I expected a grooming place to be pricey. But it's a really good price. I have a 90lb pit bull. Ashley (I think) and Jessica handled him like a champ. PROFESSIONALS!!! It took two people to get him to be still. Also he kept wanting to sit and use dead weight. But they worked like pros and got the job done. I admit he isn't easy to handle and he did use a muzzle but it worked. Where some other places won't use it. I will be coming back. Please tip them in cash. They deserve every penny and more. I wanted to share our recent experience, so other pet owners are aware. We brought our dog in first thing in the morning for his second grooming appointment at Muddy Paws. When we arrived to pick him up, the staff let us know that our dog had gotten off leash and managed to get into their garbage, where he ate part of a chocolate croissant. They told us not to worry, that he'd be fine, and suggested giving him some pumpkin if his stomach got upset. Then, they mentioned the croissant was from the bakery across the street and something along the lines of them thinking there wasn't anything bad in it -- as if that somehow made the situation less concerning. While we understand accidents can happen, this was unsettling. Chocolate can be dangerous to dogs, and the fact that our pet was unsupervised long enough to rummage through the trash is disappointing. What stood out most was the lack of urgency or seriousness in how the situation was handled. All we got was a casual explanation and a strange comment about the quality of the pastry. We were expecting a higher level of attentiveness from a professional grooming service. This experience left us uneasy, and unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Been a customer for over 2 years. This place is inconsistent. Sometimes pet comes back with the perfect cut, bandana around the neck and smelling of blueberries. Other times our pet is still a little wet, no bandana and cut isn't the best. Livermore doesn't have a huge selection of groomers so it'll do. Amanda did a great job on my chihuahua! My dog struggles with allergies and dry skin but after receiving a hypoallergenic bath he hasn't been scratching or licking. Today I brought our 4 month old goldendoodle to Muddy Paws for his bath and grooming appointment and I am soo pleased with the care they took of my little baby! As much as you train him to be comfortable with grooming/groomers, you never really know how he'll do until they go in for their appointment. I was riddled with nerves for this appointment but the team at Muddy Paws were so kind and helpful throughout! Scheduling an appointment over email and the phone was very easy and they were able to accommodate a late reschedule for us. They talked me through everything they do during the visit and pricing. I expressed that I didn't want to cut his puppy coat yet and so they did a full bath and face trim, etc. grooming for him. I love that they catered to our needs. Dropping him off, he was so excited and jumpy that I was afraid he wouldn't do well, but when I got a call saying he was ready for pickup and that he did a wonderful job, I was so happy! They really took lots of time and care on him and he looks so handsome! They were even able to complete some of the difficult tasks like brushing his teeth and trimming his nails. First time I brought my dog here and didn't noticed until I arrived that it was like a grooming factory. So many dogs and groomers in one space! Multiple dogs barking, so it was loud and chaotic. Dogs had to wait in a crate with no cushions and not sure for how long. Called for pricing and they gave me a range from low to high, which I was fine with, but later picked up my dog and there was additional $10 charge just to clean her anal gland. Never mentioned there was additional charge when I asked to have it done. I have taken my dog to many groomers and I never had to pay extra for this. Picked up my dog and she was clinging to me like never before. Her grooming overall was ok and price was on the high side. Basically felt ripped off and unhappy with overall service. Surprised how busy this place gets for the kind of service they provide. Price was not the issue! Quality and service did not align with the price! Came to the dog park and our dog trainer recommended this spot. We got a walk in for a nail trim and only had to wait about 10-15 min. Ummm...the guy who did our dogs nails was a dog whisperer. My whole family has tried to trim our little ones nails and she is just not about it..so we take her in. Others have told us she gets anxious, but works through the nail t Rim. Buddy was groomed today at Muddy Paws. Attached is before and after photos of Buddy. At first I was very impressed when they quoted me two hours to get Buddy and then it ended up being four hours. I was super disappointed when I went to pick up Buddy after the two hours only to see him standing in the cage. Tell me up front you are short staff. It seems you would know that when I dropped him off. No phone call etc. buddy is 12 plus years old with arthritis, bad eye sight and high level of anxiety. I may have made other arrangements like Come back another day. At least let me make the decision for my dog. A phone call would have been appreciated before you decided to keep him two more hours. Be upfront and honest with customers or at least me please. I will say I am very pleased with the grooming. It might be the best grooming Buddy's ever had and we are going on 10 years as a family. Review of my experience... I called to see if muddy paws had availability for my fur baby. I was new to the area and looking to get my baby into a new groomer. My usual place was in my old neighborhood 30 miles away so I figured I'd look for a new groomer in our new hometown instead of making the trip every few weeks. Luckily, muddy paws had an opening. I was excited as I saw they had great Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, my fur baby's experience wasn't great. When I arrived to pick him up everything seemed to have gone smoothly. I paid and thanked them for my service and carried my baby to the car. I notice red spots on my shirt once I put him in the seat. I checked myself, maybe I had injured myself somehow...I look over to where he is sitting and his paw is bleeding. I quickly grab him and check his other areas, only his paw was bleeding. I walked back to let them know he was bleeding! The groomer just said, "oh sorry I didn't notice". Well, that's obvious! But how could you not? I understand accidents happen but not informing or taking care of my pet properly is a BIG issue for me. I was very disappointed and hurt. Was my fur baby in the crate with his injury the entire time?? Most people with pets treat them like family. Please be more diligent! **Update** The service date was June 25, 2022. I messaged the owner with my personal details (as requested) and will update my review with the resolution. I spoke with the owner via Yelp message and she went over the appointment details with me. She was kind enough to offer services to make up for the mistake and apologized. I'm happy this establishment took the time to look into the incident and issue an apology. read more

I brought my dog, Evie, in on 4/15/23 and her groomer was Jessica T. I have brought my dog in a few times before and havent really had any issues. They always said that Evie was such a good girl and behaved well. When i got the phone call that she was ready for pick up. The groomer calls me and says she's ready for pick up but she thinks that Evie "bite her tongue" because her tongue is bleeding but that the bleeding has stopped. Right away it was hard to believe because Evie has never bit her tongue to the point where she bleeds. When i get there to pick her up, her tongue is still bleeding! To where the groomer says "oh let me go get some more cotton balls" to stop the bleeding. By this point I'm getting more upset because I felt lied to. I didn't know what to really say at that point. When i get her to my car and really asses her tongue. I noticed it definitely looks more like a cut than a bite. I call them back and the groomer just keeps denying and she says she can have the manger look back at the video. I told her please have her do that. She says well the manger is on vacation right now(ofcourse). It's been a week. I've tried calling, texting and I even sent them a DM on Instagram and I've heard nothing back. I didn't want to write this review until I spoke to the manger but since I haven't heard anything back I just disputed the transaction. I will definitely not be bringing Evie back there every again. I just hope she's not traumatized to go to other groomers because I've always been told she a good girl. read more

Took our fur babies in to be groomed on Friday, 12-22-23. The ladies did an amazing job as always. They came out looking great. Our newest addition has even gotten comfortable with her groomer. (She can be a diva). Normally I would give 5 stars but, today 4 with a bit of disappointment. We went in to pick them up and the young woman at the counter was clearly not happy to be there. Young lady with braces, sorry I didn't see a name tag. Greeted her, she barely responded. I asked if the dogs did ok, maybe Shelby was a bit too much a Diva, she said they're fine. I said no bandanas for the holidays, she never responded. So disappointing for our holiday pictures this year. I asked how many groomers took care of the kids, wanted to tip them nicely for Christmas, grumbled out her and two others. Sorry, didn't catch their names either as she barely answered me. I added the tip to the card and asked that she split it amongst the three of them for me and thanked her again. She handed me the leash and the other two to my husband and walked away. She didn't offer a new appt or even a thank you for the tip. She clearly was not about holiday cheer or customer service. My sheepadoodle Winston keeps getting all-over matted and this is the second shave down he's required. I had no idea what I was doing wrong and felt awful that he is always uncomfortable. Stephanie is so friendly and patient. She educated me on how to prevent mats in the future - proper brushing and grooming. Winston got shaved but looks surprisingly fabulous! Especially compared to the frou frou expensive shop he went to last time. Stephanie even saved the hair to show me the undercoat, which was 100% mats. I had no idea. We live an hour away, but this place is so worth it. Excellent prices and great staff that compliment the dogs and treat them with love. I honestly cannot believe how good my dog looks - and he's so happy now. Thank you, Stephanie and staff. Great location in a nice strip mall with plenty other things to do!
