Now the restaurant service left much to be desired. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but scarce. After at least 15 minutes she finally approached the table saying she thought we wanted to catch up. How nice. But we are here to eat lunch. Here's a tip. If I say please give us some time to chat then come back in 15 minutes, THEN do that. My eggs and grits bowl was good and the turkey sausage patties were inedible. Also for some reason they always serve a mix of sweet and white potatoes. I do not eat sweet potatoes ever. Dana I beg you stop putting them in everything from soup to entrees. The salad bowl is an odd shape and difficult to manage. No place to set a utensil on the lip. The vibe is industrial cool and very spacious. More attentive service and some food changes would be better.

Before lunch I went over to the bakery store side. I walked away with two cookies and 6 cupcakes…read more The cupcakes were not the best. My vanilla cupcake was hard, and the icing for all were not too sweet. I prefer sweet icing. These were more of a whipped icing. But, that's just preference. Each cupcake was $4.50, which I think was spot on. They were bigger in size. I don't think I'll be getting anything else from the bakery at this time. There are so many cute, fun items in the store. I plan to stop back to get a few things I saw. Once I was done at the bakery store side I headed over for lunch. I was seated at a booth, chair combo seating. The booth was really comfortable. Our waiter was really good. He was attentive made sure our drinks were filled. He answered any questions we had. My starter was the Chesapeake Bay crab dip. That dip was one of the best I have had! Melty cheese, with wonderful flavor! It came out piping hot a d was paired with crispy yet soft pita rounds. I opted for the BBQ Brisket on a sweet potato bun. The bun was really delicious. I was happy the waiter informed me that this was not a hand held sandwich, but more of a fork and knife kind of dish. My side was a salad. The lemon dressing was amazing. My friend also had the same dressing and she raved about it as well. Over I'd like to return and try out more dishes and maybe some of their breakfast items I've heard good things about the Brunswick stew as well . The location is in Phebus and I think it is a really great area to be at .

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

A Hidden Gem in Hampton - Mill Creek Tavern Delivers Every Time!…read more Mill Creek Tavern is one of those amazing local spots that makes you feel like you're in on a best-kept secret. No frills, no fluff -- just great food, cold beer, and genuinely friendly service. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with one pool table, a few big TVs for the game, and a small bar top that gives it that classic neighborhood feel. On our most recent visit, my friend and I both went with the special: country fried steak with okra and lima beans -- absolutely delicious. You can mix and match sides, and my friend's pasta salad was clearly homemade, perfectly balanced and not drowning in mayo. The beer was ice cold, and the food came out fast. Service was excellent -- friendly, efficient, and we had multiple check-ins throughout the meal without ever feeling rushed. Their burger menu is another highlight (I've had a few over the years -- always solid), and the back patio is a great touch. Covered seating with umbrellas makes it easy to enjoy rain or shine. Parking is a bit limited, but there's usually space around back near the patio if you loop around the building. Sure, walking in might feel a little intimidating if you're not a regular -- it's a cozy, no-nonsense spot -- but inside, it's as friendly and down-to-earth as it gets. Don't miss out on this local treasure. Go once, and you'll see why so many keep coming back!

Several bar patrons besides also asked the lady or stated out loud where is the halftime show? She stated she didn't want anything to be political and wanted music but switched to a channel where some anchor is talking about a Twitter post some politician made whilst muting the other stream. Going right to the channel she wanted to watch and cranking up the volume up on it. when asked about it directly she replied if you don't like it you can turn the other way and not watch it. She kept repeating I just want to watch and listen to music, while I'm asking her why the commercials of the super bowl are muted? And we are are watching some suit and tie talk politics. She then said they way I see it we are "all American" , okay? No one was challenging that or anything ..kind of ironic that's the name of the show she put on "to not be political" Please know this is a real, I couldn't fathom in my mind someone being this insensitive and dull when people are actively asking and complaining

Let me tell you they have some mocktails on the menu. I absolutely love that! I've been saying we have a string market for mocktails. But, the Petron flight is so aesthetically pleasing. I Next we ordered our food. Buttermilk biscuits with an apple compote paired with a streusel topping. You can have the biscuit just the way it is, or put the apple compote on top, and finish it off with the streusel topping and it really is a great mesh of all flavors! The fried green tomatoes were my favorite! You have to put all the ingredients together... the salad, the sauce and the tomato. There was so much flavor! The berry french toast was my favorite sweet treat of all the things I tried. The gumbo was packed full of shrimp, meat, okra and more. The temperature was cool not as hot as I would have liked. But, that's nothing hard. The place does not lack flavor one bit. Our waitress Shana handled our table of 8 with ease. She was on it. There were other food runners helping out as well. Everyone was great! Making a reservation was easy. They were able to accommodate our party The portion sizes meet the price. To some pricing maybe a little much to some, but if you sit back and see what you get both portion and flavor it all adds up. Parking is a large lot shared with various businesses. Overall this was a pretty good spot to come to.

Another Yelp Reviewer's suggestion for the win!…read more I happened to be in the area today, and after my first stops, I needed something to eat. Again, thanks to other Yelpers, I found this place. I'm so glad we found it. This place does have a small private parking lot, which is a good thing for the area. The interior was nice, large, and seemed very clean. Plenty of seats inside and a few tables outside. The fella who served us was very nice, pleasant, and took care of us. Now let's get to our meals: Holy mud were they good. The wifey had The Jim Boy. Which is a couple of eggs, a couple of sides, potatoes, and toast. She tells me the whole meal was very good with the potatoes being the flavorful standout. As for me, I had The Lumberjack. Wow was it good. It was smashbrowns topped with 3 eggs your way, fried chicken breast, sausage gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. Their website pictures were different from how it was presented to me today (not that it means a thing). Again what a wonderful flavor. The biscuits were great and the sausage gravy was fantastic! I will say this it is a very filling meal - you will not be hungry after eating this. So with all this said, I highly recommend this place and I'm sure I will be back. I might even try to hit it for lunch next time. So if you're looking for a place - go ahead and enjoy this place.

I got a chocolate frosted and hollandaise creme to take home and I will definitely have doughnuts from here again.
