Patisserie LaSalle has been a part of numerous celebrations in our family over the years. We like…read moreit because there are numerous cakes available for purchase, without pre-ordering. In addition to those found in the freezer, there are some located in the case, along with a number of Italian cookies and pastries. While there is an assortment of cakes on display, we tend to always gravitate to fruit-topped ones, like the one we recently purchased, the Diplomat cake. It featured three thin layers of sponge cake with fruit-laden custard as the filling between the cake layers, topped with more fruit. Since we were celebrating a birthday and Father's Day at the same time, the counterperson added well wishes on a satin ribbon to the cake. We were done with our purchase in less than 15 minutes and were soon on our way. At home, the light and flavorful cake was large enough to feed the crew, and then some.

I tried out the chocolatine and it is pretty big in size. It was very soft, fresh and filled with chocolate. Almond croissant was just as good, super sweet with plenty of filling. Cheese danish was soft and creamy with a generous amount of cheese and not too sweet. The tomato & cheese pizza had a generous amount of sauce and cheese, it wasn't dry at all and super tasty. Hoping to make another trip and try out some of the pastries along with the many flavors of pound cakes they have.

Should've trusted my gut Food took ages, Courtney was STARVING and getting emotional. Her pasta was crunchy (sorry but that means RAW) and my burger tasted like it came from a packet. Not what you expect when you're paying these prices. They didn't have oat milk so Courtney couldn't have her iced latte and that basically ruined the whole evening. She sat there saying the "vibes were off" which as her mother I could immediately tell was TRUE. Staff were friendly but a bit too laid back if you ask me. This isn't a festival, it's a RESTAURANT. Won't be rushing back. Courtney says she's "never eating here again" and honestly I stand with my daughter. DO BETTER. -- Sharon x

We took a chance on Terracotta our first night visiting Montreal as they had amazing reviews and…read moreI've never tried Tunisian food so I was looking forward to it! We didn't have a reservation but the sweet man who greeted us found us a table very fast. This is a family owned business and you can tell how much pride and love they put into it. Both of the owners explained all the dishes to us and were so helpful in making our decisions. We started with the lemonade which is house made by their own mother every day. It had a different type of sweetness to it, almost like it was made with honey instead of sugar but I really enjoyed it. We also got the Trio of Salads which were so good! A few of them were a bit spicy but nothing we couldn't handle. They also kept the bread coming which I never hate! We also split the Tuna Brik and it was amazing! For our mains we had the Honey Lamb which was covered in pistachios. The lamb fell right of the bone and was so tender. We also tried the Ojja which is more of an elevated Shakshuka - dipping the bread in the sauce was a highlight at the end. Overall, this was such a unique meal with wonderful flavors. The owners service was the true stand out of this meal. They really do provide a wonderful experience for all of their guests.
