I visited with family and played a single Spanish song on the TouchTunes jukebox. Shortly after, the bartender told us if we wanted to hear Mexican music, we should go to a Mexican bar. Apparently, the owner David said this is a "white man's bar" built for white people. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or targeted for their culture/race. The locals seemed enthusiastic about this spot, so we took their recommendation and went. It is not the cleanest, nor does it seem the friendliest upon entry. The drinks and food are on the cheaper side, which was nice. But there is no such thing as Southern hospitality when you walk through those doors. Though my friends and I were able to get seated and get comfortable, there was an extreme turn of events shortly after being there. There was an altercation involving a bartender, the manager, and a customer. I watched a young black male patron get confronted by the manager and from my point of view, it seemed that the customer was trying to de-escalate the situation and explain what was happening. The manager seemed to have no patience for this and started physically assaulting the customer - hiting him in the head, shoving him, etc. I don't know if the manager had friends there or security personnel, but the customer ended up being harassed and assaulted by several other people in the bar. They could have easily let him get his drink and possibly escorted him to another section where he could have been away from the scene or simply refunded his money and asked him to leave. Honestly, from the times I've visited the South, I've never encountered such a disgusting and disturbing interaction. Nor do I think I've ever witnessed something so vile and cruel at an establishment, especially when it was escalated by the staff. I will not be returning, and I would be very wary if you decide to visit this establishment.
