Izzy is wonderful...she was personable, attentive and gracious! The food and kitchen are AWEFUL! We ordered our burgers medium and Izzy confirmed after taking our order (premium, not happy hour burgers). They came out as HOCKEY PUCKS...burnt and tough...bread MUCH THICKER and not toasted..doughy. We could hear the kitchen staff cutting up, laughing. Most likely why our burgers were basically inedible. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this location! read more

I ordered off Uber Eats for me to pick it up. Showed up wasn't ready. I waited for 35 mins for my food. They were closing at 10 and I placed my order at 9:10 pm. The food was burnt and the meat was inedible. They were so worried about closing they forgot to make my food. Staff wasn't friendly and felt like I was bothering by coming in 45 mins before closing. Will never eat here again and apparently according to concierge at my hotel next door this is a norm for them. read more

I walked into this restaurant today and decided to try it out. The decor was appropriate for an upscale bar and grill. I was seated, gave my order and received it relatively quickly. My server (Meshia) was personable, courteous and conscientious. Her smile was contagious which let me know I was in a good place. I know my server had other customers because I saw them. But Meshia made me feel like I was the only customer in Mugshots. Once I took a bite of my sandwich, I knew I was in the right place. My tastebuds were singing as every bite offered the "Hallelujah" chorus. If you're ever in Downtown Birmingham, stop by Mugshots. Your tastebuds will thank you. I've been sleeping on Mugshots! I used to come a lot as a teen but not really as an adult...that's changing. I signed up for their birthday club and got a free b'day meal so my mom and I went and had lunch. It was mid day and not too packed so we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was so sweet and super informative. I choose the parm garlic bacon burger and man, was I impressed. Some burgers lose me with the bun, but this one was soft and perfectly sized so toppings weren't spilling out. Everything was hot and the pickles were crispy, it was truly an indulgent b'day meal. Don't know how or why this restaurant has a low ratings since everything was fantastic. Me and my boyfriend got here early since we had to catch a wrestling event later on that night. The host put us down on the waitlist and what I like about is we gave her a number and we were able to keep track of many people were ahead of us. We actually were there during happy hour so I ordered us some fried pickles which was only $3 dollars. Those pickles were delicious and you get plenty. I ended up ordering a Texas Burger and my boyfriend had the Breakfast Burger which he added an extra patty. I forgot how huge Mugshots burgers were and I had to make myself finish it. We really wanted to like this place because we stay near it all the time. Unfortunately we were let down by a few things. The food took 50 mins to arrive at our table and when it got there a good portion of it was nearly inedible. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with a side of grilled vegetables. The fish was blackened, but it was dry and chewy with a bad taste to it. The vegetables were greasy and burnt. And the whole plate was soaked in grease with greasy finger prints on it. My coworker had the burger and it was burnt and over cooked. She was so hungry she ate it anyways. Unfortunately I don't think we will be returning, but we'll keep an eye on the reviews for an improvement and would love to give it a second chance down the road. read more

I asked the bartender and they explained that is a skinny marg. * Ordered Cesar salad, nope, discontinued * Ordered side of veggies * Ordered Entre with veggies, nope out, so that cancelled the previous side order too * I Ordered Tequila Soda Lime, no lime * Food arrived, asked for silverware and napkins * Ate my Mahi Mahi with my fingers since it had been so long (so gross yes, had to happen so we could leave) *Informed that they were out of clean silverware, brought one plastic fork, one plastic spoon for. 4 people, my son got it since he had mac n cheese and needed it most. * The my wife got her Margarita after we were done and got the hell out of that place, went next door and ordered pizza. Everyone in the tables next to us was upset as well and we all commiserated. My takeaway is this is very poorly managed and I feel so bad for those working hard to make it happen and are destined for failure and most people are not as nice as us. read more

I love mugshots. This was my first time coming to this location. I ate at the bar. Nathan the bartender was great, and he makes a good old fashion and provided some good recommendations about the menu. I ended up getting the Philly cheesesteak and adding queso it was delicious. I didn't have to wait long for my food at all. This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner whether solo or with friends. The location had several seating options so you could sit near the bar or on the other side in provided booths and chairs. read more

The food is what you'd expect at a bar/grill. I'm sure the atmosphere is great when it's not cold outside. The service was horrible. After the server assigned to me walked past me several times without even acknowledging I was there, It took almost 10 minutes after I sat down for another person to tell me that he was very busy (there were fewer than 6 tables with people in the restaurant) and to take my drink order...only to be told she would let him know. After apologizing for neglecting me, my order was taken, and my drink and food were delivered quickly. It was another 15 minutes after completing my meal before the server checked on me again and, once again, apologized for neglecting me. As a frequent traveler to Birmingham, I can definitely say that I will not be returning to Mugshots and will recommend to my coworkers to avoid this bar / grill. read more

Had a Cajun Chicken salad sitting in the patio. Calling that chicken 'Cajun' might be an offence in Louisiana. Dry and tasteless. Lots of questionable bits of lettuce and brown bits of avocado in the guacamole. Allegedly has pico in there? Didn't see it. Service was just adequate. read more

Food was VERY underwhelming. The burgers were clearly just frozen, unseasoned pucks of beef. Our server was nice enough, but blatantly lied to my face. I ordered the patty melt and fries. She gave the booth next to me MY order and quickly realized she had messed up. That customer had apparently touched the food and she said she messed up and would get my burger made again..... About 20 SECONDS later, my NEW patty melt was just magically ready... It clearly wasn't remade. I got robbed of $22 after tip for some straight garbage. I waited 10 minutes just to have my to-go order taken; for someone on a lunch break this is a long time because I still have to wait for the food to be made and try to eat in as fast as I can to make it back to work. Uptown Location - We've been coming here since the place opened. In fact we are UAB football season ticket holders, and we have made it routine to have a burger before every home game. This last time was horrible. We were there on a weeknight, so not many people were being served. We arrived a little after 8 pm and ordered our food. Our food arrived a little before 9 pm. While we waited for our food, we were treated to the smell of bleach since someone decided to mop the floor next to us. When the food arrived, it wasn't correct...which is hard to understand since we didn't make any special requests. The food was cold too. The cheese on my cheeseburger wasn't melted.
