Never knowing what to expect of a small, locals only type of a bar, I sat in the back and kept to myself at first but within minutes, the bartender and the locals sitting at the bar started talking and including me in their conversations. This place is great!! Every single person there was nice, fun, and pleasant. I also loved the ceiling!! Full of $bills$ that patrons have decorated and hung from the ceiling. There were only a few beers on tap which was fine by me because they had a Pilsner and a hazy option. They also have a full bar and the bartender was quick.

When you arrive, be sure to glance just past the bar and see the sign for "Lizard Xing" and look for the attack lizards inside. If you peek outside in the backyard you may see a casket. Not sure what it's for, and maybe don't ask, but certainly check it out and look around for other fun! Lastly, make sure you look above the last chair of the bar, next to the patio door. They call it the "Asshole Corner" and it was super fun to sit a friend down their and snap a pic without them knowing! We drove over the mountain on back roads in SXS UTVs to get here, and the effort was well rewarded. I'm not saying this is a destination BUT if dives are your thing, then make it one!

The food was very good as was the service. After the meal, the waitress coherced us into the cheesecake for desert. She said - if we liked - she could serve us on the patio. The sun was setting, and the weather was beautiful, so we took her up on it. What began as a question marked evolved into an exclamation mark. The cheesecake with blueberry compote was Devine. Was it worth the wait? Yes, for the cheesecake alone. If you are visiting the Mt. Lassen area, this place is a must. Barring the inaccuracies of the website, the experience was wonderful. I could rate the restaurant a four, for the error, but they get a six for the cheesecake, so five it is.
