We did not have breakfast here as we were hurrying to our next destination. Give yourself more time than expected as there was a line when we were checking out around 9 am. There is free parking on site which is always very convenient, and pets are allowed here too. There is a pool with water slide and a hot tub. The place was packed with people, especially children since it was the last week of Spring break, There is also a gym here. Our room was surprisingly big. There was a sitting area with sofa and fireplace. There was also a microwave besides the usual fridge and coffee maker. No bottled water. The bathroom was equally spacious with a big bath tub and seating area. You could fit two in it. Same with the separate shower area. I do not understand why there are showerheads on both ends though, Maybe to save time if you are there with a partner to shower? Checking in and out was quite a breeze. No issue on that. Free wifi, not spotty at all.

Free breakfast included waffles, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs etc. Room was clean and hotel was quiet. Thank you Squamish Sandman for accommodating us at short notice and for being so terrific!!

We had few issues with the room upon check-in so we had to go up and down but then it got solved and we got good room. We got a nice complementary chocolate plate from the hotel for our 6th wedding anniversary. Parking was inside the garage and it was for additional cost $40 CAD which is very pricey. We heard that hotel has a free shuttle service to town, as well as drop off with a private car (first come first serve). We didn't used it because we wanted to walk since weather was so nice, maybe next time. Hotel has a few restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed nice lunch at Portobello, I highly recommend their cuban sandwich and Belgium hot chocolate. Breakfast place The Wildflower was very crowded and service was very bad. Most of the people take buffet and if you want to take a la carte you will wait even longer for the food. However, egg Benedict was excellent and cappuccino and latte is speciality coffee and cost extra but it's worth it. We reserved the Wildflower for anniversary dinner. The ambience doesn't feel like in an upscale restaurant, maybe because we used to this as a breakfast place... Food was good my husband took lamb loin, I took elk tar tar that was divine, clam chowder was good as well. But we didn't felt romantic atmosphere, the place was very casual and we felt like we were overdressed. Service was better than service at breakfast. Room was very spacious, we got higher floor with a village view. Hotel was fully booked because it was last day for sky gondola for blackcomb mountain. Pool and spa felt overpacked! There were sooo many kids and few hot tubs were out of service. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however we felt it was bit overpriced. We loved the hotel, the location but service was lacking maybe because of the high demand.

Friendly, Helpful Front Desk | Great Location | Recommended for Your Budget…read more$ Duration of stay: 9 days Our price for each night: $50 (amazing!!) Room: 205 My husband and I were planning to originally camp at Klahanie Campground, but due to an unexpected storm that rolled in a week before our trip, we cancelled and quickly booked this place. We have no regrets!! First, the location is excellent. It's right in downtown Squamish! We were able to drive a couple minutes to the beach lookout, walk to Howe Sound Brewing (or you can drive, if you want), down the street from Climb On store and grocery store, 10-15 minutes away from Shannon Falls and Murrin Park, 5 minutes from Smoke Bluffs, and 10 minutes from the Chief. It's right next to this nice liquor store, too. We never felt unsafe in this area. It seems like everyone is really friendly here. We met Jared and some of the housekeeping ladies. All were very nice! Jared was incredibly helpful and friendly. He recommended SO many things to do: Alice Lakes, Garibaldi, Chief hikes, Shannon Falls hikes/gondola, Murrin Park, some scenic lookouts, and places to eat. His wife was super friendly as well. Laundry soap is $1, but we only had a $2 coin, so she gave it to us free because she didn't have change. Our room was neat, simple and clean. We had a window view of the Chief. There's a good sized fridge and microwave. Two fans, if needed (we never used it). Tv. Wifi. Laundry drums were huge, which was convenient to do one load. Soda machine and dvds for borrowing. **Stairs only to get up to your rooms. We didn't mind at all, but just making a note for people who have a hard time walking up stairs.** **Unfortunately, our room was next to the kitchen exhaust from the Ruddy Duck. We didn't mind though and closed the windows.** **No breakfast/continental breakfast** The reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars is because it exceeds our expectations of places we generally stay at. We're used to staying in dirt cheap places that are generally 2 stars on our climbing trips. We knew that this was an old building and neighboring a pub, so we were prepared and brought earplugs :P If you're looking to book in Squamish without paying a fortune, stay here. But, don't have high expectations like it's the Ritz. We cannot complain that we had a nice roof over our heads from the wet weather for $50/night. Thanks, guys, we'll be back next time for sure!

Well, where do I even start? The hotel is in a convenient location, and the rooms are decent if…read morebasic. My review is going to be on a specific experience I had on the first night of a two-night stay in the hotel. I was in the area for work. I got to sleep around 10:30 p.m. and awoke at 11:30 p.m. to the sound of a very loud conversation going on between two men in the hall outside my room. One person was that one end of the hall, and the other person was at the other end of the hall. They had a 10 minute long, meandering conversation about meeting someone somewhere else, or making arrangements to meet, or something. A couple of minutes into their conversation I shouted through the door of my room " hey can you guys keep it down please" and was ignored. A minute later I made a similar request, and was ignored a second time. The third time I stood right behind the door and shouted "WILL YOU TWO SHUT THE F___ UP?! PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!" The hall went silent. And moments later, one of the men previously engaged in a loud conversation about absolutely nothing replied "well, we work here, and I don't appreciate being spoken to that way". I was stunned. And even today, as I write this, I cannot process the following things in my mind: 1) why are hotel employees having a loud personal conversation in the middle of the night in a hallway right outside the guest rooms? 2) when challenged on their behavior, who the waterproof f--- is going to defend their behavior on the grounds that their employment in a hotel grants them some kind of entitlement to bray like jackasses and keep the guests awake at night? I mean, they're the last people one would expect to be keeping the guest awake, because if guests can't sleep there, guests won't stay there. And if guests don't stay there, there won't be any jobs there. I'm no economist, but even I can understand this. 3) did they miss the two-week module in Hospitality employee school where they learn that the guests are there to sleep, not to be treated to the auditory portion of a subpar David Mamet play? I don't even think I can finish this review. My mind is so blown by first of all by the disruption and second of all the attempted justification of the disruption that I think probably the best thing for me to do is just start drinking now. I know there's a bottle of Amaretto around here somewhere..
