One thing that has stuck out to me is the willingness to listen and work with us as parents from the staff about personal issues or behaviors. Our little guy is a bit of a rambunctious one and everyone has accepted him for who he is all while taking the steps to guide him in his educational and social growth! Tyler is a fantastic director and I would recommend this school whole heartedly!

Our family is incredibly disappointed by our experience with Valley Vista Preschool, and after…read moreeverything that has happened, we cannot recommend this school to other parents. The final straw came when our child was expelled on his birthday--the same day we had brought cupcakes to school to celebrate with his classmates. Regardless of the circumstances, there is simply no compassionate or professional way to justify delivering that news to a young child on such a meaningful day. It was heartbreaking and is something no family should have to experience. What makes this even more frustrating is that the school had insisted we complete a comprehensive evaluation through UpLift Therapy. We spent $750 on an assessment, scheduled at the school's request, because we believed we were working collaboratively to support our child. Before that evaluation could even take place, Valley Vista expelled him. Looking back, it feels as though the evaluation was never truly about helping him, but simply about justifying a decision that had already been made. Throughout our time at Valley Vista, we consistently felt that our child was singled out and treated as though something was inherently wrong with him. He is a loving, bright, energetic little boy. Like many preschoolers, he had moments of conflict and frustration. We have never excused biting or any aggressive behavior, but context matters. Preschool-aged children are still learning emotional regulation, impulse control, and conflict resolution. That is precisely why parents enroll them in preschool. The school informed us that teachers witnessed the entire interaction leading up to the incident and were in the process of intervening. If staff observed the conflict escalating before it happened, it raises an important question: why wasn't it prevented? Supervising children and intervening before situations escalate is one of the primary responsibilities of preschool staff. Despite repeatedly asking for objective documentation regarding these incidents, we were never provided with anything beyond verbal descriptions. We also never observed this level of behavior in other environments, making it difficult to understand why our child was consistently portrayed as the problem. Unfortunately, we also found certain staff members to be cold, dismissive, and lacking the warmth, patience, and encouragement that young children deserve. Children are incredibly perceptive, and they know when they are not welcomed or embraced. What became increasingly clear is that Valley Vista seems to have very little tolerance for children who require patience, guidance, or individualized support. It felt as though the expectation was for children to behave like robots--quiet, compliant, and never impulsive--instead of recognizing that preschoolers are still developing emotionally and socially. The purpose of early childhood education is not simply to teach children who are already "easy"; it is to help all children learn, grow, and navigate challenges in a safe and supportive environment. From our experience, our child was treated differently from the beginning. Whether intentional or not, he appeared to be labeled rather than supported. That differential treatment left us questioning whether he was unfairly profiled. A preschool should focus on helping children succeed--not finding reasons to exclude them when they need guidance. We understand that every school has a responsibility to keep children safe, and we respect that. However, safety and compassion are not mutually exclusive. The way this situation was handled lacked empathy, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping a child through a developmentally appropriate challenge. For us, this experience revealed a school that seemed more interested in maintaining an image of perfect behavior than in fulfilling the mission of early childhood education. Families deserve to know that if their child experiences behavioral challenges, Valley Vista's response may be exclusion rather than partnership. We sincerely hope the school reflects on how it supports children who need additional patience and guidance. No four-year-old should leave preschool believing they are the problem--especially on their birthday.

The teacher-student ratio is low, allowing for focused one-on-one attention and for learning to occur at the pace of the child. The yearly curriculum is modeled around on the interests of the kids and is approached through various lenses, allowing for deep exploration and finding connections in the material. What sets Imagine apart is their genuine commitment to fostering independence and critical thinking from such a young age. Rather than just giving answers, Teacher Suraiya and Teacher Diana encourage the children to problem-solve and explore the 'why' behind everything they do. Not only do they facilitate this with academic learning, but with peer-to-peer interactions as well. Their approach to social-emotional learning is thoughtful and inspiring, and we've seen a huge shift in how our daughter identifies her emotions and navigates social interactions with empathy and confidence. Imagine's thoughtful approach to academic and personal development leave me with no doubts that our daughter will be well positioned to transition to school when she's of age. Highly recommend!

It was wonderful to see the children come together like one big family--greeting each other warmly and saying goodbye as a group. We truly enjoyed all the creative art projects Ms. Emma introduced to the classroom, along with her gentle approach. There was never any pressure or hostility if a child chose not to participate in an activity, just gentle support. My son was introduced to STEM activities and did creative projects like transforming the classroom into an entire farm or a market. It was so hard to move to Pre-K, however, Ms. Veronica helped him blossom academically and socially. She is truly incredible!! We have seen our son transform and grow. He now communicates and plays well with peers. He has shown tremendous progress in academics under Ms. Veronica's guidance. She provided us with daily updates good and bad. We celebrated milestones and achievements and worked on issues together. As a parent, you're kept informed of all activities. Every month a calendar is shared marking the daily activities. In Ms. Veronica's class, each week was focused on the letter of the week and all the activities were based on the letter. This was incredibly helpful as we would continue it at home. What immediately impressed us is RN's incredible Director, Ms. Rosalie. She always has the warmest smile and knows about every single child and what occurred during the day. I'm not sure how she does it, but she stays involved and extremely supportive of all families. Her attention and compassion is what makes RN so special. On top of that, she makes the most amazing banana and zucchini bread!! It is true that they say it takes a village and RN has become our village! All the teachers at RN are incredible. They are friendly and always there to help. The kids engage in so many different activities ranging from baking to sports. In terms of details, they have a great balance of outside and inside activities. Parents can choose to pack a lunch or order from their easy menu. Parents pack a snack and I found this most helpful because I could monitor what my child ate. We are so grateful to Robbin's Nest and would recommend it 10/10 for the care, growth, and confidence it brings to children and families alike. I highly recommend to all our friends and family for the incredible experience we have had. It is really hard to move into the next chapter as we start elementary, but with the help of Ms. Veronica and Ms. Rosalie, we are ready to move forward.

I'll begin by stating the obvious: finding someone to take care of your baby is not easy. I met…read moreLinda when I was pregnant with my first child while taking a walk around the neighborhood. Linda was, by chance (and luck), outside her home. She was friendly and introduced herself and her daycare. Being a FTM, I had no idea that good daycares get booked up quickly, so I didn't bother following up until after my son was born. That was probably one of the bigger mistakes I made as a new mom. When I reached out to enroll my son, her daycare was already full. Through a long and unpleasant process of trial and error, which involved enrolling and taking my son out of three different daycares for a variety of reasons (e.g., high staff turnover, too many illnesses or accidents, napping my then 18 month old at 3pm daily, etc), I finally found a preschool that fit. I wised up with my second child and enrolled my daughter with Linda during my first trimester. Having toured almost every infant care (both larger operations and smaller, in-home ones) and a sizeable number of preschools in the La Crescenta/La Canada/Montrose area, I can say with confidence that enrolling your little one at Miss Linda's Little Sprouts is *the best* choice you can make as a parent for your child. Some highlights of my experience with Miss Linda's Little Sprouts: 1. Linda has decades of experience and is a genuine, kind and friendly individual. She only accepts 4 children max and because of this small ratio, I can see that she's formed trusting bonds with each of the children. My daughter never cries when she goes to daycare, reaching out eagerly for Linda in the mornings. Linda has provided a safe and nurturing environment for my daughter, and I 100% trust her. 2. Linda really works with you as a parent to accommodate your wants and your child's needs. For example, while other infant cares would not allow me to bring food for my child in glass containers, she never had such a policy (trying to limit BPA exposure here!). My daughter has had trouble gaining weight and Linda is diligent in making sure she eats, including taking the time to spoon feed my daughter most of her meals. Linda and I share similar philosophies with respect to sleep/naps; since going to Linda's, my daughter has been able to fall asleep without assistance and generally sleeps through the night. Linda also sends me texts, photos, and/or updates throughout the day. She's also so helpful - my baby bottles and food containers are always washed before pickup! 3. The daycare is *clean*, which is so important to me. While my son was sick basically every other week when he started infant care, my daughter rarely got sick here. 4. Linda runs a fun and age-appropriate program for the kids. They always seem entertained and to be enjoying the various toys she provides. Linda sometimes takes them into her backyard on sunny days for mini water and other outdoor adventures and regularly plans fun art projects for them. She talks and sings with the kids, and my daughter knows and can say many words, including animal names and noises, colors, numbers, etc. Final note regarding the one negative review, this was not representative of my experience at Linda's daycare at all. I am truly so thankful to have my daughter in Linda's care. My daughter was only 5 months old when she started and is now a happy, sweet, and secure toddler - I attribute this, at least in part, to Linda and her care, love, and capabilities as a caregiver.

From day one, Linda extended her warmth and made us feel like family. Her genuine love and compassion created a safe and nurturing environment where my daughter absolutely thrived. The level of care and attention she provides is unmatched due to the small size of each infant group. Each day, she never failed to keep us updated on her growth, milestones, and all the little moments we didn't want to miss. Linda's facility is surgically clean, organized, and filled with toys, books, and other learning materials that engage and support development. What really impressed us was the way Linda fosters creativity, curiosity, and kindness. Our daughter experienced so many "firsts" including art and language. And learned so much that helped her grew into a confident, happy little human. Thank you, Linda, for the peace of mind you've given us and the joy you've brought to her early years. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a trustworthy and compassionate home daycare!

The small classes allowed my son to learn in a classroom with a low student to teacher ratio and in an environment that allowed him to learn at a flexible pace. My daughter currently attends the school and since my son left the school, LCMS added a cooking class, Spanish class, yoga, hands-on science class, gardening, and soccer for the kids. In short, they added more programs to provide a well-rounded learning experience. The teachers are nurturing, encouraging, and kind. One of the first things that stood out to me was the director, Ms. Suzie. She is always incredibly responsive whenever I have a question or concern, and she is so approachable and easy to talk to. That level of communication gave me so much peace of mind. What has truly kept us here for the past 4 1/2 years, though, is the amazing team of teachers. My oldest has already gone through four different classrooms, and every single teacher has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They treat the children as if they were their own, and that means everything to me as a parent. My kids absolutely love going to school.
