I attended two separate glass classes and found them not just enjoyable; but the shop itself was filled with a variety of items. The gals who work there are very friendly and quick to help. While the prices are a bit higher than a box store, the reality is, you are buying more local items and supporting a small business. I recommend their classes along with just visiting the shop! The market itself is a cute little spot but this review is strictly about their Mosaic Ornament Workshop/policy. On the day of the class we experienced a power outage that lasted about 4-5 hrs and my kids' school was canceled as well. I called the market a little over an hour before the workshop started to see if I could switch to another date or possibly receive a refund due to the circumstances. I was told that they don't allow cancellations or changes unless you give three days' notice, because they had already paid the instructors and didn't have anyone to fill my spot. I asked if that policy would still apply in extreme situations... like a blizzard or severe weather advisory, which we were actually under at the time and was told yes, the policy would still stand. It was frustrating to hear that there was no flexibility at all, esp given the circumstances. Paying $65 (w tax $70) and not being offered the option to reschedule or receive any accommodation felt really unfortunate. Customer service and a little compassion could go a long way here. read more

I had been getting targeted ads for months for Mulberry Market's workshops and figured it was time to round up a few friends and try one. We wanted to do the fall floral pumpkin workshop, but it was already sold out. We ended up attending a fall candle workshop instead. I thought it might be kind of boring, but it ended up being a lot of fun. We each made three small candles and the workshop was kid friendly so when one of my friend's sitter fell through, she was able to bring her son. While waiting for our candles to cool we were able to visit the shop, enjoy some charcuterie, and chat with other attendees. There were some gals who attended alone, but I think it's more fun to be here with a friend or two. We did try to bring a couple of the solo crafters into our conversation, so maybe these workshops are good for making some friends too. Even if you just come by to shop at the store, Mulberry Market is worth the visit since you'll find cute décor and gifts for all the loved ones in your life. read more

I've never done a yelp review ever, this is my first. HORRID customer service, and reading others I'm feeling vindicated. I had signed up and paid for myself, a friend and my sister(from Seattle) to attend the soap making class on Feb. 23rd. ($225) My mother had just had knee replacement surgery, we were looking forward to a mini break from taking care of her. On that day the 23rd- my mother developed complications and needed to have testing to rule out a DVT. She did indeed have a DVT and cellulitis on her surgical leg. I called mulberry market and kept them informed, i doubted that we would make the class that evening. The woman on the phone was kind. My mother required readmission to the hospital. I called mulberry market several times over the course of as many days, only to be told someone would reach out. Finally, when I called on Thursday the 26th I unfortunately spoke with the rudest condensing woman. She repeatedly told me the policy, it's clearly stated on the website and if they refunded me they would have to refund others. I told her this was unavoidable and I would have much rather do the class than be at the hospital with my mother. She continued to be rude, not even offering a partial refund that I asked as a compromise. I've shopped there in the past, I've taken 3 classes before there, I'd like to support a local business, but not one that only values their $ and not relationships with the community they sit in. I'm not sure of this woman was the owner, manager or what- but clearly their website message is not something they truly value. They are a small business in a large community with a volital economy- one would think customer service and satisfaction would be a focus in order to keep the doors open. I won't be back- and I certainly won't recommend them to anyone I know. Shame on you all. read more

Such a cute shop full of unique home and gift items. They also have an entire kids section for the little ones in your life! I have driven past many times and regret not stopping in sooner. They have local homemade wares, super cute curated displays that make it easy to shop for what interests you. They even have a whole clearance room filled with items from past holiday and seasonal collections. This will be a fun store to take guests visiting Spokane or to shop for a special gift for someone. read more

Terrible customer service, I had signed up for a class but forgot about it. My friend texted the night of the class to ask if I was coming. I said I can't, I totally forgot I signed up for it. I had nothing in my email about it so it was out of site out of mind. They said could you come on a different day? I said,Yes I can. So the lady said call the store. The following Monday i called and she said, can you come tomorrow? I said no tomorrow doesn't work for me, do you only do Tuesday or Thursday's. She said yes because the gal teaching will be out for surgery so tomorrow was it. I told my friend who had done the work shop the previous Thursday and she said she could go and do the craft for me so I would not be out my money. I told her that'd be awesome. So I called the store back and let her know my friend could do it for me. Her tone instantly changed and she said, No! I can not allow that. I said why not, she said, because she already did the class. I said, well, that makes no sense. She said the class is sold out, I just can't do that. Yes but if she sits in for me what difference does that make? She said it clearly states in the form you do not get a refund. Yes, but i didnt ask for a refund, plus i didn't remember signing up. They could send out emails that you signed up for class, reminding you of said class coming up. This would help because from time of signing up and actually doing the class are not within a few days of each other. Service. I have taken 3 different classes at Mulberry Market. This last class was making a mosaic birdbath. It was $65.00! You, of course, have to pay when you schedule a class. Myself and 2 friends signed up to take the class on May 15th. An issue came up and 1 of my friends had to cancel. The gal she spoke to on the phone said that was okay and there are additional classes coming up she could sign up for. So my friend called today to reschedule and was told that there is a class tomorrow, May 20th. May 20th doesn't work for her and she was told that that's the only option because the instructor was going to have surgery and all other classes were canceled. My friend asked me if I wanted to do the class so she wouldn't loose the $65. I said sure. My friend called back to say that I would do the class for her and she was told no that wouldn't work that I can't take the class in her place. The women on the phone was very RUDE to my friend. I said I've taken classes before so let me call. I called MULBERRY MARKET and spoke with Hannah and she was extremely rude! She said the class was now full. All of this happened within 1/2 hour. She said their policy is to not do refunds. Okay. I'll just take the class again in my friends place. I was told no I couldn't do that it's against their policy. So they don't refund and they don't let someone take their place? It seems like they just got paid $65 for do nothing except being rude on the phone. I am very disappointed and I would not recommend classes at the MULBERRY Market, 17325 E Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99016. Sometimes life happens and you just can't make it to a class.
