They have ALWAYS helped me figure out best choices for my light, soil, and garden situations with their prodigious knowledge. I often detour from my Interurban strolls just to check out their lovely variety of plants. Such a place of peace and vibrancy.

I love that. I love that they're raising baby chicks inside. *The exceptionally kind owners. They're always so calm, so kind, so friendly, so helpful, smiling all the time even though I know dealing with the public has to drive them batty at times. *The nursery feels like going to a friend's house. It's cozy and welcoming without the super sanitized commercial feeling of a lot of nurseries. *They're small but they have a nice variety. *They have some unusual things, too. I needed a lilac, not a tall big double bloom huge lilac like most people want. I needed a dwarf lilac and they had one. Perfect! *The location is great. Really easy to combine shopping, lunch, dinner, drinks at Fairhaven with gardening. *I love that they've been able go hang on in the nursery business for 27 years. If I was an owning-a-nursery kind of person, what their doing is how I hope I'd do it. Love, smiles, and hens in the mix.

It's a fun, large market, with a lot to choose from in the heart of Bellingham. The Bellingham Farmers Market occurs on Saturdays, so when I visited, I made my way over there an hour after it opened, and it was already packed! People get here early for the market even in the rain! I was impressed to see the large crowds with the wet weather, but it didn't stop us, Washingtonians. It really reminded me of a community event that many of the locals spend time at on their Saturday mornings - love that. The market takes place in downtown Bellingham, and has an outdoor area, along with a large indoor space where the market staff have a booth, selling their merchandise. It's also a dog-friendly market, so expect to see a lot of furry friends. There was live music, plenty of vendors of all specialties, and was next to a seating area where people could enjoy their market eats. I had a fun time, checking out all the vendors and supporting the local economy. I would happily be back to the Bellingham Farmers Market when in the area.
