We were able to drive a couple minutes to the beach lookout, walk to Howe Sound Brewing (or you can drive, if you want), down the street from Climb On store and grocery store, 10-15 minutes away from Shannon Falls and Murrin Park, 5 minutes from Smoke Bluffs, and 10 minutes from the Chief. It's right next to this nice liquor store, too. We never felt unsafe in this area. It seems like everyone is really friendly here. We met Jared and some of the housekeeping ladies. All were very nice! Jared was incredibly helpful and friendly. He recommended SO many things to do: Alice Lakes, Garibaldi, Chief hikes, Shannon Falls hikes/gondola, Murrin Park, some scenic lookouts, and places to eat. His wife was super friendly as well. Laundry soap is $1, but we only had a $2 coin, so she gave it to us free because she didn't have change. Our room was neat, simple and clean. We had a window view of the Chief. There's a good sized fridge and microwave. Two fans, if needed (we never used it). Tv. Wifi. Laundry drums were huge, which was convenient to do one load. Soda machine and dvds for borrowing. **Stairs only to get up to your rooms. We didn't mind at all, but just making a note for people who have a hard time walking up stairs.** **Unfortunately, our room was next to the kitchen exhaust from the Ruddy Duck. We didn't mind though and closed the windows.** **No breakfast/continental breakfast** The reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars is because it exceeds our expectations of places we generally stay at. We're used to staying in dirt cheap places that are generally 2 stars on our climbing trips. We knew that this was an old building and neighboring a pub, so we were prepared and brought earplugs :P If you're looking to book in Squamish without paying a fortune, stay here. Included a balcony with a view of a gorgeous mountain across the way. Best part, a mere 45 min from Whistler and 1 hour from downtown Vancouver. And much much cheaper than Whistler options.

I stayed one day at the Gibsons Landing Inn on a recent business trip to the area…read more I found them on Expedia.com which provided pictures of the Inn including the rooms and an overview of their offerings. Let first say that what was written on Expedia and the photos were 100% accurate. It's a lovely Inn/hotel...the kitchenette was very big, with nearly a regular size refrigerator. My first thought was this room was bigger than my first studio apartment (many years ago). The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The room was also appointed with a couch, a table with two chairs, lots of closet space and a TV. They provided free WiFi which was mostly reliable and like the big hotels squeeze bottles of lovely scented shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the spacious shower. What the Inn has in spades is serenity...there was hardly any outside noise...if the sliding glass door(to the patio) is closed, you get relative silence...the AC provided me with just enough white noise to be a comfort. If you have them open you'll hear the ocean and the birds more than the cars...very lovely! Lastly, it's within walking distance of the harbor and "Main Street" of Gibsons including a cultural museum, an outdoor piano, as well as some of the bars and restaurants of Gibsons. My POV of hotels is colored by the fact that I'm a 9yr Hilton Diamond member and there are certain amenities that I've come to consider as a given that is somewhat jarring when they aren't available like at this Inn. 3 examples: -no iron or ironing board-a business person like me needs an iron and ironing board. -the limited amount of outlets. I used outlets on every part of the room to charge my watch, two cell phones and computer. -no black out curtains, while the blinds offered privacy...they couldn't block out the light (natural or otherwise). I didn't bring my eye mask because I just take it as a given at Hilton hotels they have blackout curtains. Lucky for me I was too tired for it to matter. Lastly, every interaction was done electronically. There is no "front desk" and there isn't a breakfast area (that I was aware of) so once you're check in, you're on your own. It's the perfect place for a movie star (under an assumed name) to stay...no one will see you come and go. The Gibsons Landing Inn is a modern, well appointed and lovely hotel/motel/Inn. More fitted for the needs of the tourists to the area than a typical business person. Still knowing what I know, I'll probably be back next time Im in the area.

The Squamish Adventure Inn is one of them and the better of the three. We came here to stay a night and to get away from our busy schedule/ day. There were not a lot of rooms available at the time of booking. My friend booked the hotel/hostel. We got a private room in a shared room. We were in 208P and it was very interesting. When we entered the room 208 it has 6 bunkbeds shared with 6 people and on the side of the room there is another room labeled "P" and that was our private room. There is a bathroom and a shower room inside the room shared with everyone. The people in room 208 were very friendly and they were very young. I think many young people like to stay at this hotel after their Whistler trip, hiking trip and etc. We actually live around 40 mins away from Squamish but it was a very nice getaway for us to stay away from home. When we first checked in, we were given two pillow cases and a bedsheet. We had to make our own bed. This was quite interesting for me because I have never had to make my own bed when staying at a hotel. When we checked out, we had to remove the pillow cases and the bedsheet and drop those off in a bin located at the end of the hallway. This was the first time for me staying at a hostel. People were super friendly. There is a kitchen at this hostel and a comfy looking lounge area and kitchen sitting area. The downside is the interesting mattress. Because we were super tired and were only staying one night, it didn't really bothered us. The mattress feels like a trampoline. Yes, we giggled about it. Also, if you are staying here remember to bring your own towels. You can rent towels for a cost. Definitely a different and new experience for me. I do find that Parking is very limited. Luckily, I managed to find a parking spot here. I had a great time visiting Squamish and the best thing about this hotel/hostel is the location. It is just steps away from downtown. I booked a private room for 4, which was labeled hotel-style with it's own private bathroom and it came out to about $100 with taxes for the 4 of us. I booked about 2 weeks in advance. I noticed after I got confirmation, that check-in was to be before 9 PM. Knowing we were going to be getting in a little later Thursday night, I emailed them saying we were going to pull in closer to 10 pm. They responded quickly via email saying that was not a problem. We pulled up to the hostel around 10:05 PM, I checked in, and the lady showed me the place real quick, and advised the common areas (ie kitchen, cafe, movie room) were closing at 11 PM. They actually gate it off so there is no access during off hours. Our room was cozy. The beds were a little hard for me liking, but the room was clean. They provided a small fan. The window did not have a screen, so we did not leave it open to widely. So the room was a little warmer than we would have liked. Bathroom had a blow dryer, but you can only use it on low settings, so it's kinda pointless to use it. Notes say that if you use the high setting you will blow a fuse. Wifi was weak. The lady told us we could park at the entrance of the hostel on the road. So limited parking space. Cool that they had a slack line to play with and the property is on the river. Overall, if I was in the area again, I would book this place again!

One thing that surprised me was that there isn't a lot of cars parked in the parking lot but the inn itself was sold out and there are no frequency. Location wise is pretty good. It is about 15 mins walk to the seawall/Gibson Landing area. Drive to the ferry is about 15 mins. The room we stayed in came with a microwave, toaster oven, fridge, sink and two stove burners (that we didn't expect). Cutleries and plates are provided as well. The bed was not bad. It was comfy. Yes there is a TV in the room. I believe there are some long term tenants living in the inn and some short terms as well. We stayed here for 4 nights. Overall it was ok. The guy on graveyard was super awesome. He came to the front desk right away at close to midnight. He offered $105 for a room with a queen bed and gave us directions to the room, walking us halfway there. Our room came with a kitchenette, and I learned all rooms here do. Hardwood floors with tile at the entry and bath. Room was clean, although a little rough around the edges. Some paint, replace the burnt out light bulbs and small repairs and it would be perfect. Nothing to complain about as we could still see in the bath. Bed was quite comfortable. We slept like logs. Toilitries provided were just shampoo, conditioner and bar soap but again, nothing to complain about for a small place and the price. Blow dryer provided but no hot air and after 15 minutes of trying to blow dry my short hair, I gave up. They have an outdoor pool, free wifi, free parking and some rooms have fireplaces. We didn't try out the pool. Close to the ferry and definitely would stay here again.

These cabins are nice. The bed is so comfortable and they even have heated flooring in the bathroom. The cabin we booked came with so many things that you would never get from a hotel (I.e. toaster, cutlery, plates, fridge, etc.) and for pretty much the same price. Honestly, if I had plans to goo hiking in the area or boarding at Whistler, I'd make this my god to accommodation. It's also a 10min drive from Alice Lake. One thing to note, and by no means is this a complaint, but bare in mind that not all of the cabins have a decent river view, but accessing the Cheakamus is only a couple minutes away. You can definitely hear it though and it's actually very relaxing to fall asleep to. Info: - The staff are very friendly - Fergies cafe is located here, which is a huge plus. - The parking spot is conveniently located right in front of your front door, which is very helpful if your unloading a bunch of bags and equipment. - Check out is a breeze. Around this time is the beginning of autumn, so most trees were green with a few yellow trees! It was perfect! Everywhere you look is a photograph! The campfire was great. We used it every night! The lodge was amazing! We used it for bbq and karaoke (that we brought ourselves)! Fergie's Catering for our wedding was fine dining! The river was beautiful, and made everyone want to explore! The couple's cabin was super cute and cozy! It was difficult to leave as we had the most perfect wedding! Having our families stay in the cabin made the wedding last all night! It was the best experience! Our family loved everything and hopes to come back!
