They've used them in the past- praising their work and professionalism. So my family and I went with them. They took my mom from the Piedmont Hospital and from there took very good care of her. We had a meeting the same day she passed and they were very sympathetic and patient with all our questions. We ended up purchasing a beautiful white casket. The following week we had the visitation there at the funeral home, service at the church, and the burial at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina. The most memorable moment for me is the slideshow at the visitation. Amy the receptionist did an amazing job with the pictures we picked out. The music and the way it was assembled brought tears to many included myself. It displayed living her life to the fullest. I was impressed with the website. It showed the obituary, the dates and times of the funeral, leaving comments, and if you would like to purchase flowers. When your loved one passes away, it's stressful and the most difficult part of your life, but Thomas Poteet made this transition so easy. The communication was on point and the staff was very sincere and understanding. My family would like to thank you for your service and watching over my mother.

But,…read morebeing a place I know well, I'll provide my thoughts on various aspects of it that others may find helpful: LOCATION Near the Augusta National, Westover is accessible via Berkmans Road SIZE Very large - if attending a funeral here, the roadways will be marked with "Funeral Route" signage. Note that most of the roadways in the cemetery are just barely wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other. If encountering one coming toward you, slow down and hug the shoulder of the road. THE GROUNDS The grounds are well maintained, and include a duck pond and meditation garden. Do be aware that, while you're welcome to place flowers and other memorials at a tombstone, the maintenance crew will remove them and throw them out once they're out of season. Westover is a peaceful place - allowing you to think and remember.

Frank and I talked, great guy, very willing to help... he and I agreed I would bring my part in for him to see if he could fix it. I brought the part in and again, the lady (the manager) was being difficult that they had to have my machine etc. I told her the agreement Frank and I made (that he would try to fix that particular part and if he could I would then bring in my machine to be serviced). Then the manager told me I would have to pay a $30 deposit. Now why am I paying a deposit when they have my part... of course, I can't get the part back without paying for it. Needless to say I told her I was done with their company and would never use them again. Nothing but a manager and some staff impossible to deal with (rude etc) and asking for deposit when I clearly cannot walk out without paying once repair of part was made. The only two people I spoke to at that company that knew how to deal with customers was Sharon and Frank.

My grandfather and father has done construction work for them, residentially and commercially. So it's pretty much a no-brainer when it comes to burial needs. Her wake and her remains were handled with care. There was tons of family I haven't seen in years there. She had 33 grandchildren so there was tons of kids running around. This was not only displayed throughout the service but also during the business aspect of the process. Now to fast track ahead one year after mom was buried. On Memorial day this year (2019) family went to the graveyard to pay our honors. We drove down from ATL. We were heartbroken and saddened when we got there that a headstone had not been ordered and placed on mom's site as was promised (family member). So, hubby and I called Mr. Reid (Sr) for guidance and direction (a year later!). He remembered us. His service did not stop last Spring. when mom passed but he treated us as though we were still his customers. We were very touched and will follow through with his directions. I rated this funeral home with a 4 star only because they could use an update on some of their aesthetics (looks) ... modernize the facility. It was agreed to at that time, with witnesses,…read morethat his friends and family from the North Augusta area would be able to view his body at the Posey's North Augusta SC location on Georgia Ave after his passing. So he passed and I witnessed Posey's telling his surviving wife that friends and family would NOT be allowed to view his body, the wife only could view. The actual viewing would be in another State because the immediate family had called after the death and made changes. This broke my friend's wife's heart and she cried as she ran out. This upset me because this man paid for a final wish that he wasn't going to get. It was explained to me (not him) that the law says immediate family is brother and sisters and not the surviving wife. Brothers and sisters can change funeral plans regardless of who pays for the services or what the original agreement was. I protested this and 2 men representing Posey's finally relented and told me that friends and family now COULD view the body. This satisfied me because I believed them. In the end only the wife and 1 person was allowed into the building. You readers know it would cost more money to allow other people in, you also understand my friend asked for and paid for this service. My advice to people considering trusting these people to handle a funeral is simple... You have been warned. Buyer beware!!!
