My wife and I found this place accidentally while on a short vacation. We stopped and inquired about returning for dinner that evening. The host said " not a problem. Plan on around 7:30, the crowds diminish, and the sunset is beautiful." He also said reservations are fine but not necessary. Cool, see you this evening. Returning to the B&B, I decided to research the restaurant. I found the website, and searched the menu and reservations. The website said closed, and no reservations available.I thought it odd that the information was in conflict, so I called. I received confirmation that the were open, and made a reservation. After arriving that evening, we were told we needed to wait awhile because the server was busy. We waited patiently for about twenty minutes to be seated. After finally being seated, we waited again to order. The place was very busy for a Wednesday evening. After all the waiting, I started to wonder it this would be worth it. Finally, the meals came. The food was very good as was the service. After the meal, the waitress coherced us into the cheesecake for desert. She said - if we liked - she could serve us on the patio. The sun was setting, and the weather was beautiful, so we took her up on it. What began as a question marked evolved into an exclamation mark. The cheesecake with blueberry compote was Devine. Was it worth the wait? Yes, for the cheesecake alone. If you are visiting the Mt. Lassen area, this place is a must. Barring the inaccuracies of the website, the experience was wonderful. I could rate the restaurant a four, for the error, but they get a six for the cheesecake, so five it is. read more

Ehh I kind of don't understand the hype. The food was okay. The calamari was the only thing that was memorable to me. Those were delicious. We enjoyed those. The steak was cooked well. Oh wait, the lavender honey butter was also delicious. The service was not great. But our server was nice. I could see she was slammed and was receiving no help at all by others that were just standing there and talking. I understand most times restaurants don't share sections, but it would've made the experience better to have someone help with our drinks or something. It was relatively busy so the noise volume was up, but we could still hear each other. The surroundings are pretty. We were looking forward to try it out here after reading the reviews. But we were so disappointed with our experience and the over rated marks. We stayed at the Village across the street so decided to give it a try. Came in last night to try there dinner, no greeting for awhile then finally someone come to the front but was told oh your waiter or waitress will be right with you, and walked away then another gentleman step up and seat us while the other were just standing around chatting. It wasn't busy yet at the time too. He brought us water. Waited another 15 min before waitress stop by and ask if we wanted anything to drink. We said we ready to order. She wasn't very friendly didn't ask how are we or how is everything going? Toke the order and see no one for another 15-20 which is the same gentleman came to refill our water. 30 or so minutes late our foods came. The sun was hitting me in the eye and face I have to use my hand to cover the whole time she didn't even concerted or ask if I like to move to a better table. Nope. Then take off another 20 minute before come back or so ask how was my foods and I mentioned to her that my mushroom sauce is salty and all she said was oh and walked away. I ordered the Chicken Marsala . My mash potatoes was cold and no taste, my chicken was over cooked on bottom side so hard to cut. The top drum was under cooked by the time I cut to it. Waited a long time before she show up at out table again. Walk by couple time but not stop by to Che k on us. So when she did I told her that my chicken is under cook she said she take it in and take care of it. After 30 minutes later she show up and said" oh since you eat most of the meals we can't do anything for you but offer you a free dessert " still have half mashed potatoes and half uncooked chicken left too. Not even at the first time mentioned my mushroom was salty to do something about it for me and then the uncooked portion of the chicken. I was so angry and disappointed of this so call high end restaurant bad service and attitude too. And my sister ordered the Beast burger which also came out very salty meat patty and fries are small broke leftover pieces with one or two regular on top to cover. It was a horrible experience there. We arrived shortly after five for an early dinner. The dining room had only a few other guests. Initially, our service was good and our waitress was attentive. However, has more people showed up. She walked past us several times without stopping. She did not inquire how our meal was. She did not make an effort to refill our water glasses. The pear salad and Panko cauliflower were great. The Panko breading was light and crispy. The blue cheese dressing on the salad gave it a lovely zing. My husband had the buffalo short rib. There were actually three small ribs. A flavor was good. I made the mistake of ordering the fish and chips. The broccoli slaw that accompanied it was old and rubbery. The fish itself was very tough and not flaky. Thankfully, they adjusted our check and removed it. We both had dessert. My husband had the bread pudding. The bourbon sauce was very strong and alcoholic flavored. I really enjoyed the chocolate mousse. Although the atmosphere is mountain elegant the meal wasn't worth the price. read more

The experience started when pulling into the parking area, such a beautiful meadow! Upon entry the restaurant is well designed and we were greeted immediately. We selected an outside table and for us that was the perfect setting. Service and food were outstanding! Perfect score for this restaurant. The calamari is highly recommended for you to try- it was soft inside, little crispy on the outside. This restaurant was surprisingly outstanding! We were staying at the villages across the street and this was one of two options for dinner in the area. The restaurant had a warm, cozy, and upscale ambiance. We were able to walk in at 8pm on a Saturday without reservations. After being seated, complimentary bread was served, which was a nice touch. I liked the bread but not the flavored butter (a little too sweet). I had the 16oz ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The steak was nicely seasoned and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were AMAZING. So creamy, savory, and delicious. The vegetables (zucchini and carrot) were also a nice balance to the richness of the meal. My husband got the country fried chicken and also loved it. For dessert, we got the cheesecake of the day (tres leches). This was again super tasty even though I was really full at this point. It was intertwined with cheesecake and tres leches - very moist and refreshing. Extra shout-out to all the servers here. They were all extremely friendly and attentive. We drove up from Red Bluff without a reservation on a Friday. Asked if they had a table and informed us that we would have to sit in the bar area....OK Ordered two drinks (just ok) and then dinner. Took a long time for our dinner but did get our wedge salad which was good and bread came out later only because we asked. Shrimp scampi with wild rice-tasteless shrimp, sauce on rice was very tangy and not good. Filet was overcooked (ordered medium rare)tough and dry, baked potato was ordered with the "works" and came with ?melted cheese and the vegetables were cubed carrots with broccoli heads but so salty inedible. The waiter did come and ask how our food was and was told about the tough, overcooked steak with a response of: would you like it put back on the grill!" Offered a free dessert and chose cheesecake to go. Sampled it at home and it also was terrible. We have eaten at least 4 times and have always had great food but were very disappointed to spend $140 on terrible food. Our dinners were not very good-filet was dry and tough, informed the waiter and was offered a free dessert. Baked potato was just topped with some kind of melted cheese(I ordered with the works) and the ?carrots/broccoli side was so salted I could not eat it. My husband had the shrimp scampi with the wild rice and the sauce was very tangy and the shrimp were tasteless. We did have two drinks (just ok) and no refills on our water and the bill was $141.00 and that's without a tip! Hidden gem! I drive by here and had no idea there was such a beautiful restaurant located on these grounds. The entrance has large inviting wooden doors. As soon as you walk in you feel in awe. They have done an amazing job making a very classy restaurant in the middle of a beautiful forest, meadow scenery. There is a full bar and table seating. A large indoor fireplace I'm sure makes this extra cozy in the winter. Coca-cola from the bar was tasty and full of carbonation. Love that! My burger was good. Fresh bun. Secretly I want to selfishly give this place 1 star to keep it a secret and stop people from going but that's just not fair! Absolutely my partners and I's favorite place and best kept secret. No matter the season it's a beautiful drive up from Chico; in the winter you get to see the snow and in the summer you get to enjoy slightly cooler temperatures. The view of the meadow is gorgeous no matter the time of year and even if you're just in for lunch you feel like you are on a vacation. Our favorite thing is to enjoy food and pay then start a new tab at the bar and hang out for drinks in front of the fire or on the patio depending on the season. Staff if always friendly, food is always good, and we will always visit whenever we need a little daycation. NOTE: No pets allowed on the property! Understandable based on the ecosystem but still a bummer and important to know if you are hiking or traveling with your 4 legged companion this unfortunately will not be a stop for you. read more

Nice little step away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. My family and I enjoy going here for their Thanksgiving dinners. Years ago they had a buffet style Thanksgiving meal which was awesome but I did overeat so this year their itemized menu for Thanksgiving was preferable ! Service is always on mark and the setting next to the meadow can leave you breathless from the back deck. They also have these small cottages on the property which look really cool. They have a massive fireplace with couches and chairs around it just adjacent to the bar. I highly recommend this place for dinner or snowshoeing. This is our 3rd time in the restaurant/ bar. We spent the afternoon watching the 49'er playoff game in the lounge area. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Forgive me, but I didn't catch the name of the woman who is at the desk right when you enter. She was so lovely to us, turning the volume up so we could hear the game, engaging with us. Just as pleasant as could be. Riley also was very friendly and helpful too. Garrett is a great bartender. We spent the entire afternoon talking to him. He's a wealth of knowledge, mixes a great Bloody Mary and Margaritas. Garrett add a prawn to your Bloody and it's a home run!The chipotle honey prawns are amazing. Not to be missed. We didn't get to stay here at the resort, although, I very much would like to if I ever came back to the area! We're visitors from Sacramento and we planned a two-day trip in Lassen National Park; we were on our way back to our cabin/lodge and we desperately wanted food at the first decent place we could spot on our drive since we knew the restaurants near our cabin closed by 8pm. We came here not knowing what to expect and were worried that we'd be turned away for not having reservations and for still being in our all-day hiking gear, but gratefully the staff was sweet and even gave us a choice of where to sit! We wanted to sit outdoors on the patio but it was full, but we were able to sit at the bar tables near the bar and it was an intimate setting for my boyfriend and I. The biggest highlight was the Beer Board (a flight of 5 draft beers with chicarrones) and I would not shut up about it. I was a little impatient because I thought the waiter forgot our chicarrones, but no, the kitchen took it's time with it because it came out 100% freshly fried, piping hot and crunchy and OH SO PERFECT with my beers. I'm a huge beer peson and the fact that they had drafts available, my night was off to a good start. Our server was also really sweet - my boyfriend doesn't drink but the server offered two samples (of their lightest beers) for him to try; eventually, my boyfriend caved and tried their mountain mai tai and he said it was stroooong and well worth it. Honestly, their cocktail menu looked amazing, if we were staying at the resort itself, I woul've definitely tried multiple of their cocktails. but anyways -- the fresh chicharrones are a must!!!!!!! We also got a pasta dish and the highlands ranch burger -- very decent and satisfying, as honestly, we weren't hoping for too much for us being in the middle of nowehere. yesterday, January 9, 2026 me and my partner decided that it would be fun to go up and see the snow and have dinner at this establishment for our anniversary right off the bat you could tell the type of crowd that is normally in this place. The environment and the setting were absolutely gorgeous, however, the hospitality and the service was not as nice. The gentleman that said Us was very friendly. He took our names. He brought us our water He was very nice. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we had our server come over and ask us if we were ready to order. He didn't try to engage in any casual conversation. He didn't try to ask if we were staying at the lodge like all of the tables around us, he didn't try to make us feel welcomed at all. There was a couple that walked in and sat about 10 minutes after us, by the time we got our order in, they had already had drinks and their first course. Then it came time for our meals, I ordered a filet mignon with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes, the vegetables and the potatoes were both ice cold. I had to send them back to go get warmed up. My partner ordered the beast burger with no mushrooms because she is allergic to them, instead of making the with they made it with no tomatoes. They were nice about taking it back and removing it from the bill however, the whole time our server was very short and even once we were done, he had came over and asked if we wanted anything else we said no thank you we're OK and he just said OK very short very quick and walked away as soon as we said anything. My partner and I had come to this establishment hoping to just have a great experience. We've heard good things about this place, it's gorgeous, and completely raved about, that, however, was not the case. Just because we are two women and have tattoos doesn't mean that our money does not spend just as good as the rest. Bigotry and prejudice are NOT ok. We are very friendly people and we had full intentions on spending a lot more money than we did, but we didn't even feel welcome enough to spend the $15 on one drink that we had originally ordered. This place is absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure it would be a lovely experience, for a straight couple going to have a good night. read more

Made with mahi mahi, the beer batter was nice and came out hot. I was given two pieces of fish and felt they were on the smaller side but very tasty. I was surprised by the size because I saw pictures of larger pieces on Yelp! The chips, or French fries also came out hot and had a nice crunch while having nice texture inside. I feel for the price, a third piece should be offered in the meal if the pieces are going to be the size I received. My DH ordered the jalapeño bacon burger and said it was very good - Juicy and flavorful. I hope to return in the future for dinner. read more
