Visited Attitash at the end of Feb for a couples ski/board break. First night in town we decided to go to a restaurant after our long day driving. We picked to go to Muddy Moose. We picked right! Great atmosphere. Really felt like we were in a restaurant at a ski resort in Europe. Both got burgers and they were so good. Fresh and hot, so needed with all the cold outside. The wife and I were hitting the outlets in North Conway and were famished looking for a place to grab a bite to eat amongst all of the wait times at all the local restaurants (even in the off peak season). We meandered in to this rustic establishment and were completely surprised that there was so much seating ... doesn't look like much from the outside but it can accommodate a good amount of people which is why we did not wait. We sat down and felt like we were in a family lodge to warm up to for some good grub so, the vibe was fantastic. Our server was attentive and super friendly and it seemed a lot like the staff and people working were family and really cared how your experience was. The food on the other hand was a little lack luster in freshness and good quality as we got some appetizers and main courses that we could have really gotten at any restaurant so nothing that really set them apart ... this could be a gold mine if the menu was top notch. If you are looking for some pub grub and aren't looking for top shelf stuff, then this place is for you. Muddy Moose is another well known restaurant in the North Conway area. We decided to stop in for lunch. They designed it to look like a cabin. They had a large menu and so many food items to choose from. The service was good and it seemed pretty kid friendly. I started off with a drink that was like a mudslide which was good. For my meal, I had a rack of ribs and mashed potatoes; the ribs were tender and hearty. My family also enjoyed their meals. If you're in the area, definitely worth a stop. read more

Stopped here because of the logo and other reviews of the restaurant. Love the cabin/nature decor displayed throughout the place. The restaurant was packed during the week for dinner. Seemed like a very kid oriented place. Couldn't help the feeling that the restaurant felt like a chain food spot, even though it's not. Ordered the Slopeside Nachos app and Smokey Burger. Love the names of the entrees btw. The food was good but nothing to rave for. Definitely check out if you have kids on the trip. read more

My husband's favorites place to eat when we are in North Conway! The decor is fun and woodsy. This place was really busy on a Friday afternoon. We got one of the last tables near the bar. The bartender was our server. He was a friendly guy. The food was decent. My BBQ chicken sandwich was good, except the bread to chicken ration was skewed. The bacon was crispy and the chicken was good, but the bun was very thick. My husband had asked for no onions on his sandwich but got them anyway. We had to flag down someone to get us ketchup. Omg! I have been going to North Conway for years and never heard of this place. They opened in 1999. Need I say more? This is the epitome of eating at a restaurant up North! The entire restaurant is light wood. The chairs were handmade (I think). Just wanted a quick bite and a drink. We sat at the bar. So clean! As of late, I have become a huge Bar Rescue fan. I watched the bartenders making the drinks...spot on! Looked like the biggest drink was the mudslide that was ordered by most. My honey and me split the Rueben with the horseradish on the side & fries. DELICIOUS!!! The corned beef was so tender. I was enjoying just looking around at the beauty of this place. There is outside dining. There are high top tables by the bar. Booths and table seating. The staff looked genuinely happy to work there. There is plenty of parking including handicap. Very disappointed. The food did not taste fresh, and one member of our party commented that it seemed like it had been sitting out. Later that night he became quite ill and was up all night in the bathroom. While we can't prove the restaurant was the cause, the experience was enough that we won't be returning. read more

Stopped in because it was recommended by a friend while we were visiting North Conway and it did not disappoint! The wait was a little bit which was expected on a Thursday night. The staff was great attentive even though it was busy and very helpful with suggestions. The food was amazing. I got the timber grilled salmon and it was cooked perfectly and the mango salsa was a perfect addition, we also got the king Neptune fish which was amazing! Defiantly something we would think we would find from an Italian restaurant. The kids chicken fingers and fries were great! Defiantly a place to stop by if you are in the area. This is a fun place for lunch or dinner (we went twice in the week). They have a great menu and the food was tasty during both our visits. The pulled pork nachos were my favorite. It's a good portion and we didn't finish it. The servers were nice and are good to kids (sadly cannot say this for all the places around the area) The food and drinks were fairly priced. Good with a group but it gets busy and you will definitely wait if you go during prime time. Sadly I didn't think to take pictures. read more

Cute restaurant with lovely staff and good food. We sat outside on the patio overlooking some very green trees. I had the fish and chips which was good. The fish was cooked perfectly, very moist and tender. Tartar sauce was delicious. Coleslaw was far too peppery and definitely a miss for me. Fries were just ok. I wish they had been more rustic, like hand cut french fries. I think these fries are frozen. Ranch dressing was on point though. Food came out quick and everything tasted nice, no complaints from the children! Grilled cheese was beautifully golden and crispy, I had a few stolen bites and they did not disappoint. While looking for restaurants in this area, Muddy Moose stuck out to me. My mother and I arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night and the place was packed! We were told a 30 minute wait but ended up being less than 20. Tons of seating here. I wasn't too hungry, so opted for the Greek salad. My mother ordered grilled chicken and a baked potato. The grilled chicken was tough and cold. The baked potato was cold. The only vegetable they offered as a side wasn't even a vegetable. Food was just OK. Same for the service. Astoundingly poor customer service! My 3 buddies and I were looking for a sports bar to watch the Pats game in North Conway, but found our options limited. The Muddy Moose, a family fun spot, had a couple of TVs at the bar, so we stopped in there asked to reserve a table and ordered some beers at the bar. We checked out the menus that were sitting on the bar and decided to order some appetizers. The female bartender said that we couldn't order food from the bar if we were waiting for a table and my buddy asked her why not. The male bartender immediately flew into a rage started cussing him out and yelling that he wasn't dealing with his crap. We were stunned that he jumped into such a rage over it. Most restaurants let you order food at the bar and putting menus down sends a bit of a mixed message. The bartender proceeded to take our order for some more beers and we figured ok the dude's just having a bad day. He then proceeded to throw the check down at my buddy and go and whine to the manager who asked us to leave. We won't be back and do not recommend that anyone give it a try. read more

When we took our kids 10 to 15 years ago after visiting the Muddy Moose, we enjoyed excellent food and a great owner who greeted everyone as they entered. Recently, we had the chance to attend Story Land's Nostalgia Night. We left around nine to have dinner, as the place closes at 10, expecting great food and service. To my surprise, it was far from what we had anticipated. When we asked the waitress if the owner was there, she said to hold on and returned shortly after. She informed us that the owner is new, having taken over in April. We were disappointed to hear this, but she assured us that the new owners are great and that the service is basically the same, if not better. We looked forward to our dinner. My wife ordered the Chicken buccaneer sandwich and requested the raspberry barbecue sauce that comes with it. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. When it arrived, my wife simply asked for a small extra raspberry sauce, but the waitress said we would have to pay $1.50 for that, as they charge for any extra sauce or salad dressing. We were dismayed, as the previous owner never charged us for. I asked because my ordered came with two sides: the Reuben, and I wanted to substitute a salad. She said, "Oh, you can't do that unless you want to pay an extra charge." The previous owner never enforced that, so right from the start, things changed at this place. The food wasn't great either; my sandwich was very greasy. I understand a Reuben can be a bit greasy, but this was excessively so. My wife's chicken was just okay--not great, as I mentioned. Charging extra for items that should come with the sandwich, like extra sauce or salad dressing, is ridiculous. This is not how to uphold the good reputation of Muddy Moose, which had been there for many years. We will never return; it's the little things that add up. Then to hear the waitress, tell us the reason why we don't give extra sauces people take it home and stock up we asked for a little thing to add to a sandwich unbelievable.!!! read more

This busy restaurant has a nice New Hampshire decor. I ordered a half rack of ribs, with fries, and carrots. The half rack was huge, and the ribs had plenty of meat on the bone. My wife ordered a Sassy Chicken Salad with greens, sweetened cranberries, pecans, goat cheese, and grilled chicken with balsamic vinaigrette. The food, and the service was excellent. We are brand new visitors to New Hampshire. The best thing about this place is the service and the ambiance. The staff were all so friendly and efficient. We were seated right away after being told that there was a 30 minute wait, because we agreed to an outside table in the cold night weather. As it stated getting dark, staff turned on the string lights giving it a cozy romantic feeling. The whole vibe is upbeat in a woodsy type of decor. The food was average to good.
