While there is an assortment of cakes on display, we tend to always gravitate to fruit-topped ones, like the one we recently purchased, the Diplomat cake. It featured three thin layers of sponge cake with fruit-laden custard as the filling between the cake layers, topped with more fruit. Since we were celebrating a birthday and Father's Day at the same time, the counterperson added well wishes on a satin ribbon to the cake. We were done with our purchase in less than 15 minutes and were soon on our way. At home, the light and flavorful cake was large enough to feed the crew, and then some.

I so far have enjoyed the crème brûlée and Oreo and can't wait to the others when I get home. We also loved the mango shaved ice and found the small sizes to be perfect for single servings, especially for people who doesn't usually finish our sweets. The mango pieces were soft and fresh, made to taste sweeter with a drizzle of condensed milk. Small pieces of mochi contributed to elevating the texture even more. Overall, we had a wonderful time each visit and could see ourselves being able to relax and spend hours there. Staff were kind and tried their best to work as fast as they could. Recommended to me by a colleague, this inconspicuous little joint has everything from sandwiches and pizza to focaccia and delicious coffee. And don't even get me started on the croissants - they're like little pockets of heaven in your mouth! I ordered a coffee, some cookies, and an almond croissant - and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. My wife got some kind of pastry that I also ate part of because that's how i ROLLLLLL (and I needed to wrtie this review) The best part about Nonnina? It's conveniently located off the highway, so you can stop by whether you're driving into or out of Montreal. And let's be real - when you're in Lachine, everything is "on the way" because you have no idea where you are! Apparently this was the place. There was a slight line on a Friday afternoon but it moved too quickly. No English menu on site but they have an English version online. The girl described the hurricanes like a DQ Blizzard. So I thought perf. The small was HUGE. And my bf and I were thankful we decided to share one. It's a generous serving. The bottom of the hurricane had hella Oreo and I wish it was like this throughout. I could have done without the addition of the plain vanilla swirl but I also appreciate it lol. Both of the owners explained all the dishes to us and were so helpful in making our decisions. We started with the lemonade which is house made by their own mother every day. It had a different type of sweetness to it, almost like it was made with honey instead of sugar but I really enjoyed it. We also got the Trio of Salads which were so good! A few of them were a bit spicy but nothing we couldn't handle. They also kept the bread coming which I never hate! We also split the Tuna Brik and it was amazing! For our mains we had the Honey Lamb which was covered in pistachios. The lamb fell right of the bone and was so tender. We also tried the Ojja which is more of an elevated Shakshuka - dipping the bread in the sauce was a highlight at the end. Overall, this was such a unique meal with wonderful flavors. The owners service was the true stand out of this meal. They really do provide a wonderful experience for all of their guests.
