That's fine but pizza but the pizza took 1.5 hours to be delivered (they quoted 35 min). The pizza that arrived was not only cold but also the wrong pizza. I placed an order from this restaurant through Deliveroo in which they stated that the restaurant will handle the delivery. Placed and paid for the order at 8:08pm. I "received" the order at 10:09pm, more than 2 hours later. When i saw that the order is getting delayed, i tried contacting Deliveroo and they advised me to contact the restaurant directly. I found their page on instagram and aquifed a number and tried many times to contact them by phone with no success. Then i messaged on instagram and also emailed them as i was unable to contact. Eventually, Deliveroo informed me the restaurant has delivered the food at 10:09 pm, it was a delivery to a hotel, i was waiting in the lobby from 9:30pm and no delivery was made to me or this hotel. Absolutely horrible service and no way to contact them as they are too busy to answer a phone or reply to an email or social media message. Strongly would NOT recommend this establishment! read more

I have been to New York a few times and Mulberry Street is the only place in London I have found to make authentic New York pizzas. Situated on Westbourne Grove among various trendy bars and restaurant- Mulberry Street is a real breath of fresh air. With its black walls and stylish lighting, it may look like an upmarket snobby restaurant but Mulberry Street is far from it. Stepping inside the pizzeria is like walking into a pizza joint in Greenwich village or New York's Soho district. The pizzas served at Mulberry Street are not just delicious they are out of this world- 20 inches of pure heaven.It's difficult to choose a favourite but I would have to say that the New York Hot(spicy pepporoni, green peppers, jalapenos and mozzarella) certainly tops the list. The brunch menu is also very popular and I cannot get enough of the large fluffy pancakes with eggs and maple syrup. The perfect meal for a hangover. I love that they serve root beer which is very hard to track down in London restaurants. If you want something alcoholic Mulberry Street serve a good selection of American beers. Can I get a WTF? For the purposes of this review (and only for this review), I will freely admit to being American, and having eaten my fair share of NY pizza. With that admission out of the way, here we go.... I have no idea what the other reviewers were so impressed by at Mulberry Street! I feel like the size of these pizzas (which are bigger than the British norm) pulled the wool over a few peoples' eyes and they forgot that a pizza has to actually taste like something other than dry cardboard. Which is what my pizza tasted like last night. Blech. This is NOT what New York pizza tastes like (or at least, not what New York pizza tastes like that you eat sober and voluntarily not at 3am). I hate to be a downer, but I've got to agree with Becky F. all the way here. I used to live in New York, so I've eaten my fair share of authentic Famous Ray's and Regular Ray's and Joe's and John's and Lombardi's and Grimaldi's pizza or whatever (usually at 3am, missing a shoe, with makeup smeared all over my face, my dress on backwards, and attached to a mysterious set of glittery balloons, but that's when pizza tastes best, right?) So anyway, the pizza here isn't New York pizza, and that's okay because we're in London and they don't have the same water here, or whatever NYC's current claim to pizza fame is. But the thing is, there's better pizza in London by far, at Franco Manca or Pizza East or a bunch of other places all over town. The bottom crust was soggy rather than crispy, the toppings were insipid not inspired, the pizza took ages, and worst of all, the ricotta in the spinach ricotta pizza was cold and came in little white frosting-shaped turds squeezed out of a pastry tube. Seriously. They belonged on a 4-year old's birthday cupcake, not on a pizza, where cheese should be hot and salty and full of flavour and not shaped like a florette of icing. Anyone who's had an amazing late night ricotta and spinach slice in NYC or anywhere in the world can tell you that, drunk and glittery or not. That being said, Mulberry seems like a great place for big groups and families with kids, who will be entranced by the size of the pizzas and the fact that certain aspects are reminiscent of birthday cakes. It's also probably awesome for people who are not particularly particular about how their pizza tastes, and that's okay too. New Yorker living in London on a quest for good pizza... this did not make the cut at all. £4.5 for a slice of pizza is about $7 for 1 slice... that is ridiculous. With that said, why did it take 25 minutes to heat up a slice of regular pizza? Voodoo Ray's is way better. Still looking though. The product was bland, with the texture of the crust being the only redeemable quality. But the cheese had no flavor, nor did the tomato sauce. I ordered another slice with peppers and at least that masked how bland the important parts were. The restaurant is kind of depressing too. read more

What a pizza! At 20", it's one of the biggest pizzas you can order in London, so make sure you're hungry. We ordered the Sicilian thick crust pizza with a few modifications and were gobsmacked when it arrived at our table. They serve the pizza on a raised silver platter, so it becomes the centre of attention and rightfully so! Other than too much cheese, which makes the pizza oily (I had to dab the pizza with a napkin to get some of the oil off), these pizzas taste like proper New York pizzas. A good depth of flavour to the sauce and really fresh toppings, which made every bite a taste sensation. To avoid total gluttony, we got the rest of the pizza boxed up to take away. It was quite funny walking down Westbourne Grove with a giant pizza box - we got a lot of cat calls and pizza shout outs! : ) read more

Aww, come on New Yorkers, of course it's not New York pizza, but it's a good effort! The restaurant is a fun place with walls covered in Times Square photos even though there aren't any notable pizza places that I can think of actually on Mulberry Street or in Times Square for that matter... and was jauntily blasting Lady Gaga tunes. Agreed with the previous reviewer that the actual food was rather more Italian than American although they did carry Brooklyn Lager. Anyway, I had the lunch special which is on M-F with 2 courses and a soda for £10. I had the garlic bread which was basically like half a pizza bianca -- crust, herbs, and olive oil. I rather liked it. On top of that, I also got a whole mushroom pizza served piping hot with cheese still bubbling. Not quite there, but it had promise. The crust was not crispy at all. They also could have been bolder with the tomato sauce, but it did have that hint of having that legitimate, tomato taste. read more

I was fully expecting this 20" pizza place to be quantity over quality. But I was proved wrong. The dining space is modern and comfortable. We came in a big group and it was great there was a very large table available. We ordered three pizzas: spinach, cheese and tomato (half plain, half customised), and pepperoni. The spinach was really impressive and came with sweet cherry tomatoes and great lumps of ricotta cheese. The cheese and tomato, or "classic" as they call it, gave a chance to sample to pizza sauce which was well judged. Not too sweet, but you could taste the fresh tomatoes. The pizza base was not what I was expecting. It was far more authentic Italian that I would have anticipated from an American themed place. I notice from the other reviews the Americans seem to hate it and the Brits love it, perhaps it is because of this. Good selection of wine and beers. I'd definitely go there again. I would recommend going in groups of at least four so you can legitimately order more than one pizza to get some variety. read more

Went here last week with the boyfriend, as I was really craving some home comforts. I really like how they set up the interior, but I disagree with someone who said that it looks like your typical US pizzeria. Its a bit more modern looking than the ones near me! I was surprised that the pizza was fairly decent. I had an Eggplant Parm slice, and the bf had a Chicken Parm slice. We went for the lunch deal, so with a soda each, we paid only 10 quid in all. I'd definitely rather get a normal slice from here if I go again, because they do the toppings very oddly. I think we're all generally used to the topping being cooked INTO the pizza as its cooking, but no, these guys basically make plain cheese pizzas, and once they're finished, they put the topping on top. I really didn't like that. Also, there IS a better Italian style pizza place around. It's called Italian Pizza Connection, and its also on Westbourne Grove, but just east of Queensway. The pizza is a bit better, and you get more for your money. And the guys who work there are much friendlier than the people at Mulberry Street. read more

This is an American style pizzeria with tables both on the ground floor and in the basement. This is a US chain trying to look like your local pizzeria, or at least what a local pizzeria looks like in the US. The pizza is not bad and is served in one format, very large one to share (or by the slice) for around 3 people (£20). They have large TV screens with sports and cartoons so if you come with kids it's a mixed blessing as they will be quiet during all the lunch/dinner and not really present at all as it is like eating in front of the TV. They also have a new delivery service for W2, W11, W8 and W14, probably a good option if you need a big pizza to share with friends in front of a football game. Oveall not a bad restaurant but nothing really special. Good option for families. read more

Sorry to write but this place was a very Bad Experience. Went in there last night with the other half and had awful service, time and experience. Now I do not not want to sound negative but to have 5 basic things go wrong is Bad and awful. 1. They got the order for the Pizza wrong and advised we would have to wait another 20 mins for another Pizza. Fine. However we were there on a Sunday evening and no one was ordering and we seem to be the only table ordering as everyone else had eaten. 2. The drinks we ordered were taken and not delivered after 15 mins. I am not counting however they advised me to I had to wait for Cream Soda. Did not come. Why advertise? 3. Service was bad and a chef had to ask for waiter to come and serve us. 4. Piece of ice cube went flying pass as staff seemed happy to play fight with all customers watching. Come on guys do this when we have left. 5. Our bill was wrong and had to go back TWICE to fix it. We spend nearly £35 for an awful experience and half the staff understood when I complained. Ordered up my first Mulberry's pie today - totally impressed!! I love Arancina which is right down the road, but I have to say if you are going to order full pizzas for a bunch of mates, Mulberry is the way to go. Arancina is better if you're by yourself and need a quick bite. Price - very reasonable - just under 20 quid for a HUGE 20" with all kinds of toppings Location - right next to my house, but they deliver too Service - take away was ridiculously quick Ambiance - good sized, had the footy match on, bar seats and tables, good looking wait staff, what else can be said? TASTE - perfect - crust was thin and tasty and cooked right. Half was their chicken parm. The little chunks of breaded chicken were awesome, seem fresh made (not frozen/processes), sauce was great and generous amount of mozz. Other half was the spinach, ricotta and cherry tomato white pizza!!! This is the type that nobody else seems to make right. Mulberry's killed it! This place is going to get a lot of business come American Football season (yes, they show games there). read more

I went here last night with my partner and a close friend. This was the 4th time I've eaten here but the first time since they moved location. The last time I went at the old location, they had stopped doing the 20" pies for eat in, so we were delighted to see that that had started this back up again as they are a perfect size for sharing. There is definitely less seating in the new place and there are no booths or actual tables - it is one long "bar" against the window. Luckily it was deep enough where it didn't seem too small. They have a lot of different topping options but nothing overly different than most places. What makes the pizza delicious is the base, which is apparently water ph balanced to match that of the water in New York, so to give it that authentic taste. We were pretty traditional and went for the 20" Margarita with mixed olives on top. It was very tasty indeed! The base is delicious. It is a thin base and is cooked perfectly. The topping ratio is also great. I definitely recommend it and will certainly be going back! read more

Had dinner there with a couple of friends. Service was pretty friendly. The pizzas were quite nice with a good base but not really anything to write home about. The pasta was done perfectly al dente and the sauce was tasty. Didn't have any room for desert though so no idea about that. Not sure whether these prices are normal for London (I'm afraid they might be) but by Berlin standards they're about twice as what you'd expect to pay there and not quite as nice The wine list was failry short but seemed reasonable and our bottle was quite nice. (If possible, I'd give this place 3.5 stars but since I can't select that I'm giving them four as the staff were pretty happy and also brought out plane (tap) water on request). read more

I was attracted to this store because it looked "authentic" and had a big advert outside claiming it was the "Number 1 pizza in the south east". Staff seemed pleasant enough, although it seemed that my native English was not perfectly understood. I ordered the Napoli pizza. Seating was comfortable. The pizza came quickly (well under 10 minutes). It was a quiet Sunday night, but there still seemed to be a fair bit of take-away activity so its good my pizza was prioritized. Pizza itself was fine. The base was light and cripsy, with blackened areas as it should be. A slight chew, although not as much as I like (I'm a big fan of "Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana"). New york-schmoo-york. There was nothing New York about this but that was neither here nor there. Topping was fine. Mozzarella (not buffalo) was generous, and pizza was super salty (as I expected from a Napoli). Perhaps the capers in addition to the standard anchovies/olives was a bridge too far, but that's personal taste. I noticed when reading the menu some small print saying this place was owned "Red Rooster Restaurants Limited". Unless I'm mistaken this place is a chicken fast food chain. This immediately make the place lose authenticity points. I have a sneaking suspicion the brains behind this operation have its sights on creating a new pizza chain. le sigh. Something just felt a little lacklustre about this place. Not bad, just not that great. Maybe it was the mood I was in. Pizza was fine-to-good so its worth giving it a try. December 2010 Quality of the pizzas have gone downhill I have been a patron of mulberry street for some years. I no longer eat in as the service charge does not go to the waiting staff which i disagree with but we do order from time to time. I am very dissapointed with the deteoriation in quality of the pizzas, they used to use good quality cheese and new york style toppings. The cheese is very poor quality now and it actually makes the pizza rather tasteless. Im also not impressed that they no longer seem to use the new york style breaded eggplant which is difficult to get hold of in other restaurants and now doesnt exist on the pizza toppings here either. This isnt serious if you werent attached to it but the quality of the pizza is. Im sure the profit margins have improved with the loss in quality but this regular customer can give them no more chances Im afraid. Please improve. On the service side the delivery men (never had a woman) are always very nice. The staff in the restaurant sometimes have trouble understanding english over the phone but this doesnt deter me. AVOID THIS PIZZA PLACE! I ordered a large 20" Meat pizza over the phone for delivery. It arrived within 12 minutes which I thought was quite impressive. When I opened the pizza box I got an immediate unpleasant whiff. The pizza smelled as if the ingredients had expired. The base was wet and soggy. As I tried to lift up the first slice all the topping fell off the pizza and I was left just holding the pizza base. This was the worst Pizza I'd ever seen and I didn't eat any. The next day I went to the restaurant and I brought the pizza with me. I was told by the front of house staff to throw the pizza away and that they don't need it back. I was told to leave my details and that as the manager doesn't work in the shop I should expect a call back. 2 days passed and still no call from the manager. When I finally got hold of the manager (that doesn't work in the the restaurant in which she's the manager of), she was so rude and said she'd not be giving me a refund as I left the shop with the pizza so I could have eaten it. Apparently I should have left it in the shop. I tried to explain that I was told by a member of her staff to throw the pizza away but she wasn't listening. She continued to speak over me and then hung up on me! If you're into terrible customer service and even worse pizza then this place is for you. If not, I recommend Pizza Hut less than a minute up the road. AVOID THIS PIZZA PLACE! They may have got my £29 for ONE pizza this time but I'd rather go hungry than eat anything from this place again. read more

For the second time, they have failed to deliver a pizza in a reasonable period of time. I ordered tonight at 520pm and was told it would arrive by 6pm. At 620pm I called and was assured it was moments away and then called back at 645pm when the called the ONE driver they had for a Friday night and he said it would be another 30 minutes. Horrible, horrible service which is a shame because the pizza is good. read more

This place is great! I read a terrible review of it in The Times and decided to go anyway and I'm so pleased I did. The pizzas are massive and get put on stands so they're up out of the way (a nice touch!). We had two pizzas between five of us and we walked out with leftovers (that's how big they are), we tried the white spinach pizza and an artichoke and parma ham. Both were excellent, made with lovely fresh ingredients. The interior is done up to look like a new york sports bar and most of the tables upstairs are booths. OK I was born and raised in NY so here's the deal: it's not as good as the best NY pizza places (the seasoning in particular is lacking) but it's EASILY the best pizza in the UK and the closest thing to NY pizza you will find in Europe. They sell by the slice too which is rare (and very American) and the cheese/sauce consistency is all perfect. The marguerita/cheese slice in particular will remind New Yorkers (and others who love NY pizza) of the real thing. The only problem I have is that they don't have the crushed red pepper flakes that go so well with American pizza, there's no bathroom in the pizza place despite it being a sit-down restaurant, and the last time I went they seemed to be doing some work on the kitchen and the pizza they made was REALLY subpar (with everything sliding off the pizza when you try to eat it the way most UK pizzas are). However, I am going to assume that was just a one time thing since every other time I've eaten there, the pizza has been great. In general I'd give the pizza 4 stars but overall for the lack of bathroom and the last experience I had there, I give it 3 stars. read more

What a shame this once-lovely restaurant seems to have changed management. Gone are the 20", authentic NY-style pizzas; they have been replaced with plain, UK-style pizzas with bland crusts. The garlic bread was obviously some garlic and butter on a pre-made pizza base and was as hard as a rock. If anyone has a worse experience ordering a pizza delivery, I would love to hear about it. The £23 pizza arrived, we paid the driver, who promptly left. Unfortunately, half of the toppings of the pizza had slid off and congealed around the edges in a mass of lukewarm congealed cheese. The pizza had clearly been tilted at an angle, why sell 20 inch pizzas if you are not able to deliver them properly? When we complained, the phone receptionist didn't seem too bothered, he just offered to send another pizza and to collect the delivered one, or to send someone to collect the pizza and refund our money, it being 9pm we didn't have time so we just ate the part of the pizza that was still OK and threw half of it away. When I called to explain the problem, the company didn't bother to offer an apology, despite the fact I had ordered from them a few times before. On top of that, the congealed cheese didn't improve from re-heating in the oven and myself and my wife were up all night with severe stomach pains. I will never order from Mulberry Street again, UGH. I would strongly recommend going with Firezze or Pizza Basilico instead. read more
