As a former student here, I have a unique perspective that outsiders may not be aware of. While the…read moreschool claims to promote "individual excellence," in reality, I was punished and relegated to the back of the room whenever I hiccuped or tapped my feet. I recall being loud and talkative in the past, but now I barely speak due to the way the teachers and several students treated me. The effects of that bullying still linger to this day. The bullies were once my friends, but they turned on me, and the teachers failed to intervene or hold them accountable. The group was led by one student whose parent worked at the school, creating a toxic environment where the teacher selectively disciplined the class. I was sent to the principal's office or the back of the room multiple times a day for things other students were doing without consequence. Notably, the teacher acted differently whenever another adult was in the classroom, showing she was aware her behavior was inappropriate. I attended this school for two years when I was 10 and 11; I am now about to turn 15, and hopefully, that puts into perspective how long this has affected me. This school silenced me. I was bullied almost every single day, and even after I left, some students continued the harassment. Another review mentions that the founder/principal knows everyone by name, but knowing a name is not the same as knowing a student's heart or ensuring their safety. Leadership failed to act when I was drowning in a toxic environment. I could say a lot more, but I've already given this school enough of my time and my silence. I am sharing this because I don't want anyone else to feel this way. Do not waste your money on this school; protect your child's mental health. The tuition does not provide safety in this 'Christian' environment."

My son has learned so much in the year that he had gone here, and is ahead of most of his friends, thanks to Kindercare. They are excellent about keeping the center clean and their Covid protocol is top notch. The teachers really care about their students and go above and beyond to keep lines of communication open between the parents and themselves regarding the children. They also have an App. that sends up to date notifications straight to my phone with pictures of my little ones! I trust KinderCare immensely and wouldn't send my kids anywhere else!

Ms. Lashae was our primary point person during our time there and would always greet us with an excited "Good morning!" and enthusiastic remarks at the end of the day about how the day went and the progress our child was making. As first-time parents, this means so much! Getting the pictures throughout the day and updates when I would come to pick up, made me know that our toddler was cared for and nurtured so lovingly while with Ms. Lashae and Ms. Ronesha. Airin and her team were so incredible to us. Airin held our hand every step of the way with this transition to daycare for our family. I do not know how she and Julie juggle all of their responsibilities so gracefully and can be so responsive to calls and emails while also keeping the center running safely and efficiently. I was excited to be able to send my daughter there when they had a spot for her in July 2020. When COVID hit they were able to accommodate me and I was so grateful to have a safe place to send my 4 month old. Although I'm sad to miss the experience of "picking her up" inside the school because of COVID they do a good job of giving me updates about her day with a daily schedule. They moved my daughter up to another room after a few months of being there and I can honestly say she is thriving! She comes home happy and tired which is a plus for me. Her motor skills and social interactions have also excelled because she is trying to copy what all the older kids are doing. I really like Discovery and all the wonderful staff there. I'm glad my daughter found a home away from home.

When I went in to check out the facility, everyone was very courteous and attentive, answering all my questions. Their facility was incredibly clean and the rooms are large with several stations for the kids to play in. My twins are 3 years old and they were in Ms. Ashley's class. She was amazing with them. We had just moved in to town and Discovery Preschool was very sensitive to the children's needs since they were in transition. They provided constant care and routine for them when it was really important. They were very supportive and helpful with potty training for my one who was reluctant. My kids learned a lot in their program in the short 4 weeks they were there. The only reason I took them out was that we moved to another part of town so I picked a preschool that was closer to home. I would often sit with my twins as they ate breakfast so I would take my time with them before leaving them there. No one ever had any issues with me spending time with them at the school. If we move back to this part of town, I would love to put my kids back at this preschool. They loved their teachers, their class and their "friends."
