step, shared tips on balancing colors and textures, and even made sure my final bouquet had that extra special touch. You can really feel how much they care, not just about flowers, but about the people who walk through their doors. Whether you're buying a bouquet or learning how to make one from scratch, this place is more than just a flower shop -- it's a hidden gem filled with warmth, creativity, and heart. Thank you again, Cindy and Ruben, for making my first bouquet-making experience unforgettable. I'll definitely be back.

I researched a lot of flower shops and decided to go with the Flowerman for my mom's birthday flowers. Ordering over the phone was very easy. I told him how much I wanted to spend, when I'd like to pick up by, and requested a bouquet that inclined my mom's favorite flowers - lavender. They require immediate payment so I paid for it over the phone. This is a beautiful shop! It smelled SO nice right when I entered the shop. As they were getting my order together, I walked around and looked at the different creations. Even bouquets that are behind glass doors are beautiful to take home on this spot. When my order came out, the first thing I noticed was that there was no lavender. I asked the shop associate "where is the lavender?" She went back and checked my order and said she'll put some in right away, she also added additional roses to the bouquet, which really brightened it up and made it feel vibrant. I appreciated that they quickly made adjustments to the bouquet. The final bouquet was beautiful. I'm very happy with the overall look and feel of the flowers. I definitely recommend them to others, I will likely use them again for my own needs. Thank you!

The way he wrapped the flowers was sloppy, and honestly, most of the flowers in the shop looked stale or half-dead. After he finished, I asked for the price and he said $38 plus tax. That immediately didn't add up. Gladiolus stems are usually around $2 each max , but he claimed they were $6 per stem. Even at that price, 10 stems should be $60! ...so how did he land on $38 and then add tax on top of that? The math and pricing were completely inconsistent. It felt like he didn't really know what he was charging or was just making up numbers on the spot. Between the poor quality flowers, messy wrapping, and confusing pricing, the whole experience was frustrating and disappointing.
