We rented our snowshoes from the main lodge, which also had cross country ski rentals (apparently 90km of cross country trails, whatever that is in miles), snowboards, tobogganing, and so many more wintery things that are completely separate from my understanding of normal outdoor activities. I mean, where else can you find biathlon lessons? Obviously the surrounding area is gorgeous in winter, a wonderland of quiet white stillness, forests and forests of evergreens, and creek beds lined with powdery snow and ice. There are frequent signs and maps to keep you oriented along the snowshoeing trails, which was great for us noobs. You can do anything from short out-and-back trips to several miles of strenuous trails. One star docked because I thought the snowshoes were pretty pricey for a rental - a flat rate of $16 regardless of the time you spend with them. They definitely did not seem to be in high demand either as there were dozens of pairs behind the register. Maybe instead do an hourly rate instead? This is in addition to a per-person entry fee to the park. Also, some of the cross county skiers were surprisingly rude when we stepped on their track - I get we were in the wrong, but have a little grace and chill out just a bit.

I felt like I was in the Great Outdoors circa 1980, with zero comfort and no feeling of safety. Ps. the front desk closes at 6pm. So if you need anything, you had better have it on hand. Cheers!

The rooms were what you would expect for a place that was trying to have enough beds for lots of guest. Great patio/deck area!!! Loved the hot tub and that they had a grill! Only complaint was that all of us that read the description had no idea that we didn't get the whole house. There is someone staying below and then someone staying next to it. But even with not getting the whole place we still had plenty of room. Lots of linens and towels! And everything was clean and ready for use. They left us a personalized note and book of Instructions and recommendations. Overall I would stay here again.

Included a balcony with a view of a gorgeous mountain across the way. Best part, a mere 45 min from Whistler and 1 hour from downtown Vancouver. And much much cheaper than Whistler options.

We stayed in a Private family room that had a double bed on the bottom level then there were stairs leading up to the next level with two single beds. Shared Bathrooms were down the hall and were clean. One of the best things at this Hostel is that there is a huge kitchen that has every utensil/spice/whatever you could need in a kitchen and also has a comfy lounge area. It seems to mainly be used by the ski club and then renting the rest of the rooms out. The only problem with this place is that it closes in the middle of the day so if you arrive too early then you cannot access the accommodations and are forced to leave your luggage in a storage area, there also seems to be some fairly strict rules. Overall it is one of the most affordable options in Whistler and one of the closest to the Village so its definitely worth staying here if you don't need a party atmosphere.

The display photos were beautiful and were taken in breathtaking venues so we called. Jeff Boyce (owner) was very accommodating with our schedule and we had our family photos taken that week. When it began to drizzle at the beginning of our appointment, we all thought he would cancel but he assured us that the pictures would be fine and we wouldn't even notice the rain- or if it did show in the pictures, the lighting would make it look like snow. Although we were doubtful, he was absolutely correct! Jeff was patient and allowed multiple "family combinations". The areas he chose for our pictures were absolutely beautiful and we all have said that his pictures were some of the best we have ever taken - friends and family agree. Jeff was extremely reasonably priced, took amazing, creative shots and delivered the finished product on time and as promised. I would highly recommend that anyone vacationing in Whistler book a session with him. And if you are lucky enough to live in the area, book him for any event you have!

These cabins are nice. The bed is so comfortable and they even have heated flooring in the bathroom. The cabin we booked came with so many things that you would never get from a hotel (I.e. toaster, cutlery, plates, fridge, etc.) and for pretty much the same price. Honestly, if I had plans to goo hiking in the area or boarding at Whistler, I'd make this my god to accommodation. It's also a 10min drive from Alice Lake. One thing to note, and by no means is this a complaint, but bare in mind that not all of the cabins have a decent river view, but accessing the Cheakamus is only a couple minutes away. You can definitely hear it though and it's actually very relaxing to fall asleep to. Info: - The staff are very friendly - Fergies cafe is located here, which is a huge plus. - The parking spot is conveniently located right in front of your front door, which is very helpful if your unloading a bunch of bags and equipment. - Check out is a breeze. You just drop the key off at a box in front of the office.

You can also call them after hours if you need help with anything! It was a bit rainy, but this actually highlighted the colors of the forest! Everything was more vibrant! Around this time is the beginning of autumn, so most trees were green with a few yellow trees! It was perfect! Everywhere you look is a photograph! The campfire was great. We used it every night! The lodge was amazing! We used it for bbq and karaoke (that we brought ourselves)! Fergie's Catering for our wedding was fine dining! The river was beautiful, and made everyone want to explore! The couple's cabin was super cute and cozy! It was difficult to leave as we had the most perfect wedding! Having our families stay in the cabin made the wedding last all night! It was the best experience! Our family loved everything and hopes to come back!
