My pupper had an amazing time, she stayed overnight for 2 days. She got to play with other dogs during her stay once she passed the temperament test. She stayed Saturday Sunday and picked her up Monday. The only thing that I wish they allowed was pick-up on Sundays. They gave us photos on the first day however I found out if you wanted daily photos/updates, you would have to call in or request it. I took a tour of the facility prior and it looks well-maintained and big open space for your dog to be in when they are not playing outside. read more

We use the doggie day care for our Bailey. She starts to get excited when we pull in. They send a daily report card & photos. The facility is clean & friendly. We try to take her once or twice a month! It has done amazing things for her socially. Before going to the ranch she'd bark at other dogs outside, now she sniffs & says hello! read more

I've been using The Ranch Pet Resort & Spa for the last of our 6 stays and they have been absolutely fantastic! In the past, I've taken our cat to more local places in the Dublin and Pleasanton area (I live in Dublin) and they have had issues dealing with her since her behavior can be challenging. I highly recommend this place for your fur baby. This will be the second time we board our puppy Nala. We boarded her in June of 2025 for 10 days and she was well taken care of. This time around she will be there for 8 days and we are a little bummed out that because she's not spayed she can't participate in the all day play but it's understandable. It's always really stressful for me to travel because I have to find someone or some place to take care of my boys. I found this place after researching online and after reading reviews and looking at the facility, felt comfortable leaving my dogs there for 8 days while I was out of the country. It's was quite far from my house but I made the 1 hr drive to and from cause I trusted the facility. My dogs had boarding and all day play (I didn't want them cooped in a kennel all day long) plus the older one has a lot of medications which were all administered. All in all, they were well taken care of, they got to play and they seemed happy after coming home. I definitely recommend this place and will board my dogs here again. The only thing I can say was that I checked Instagram for the daily vids and pics to make sure my dogs were ok. I didn't see my older Frenchie much at all but did see my puppy. After picking up our dog from staying there for a week, he had lost about 10 lbs. They said that he didn't eat much, since we measured out all his food for 2 x per day for the number of days he was there, we expected to see leftover food but that wasn't the case. They threw it out if he didn't eat it, which is an expensive waste. Also, when we picked him up, they were bathing him, so we suspect he was so filthy that they were embarrassed to send him home. I took my large Doberman yesterday for a grooming session. She has seasonal allergies and her coat becomes very dry and flaky this time of the year. They gave her a hypoallergenic bath and she smells amazing and looks very shiny. I also had her nails trimmed and they did a great job. This is a review for the customer service only, we didn't get to stay. Spoke to a guy on the phone a few weeks ago who told me there was a good chance we could get in for Christmas boarding by putting our names on the waitlist and coming in today. After driving an hour to get here, was told by a different person at the front desk that this was absolutely incorrect and there was little to no chance we would get in for Christmas by being on the waitlist. I could not be more grateful to The Ranch Pet Resort & Spa for taking care of my 3 pitties, Koa, Kapo & Kage! This was my first time ever boarding my dogs. I was boarding them for 9 nights and I had a lot of anxiety about it. My oldest, Koa, is a rescue with allergies and a skin condition; youngest, Kage, is selective, reactive, and VERY vocal; and my middle child, Kapo, loves attention. I had a long conversation with The Ranch staff prior to dropping them off, which help set my mind at ease a bit! But when dropping my 3 off, I was able to tell immediately I made the right choice with the way they handled my kids (as well, as handling me and my crying leaving them). The staff is AMAZING! I called for updates and was told that my young one warmed up to the staff and all three enjoyed their time with the handlers playing fetch. They also posted pics of my pitties on their social media and I was able to see they were happy and doing great! And we were able to get them a condo (size of 2 kennels) so they were able to room and sleep together. I couldn't be happier with my experience with The Ranch Pet Resort & Spa! The only DOG WATER PARK in the Tri-Valley area. Conveniently located only 15 minutes from town. Dusty was excited to get there literally dragging me in. Services, prices & flexible options excellent. Good grooming experience, but it was four hours, not the two hours I was told at check in.

I can't recommend The Ranch enough. I would not trust my pets anywhere else. I have two cats, 14yo and 2yo. I'm very particular about their care and had an awful experience at a local boarder a few years ago that made me nervous about leaving them anywhere again. I have been to The Ranch at least half a dozen times now and the staff always puts me at ease. They are friendly, professional, and seem to truly care for animals. My cats come home clean, calm, and it's clear their eating and exercise have been maintained. My 2yo cat can be difficult (to put it mildly) and I'm thankful for the staff's continued patience and empathy. Knowing my pets are in good hands provides priceless peace of mind while I'm traveling. read more

First of all let's get to it, 5 stars for sure based on customer service and care for the animals. I have a Doberman, not neutered, 4 years old, energetic but well behaved. The Dog being a Doberman and not neutered is a stereotype it self with a majority of other kennels denying him boarding. The Ranch Pet Resort & Spa Staff accommodates the energy, versus working against it, and criticizing it. Most of the time have availability, and the facilities are phenomenal. If I could give them zero stars I would. I have two doodle dogs, the oldest who has been getting groomed at The Ranch Pet Resort for over 2 years now. Not only has the ranch gotten our business for Grooming but we've also had our dogs boarded there several times. Although it can be pricey, I was willing to pay since it seemed like my dogs liked it there. My dogs usually get groomed only about 5-6 times a year so when they do, we really look forward to it. I schedule their grooming appointments multiple months in advance to make sure they get on the books since the availability for grooming is extremely limited. This past year, their grooming appointments have been canceled the DAY BEFORE, on THREE separate appointments dude to the groomer "being out sick". I work in healthcare and I understand the occasional sickness but for three out of five of the appointments to get canceled the last minute due to being sick....cmon. When they eventually call back to reschedule", they don't attempt to squeeze them in soon, instead they'll book the next available appointment which is usually months away. This is the most unprofessional business I've ever experienced and quite frankly not worth the money they charge. I'd advise anyone even considering going to The Ranch Pet Resort to FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE for your beloved pup. Side note, if you leave your dog to get groomed there, they won't take your dog out to the bathroom even once. Even if your dog is a puppy. read more

I have been taking my pets here for 20 years, and although they were great before, the new "spa" is lovely. The people are wonderful and very caring and accommodating. My rescue is very attached to me and anxious, but she always leaves there happy. A little pricey but well worth it! Michael is very kind and reassurring. Callie was the ring bearer for our wedding ceremony and The Ranch allowed us to pick Callie up in the afternoon for her special duties and return her before they closed. The facility is very clean and the front desk folks made me feel assured she will be in good hands. You could tell the front desk people love dogs and they made us feel at home. The Ranch is very clean and the whole look and feel of the resort is really like a spa for dogs. It's a clean facility with lots of play space, comfortable boarding with kennels that have an indoor and outdoor component and very friendly staff. They also separate the dogs into small and large size so our puppy was happy since he has a little anxiety around larger dogs. This was the first time I left my 3 year old shih Tzu who is an emotional support dog for my autistic son at this place , they made me wait a good 40 minutes to bring my dog out saying that they can't put a leash on him , then they come back after 15 mins saying he needs to be washed because he expressed his glands ... that took a whole 40 mins ...now my dog is the most calm lil dog you'll ever meet and one of the girls said he was crazy and fiesty ... we usually go to tassajara kennel who not only love my dog and he's usually given the puppy room as he's so calm and doesn't bark ...they were booked up so I decided to try out this place since we do live in Livermore. After 40 mins it seemed like he was hosed down and quickly rough dried and handed to me , he was frightened and honestly looked abused like he hadn't eaten for the days I left him there , as soon as we got home he drank so much water , he seemed so thirsty like he wasn't given any water. I'm disheartened and so disappointed that I had to leave my poor baby here... I hate writing bad reviews for local businesses but I'm really upset as how my baby was treated here and how they had no concern for my time either when they made me wait for 40 minutes. I have utilized their boarding and grooming services in the past. But I had an experience this morning that has turned me off completely. I made an appointment for grooming for my dog. The person making the appointment gave me the time for 11 am to come in on account of the fact that I can't do an early drop at 9 AM before work since they can't keep him until his appt without charging me extra. She did a whole song and dance about how there is little space in the grooming area and so they must charge me extra. I agreed to come in at a later time closer to the appointment time. When I made it in today at 9:55 AM, which in my opinion was early, the lady at the front desk told me that my appointment was at 9 AM and it has been cancelled because appointments are cancelled if the person is over an hour late. I pointed out that my appointment is at 11 AM and even if it was at 9 am, I am still within the hour threshold where the appointment should not be cancelled. Upon realizing that she didn't bother looking at the clock before saying an hour, she proceeded to tell me that the appointments get cancelled 45 mins after the time of the appointment. Then she went into check with the scheduling manager and in the meanwhile another lady, probably the groomer, came out, with her arms flailing about, all worked up, saying that they will deign to accept my dog for a simple bath and de-shed even though I was late. She didn't even have the decency to come and address me or talk to me. I am not sure who she was talking to but the energy of the place was so hostile that by that time, I was plain disgusted with the lack of customer care or any understanding or even basic politeness, I have decided to never go back, even though I have utilized their services before without complaints in the past. My suggestion, get your grooming done elsewhere. They obviously don't know how to keep their appointments straight or accommodate the customer without lying to their faces on when these appointments are cancelled by them due to no-show or late arrivals. They used to be THE doggy daycare, the one I would highly recommend to everyone. Now, I feel like the customer service and resort overall isn't the same high quality, accommodating business that it once was. The phones are never answered, the response time to texts for daycare requests is majorly delayed and unless you make a reservation 3-4 days in advance you won't get in. I understand that there is only so much space but with being one of the more expensive daycares in Livermore I really feel like they need to come up with a different system to accommodate working people and short notice requests. read more

This review is based on the tour of facilities, experience in the office, and the professionalism of the staff: (1) Public Health Negligence: Enclosed office has five or six employees, all of whom are wearing their masks around their chins, below their noses, or (as was the case with my consultant) putting it on and taking it off repeatedly. None of the people checking in had their masks on, nor were they asked to put one on by the employees. (2) Kennel Quality: Sleeping spaces had a long run, which was nice, but otherwise were concrete with a kind of trampoline bed, chain link fence, and non-stop barking. Kennels were not places that a dog used to comfort would tolerate. (3) Transparency: I asked for a comparison of two ten-day stays for two dogs: (A) 5-days of training and boarding + 5 days of boarding with all-day play time and grooming on the last day versus (B)10 days of training and boarding with playtime. The training on its own was by far the most expensive option, so mixing it with a cheaper package would bring the cost down. The clerk said she would go talk to her manager. When she returned, she announced that it would actually "be more" to mix and match. This made no sense, and I asked her to crunch the numbers. It turned out that the mixed option (A) would cost $2,249 for 10 days versus (B) 2,990 for 10 days of training--a *mere* $741 difference. Well, the clerk then backpedaled and said, "What I meant was you get more value for the ten days of training." The outdoor facilities looked well-maintained and attractive, although I only saw astroturf (maybe the natural grass was elsewhere). read more
