Seems Mueller could do better than this small muddy area. It is fenced and that's about the best I can say.

I'm not sure why it doesn't show up on any maps or Google searches, but dog owners I've met there say they've been coming for years! There are two benches, a picnic table, and a trash can in the concrete area. There are a bunch of large, shady trees surrounded by mulch as well as grassy areas, especially up the somewhat steep hill and over to the right side of the park. There's a little fenced off nook in part of the park where little dogs could presumably play if someone took a weed eater to it, but I'm told the area is actually fenced off because it floods with brackish water when it rains. There's a poop bag dispensing station near the entrance of the park, but apparently there are never bags in it. I only gave the park four stars, because the lowest part of the park floods with even the slightest bit of rain (by design), though I haven't seen that for myself yet. Also, there's one part of the fence on the far right hand side of the park that's broken, but there's a big rock keeping it in place until the city comes to fix it.

They said I needed to pay the $25 and then start the membership next time for $50. Not a great policy. The rules say you shouldnt bring your own food or beverages, but inside there's just a self-serve pod coffee machine and some bubbly waters. Loved the shade, turf, fans, attendants. Didnt try the wifi. So close to being awesome, but not there yet.

I paid $40 a month and was happy with the environment. I must admit on a surface level, this is the best dog park in Austin. Amenities include a completely astroturfed playground, large flatscreen TVs, and fans for each of the guests. Caution, the glamour hides ugly business practices. Come to find out, the women employees get paid less than the male employees. The owner consistently disrespects his employees by yelling at them. I've seen employees cry because of the way he treats them. My experience: Many dog parents throw birthday celebrations for their pet. We're all responsible and we clean up after ourselves. They're peaceful celebrations. I had the decency to ask for permission to throw my dog a birthday party. They told me they were going to charge me a $500 fee even though I wasn't asking for anything beyond permission. I purchased gifts to give out for all attendees. my generosity was met with malice. Mid-celebration the owner texted me a long, unfriendly message telling me to FaceTime them. My membership was then suspended, but I guess they decided to revoke it without communication. They continued to charge me for the membership, even though I no longer had access. They chose to lose my business of over one year, which amounts to almost $500, over a dog's birthday party, generous of all guests. Choose wisely where you spend your dollars. A membership here supports unethical practices.

Stretching along Shoal Creek, the park offers a mix of shaded walking and biking trails, open lawns, and beautifully restored natural areas. It is hard to believe when you are in the park that you are in the heart of central Austin. The park is especially family friendly, with a large playground, splash pad, treehouse style observation area, and plenty of seating. While we were at the park a school was hosting a picnic for its students. The northern portion of the park is even more quiet and scenic, with winding trails, limestone bluffs, and creek views. It's a great area for dog walks, leisurely strolls, picnics, workouts, or just relaxing under the trees. The park is well maintained and welcoming to all ages. This park is very special.

The stream nearby adds a peaceful touch, and the overall design of the park feels really intentional and creative. Kids will go crazy for the massive playground and all the interactive installations. The hanging net sphere is a must, you can lie inside and bounce around, and honestly the adults were just as into it as the little ones. There are also food vendors including ice cream, so you can easily spend a whole afternoon here. One of the most well-done parks I've been to. Highly recommend.

The soft gravel surface is good. The swimming pool is excellent! The basketball and tennis courts are terrific! Shipe is a great park to enjoy with your family. Very convenient street parking. Well...what child wants to go to the same park over and over, play on the same old equipment and not grow tiresome? Definitely not my children, so when we arrived at an appointment in the area a tad early, we decided to stop by Shipe Park. Now let me start by saying this place ROCKS! This place is one of the few Austin-area parks that have a shaded playground and as all Texan's know it's hotter than hell during the summer, shade is a huge-huge-huge bonus for the kiddos. We'll be visiting again, why you might ask? *Amenities- SHADED (by trees) PLAYGROUND, duh; the swimming pool(s) - 1ft pool separated from the larger pool with lifeguards on duty; basketball courts - not overtaken 24/7, you can actually shoot around; tennis courts--what's a park without them; and a huge field for running around free or tossing around a football with the nuggets. *Events- upcoming Movies in the Park and a pool party, major win! [Btw- there might be a summer camp that takes place at this park, there was a few (young) kids running wild on the playground, tossing their (wasted, yes because they had like 4 each) milk cartons all over the playground, screaming so loudly my two year old wanted to ditch playing and go because the kids were as he said, 'crazy,' ha. I did not see an adult within eye-sight so I don't know if they are free to roam?]
