the owner is an angry man. he lies like you never know there was a truth. a Mecanic shop that you suppose to trust charged me 30$ for oil change of 2024 Toyota and few days later the engine light came up and we found out the oil was empty and was no leak. he is the most dishonest Mecanic I ever deal with. they charge 30$ while I use to pay 85$. so you go figure what they do. never trust them read more

I went to Muffler Man located in Deland, FL recently because my car brakes were squeaking. I previously had been to their other location, in New Smyrna Beach, FL and paid mechanic Devon there $90 to clean and lube the brakes, but the squeakiness continued, so I went to their Deland location, where the owner works, whose name is Louie, who is grandfather to Devon. I complained that the brakes were still squeaking and I brought new brake pads in case they were needed, not expecting anyone to put them on for free but bringing them if they were needed. I commented that I thought Devon pulled the covering under the hood which encloses the "foam", and Muffler Man owner Louie (in Deland) heard this and became hostile, argumentative and over-the-top disrespectful to me, telling me that Devon (his grandson) is certified but telling me that he is not, and then he ranted and raved that he doesn't have to be because he has experience. The wheels were taken off my car and I heard owner Louie tell his mechanic how to take the brake pads off, which I thought was strange. I was wondering if his mechanic was qualified and ever changed brakes, that owner gave him instructions how to do this. But, then owner Louie took over and did work on my car (the person who was hostile to me) and I wasn't sure what he was doing, but I regretted not taking my car and leaving because owner was so hostile and disrespectful to me, although I didn't treat him this way. I worried and wondered if he was sabotaging my car from his terrible attitude to me. When car was brought out, owner Louie never talked to me nor told me what he did, other than to say "Now get out here!" treating me like I was trash, which was 100% inappropriate and unwarranted and even more troublesome to me, since he worked on my car. Because of this hostility and this bad experience, I went to a few other auto shops close by and told them of this bad experience, and of Muffler Man's hostility to me, wondering if the owner sabotaged my car and wanting a mechanic to pull the brakes and see what Muffler Man owner Louie did, who treated me with total hostility and disrespect! One mechanic (at another shop) looked at the brake pads and told me that too much grease/lube was put on and told me it was dangerous, and he sprayed something on it to try to dry the grease off. I wasn't surprised and I regretted ever going to Muffler Man. This is a family run business with two locations, one in Deland, FL and the other in New Smyrna Beach and I wouldn't recommend either place. If you return with a complaint, I believe they won't respond appropriately but may do something wrong or inappropriate to your car, and if you return to the owner, Louie, who is the mechanic at the Deland, FL location, he'll disrespect you and show hostility to you. I made a BBB complaint about this, and Muffler Man owner Louie totally lied in his response, saying that he was certified (although he told me he was not) and he dishonestly said in the BBB response that he told me to have a nice day when work was finished, although HE DID NOT. To the contrary, he treated me like trash and ordered me off his lot. This was a terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend Muffler Man at all. read more

Customer service is sub par. I guess they don't believe in repeat customers. Actually I always bring my exhaust work to them for years, never had an issue. The one time I had a little issue, they wouldn't take care of it or proceeded to charge me again to fix it. I hate writing negative reviews, so this bothers me. Mark and his team @ Muffler Man DeLand were exceptional in how they handled my repairs. Provided great communication and even told me why I needed the repairs! Just had a leak in my exhaust manifold fixed at Muffler Man. Very pleased and at a very reasonable price. Fast and efficient. The Dodge stealership in DeLand was charging me more for the parts alone than what Muffler Man charged me for the entire job. Bottom line is go to Muffler Man. read more

My son bought breaks to replace his and then found the bolt was partially striped, so he took his car in to muffler man to have them installed. They discovered in addition to the breaks he had a roter that needed replacing. They explained what needed to be done and also showed him the grooves in roter. The other roter was in good condition and I was impressed they didn't try to sell him both. They were honest and reasonable and I will definitely give them my repeat business. read more

I went there yesterday for some exhaust work on my truck. They replaced the exhaust system quickly and at a very fair price. I was so impressed with the service that I took my car in today for a brake inspection. They found that I only needed the front pads replaced and did the job quickly at the cheapest price I have seen anywhere. I highly recommend Muffler Man for any exhaust or brake repairs. read more
