I was warned by a past patient even before I went for my first visit. I should have listened. Do not let the basic 6-month cleaning reviews fool you. I've been a patient here since 2022, and I am very cooperative, but I have deep dental anxiety. What I personally went through here completely traumatized me. I am not the only one; if you scroll down far enough on Yelp, you'll see that many experienced exactly what I did. Because of this pattern, I will now be contacting the state board of dentistry regarding my care. My first bad experience happened when a front tooth fell out, and Dr. Isaacs suddenly claimed it was a "compromised tooth." He had never once mentioned this to me. as a female and as a person that loves to smile. I would've never delayed on having a crown put on or having tooth fixed as he had just filled a tiny cavity on it. If I would've been told it was compromised, I would've never waited. No one ever wants to lose a front tooth.. If he had actually told me, I would have gotten a protective crown. Instead, he rushed me into a temporary plastic "flipper" appliance that cost me $500 out of pocket, never fit right, and broke almost immediately. the shading of the tooth did not match my own teeth as they did give me a complementary $75 teeth whitening strips.I did not ask for them. They noticed, the assistant did , Not dentist, noticed that the flipper did not match my natural teeth. Even after the teeth whitening, it did not match and that flipper broke within weeks because it was not properly fitted. The response from Dr. Issac's!! "They're not meant to last forever". Didn't accommodate,basically blaming again the patient.The stress was so bad that I delayed going back for months because I was terrified. Pam at the front desk basically gaslighted me after I've had my teeth pulled and stated he's a good dentist isn't he? He's a good dentist isn't he. That's all I will say on that matter.. Last autumn, I finally went back to address two teeth on my right side, fully expecting to receive a standard filling and a crown. Instead, I was told it was "too late" and he extracted both of them. They made another multi-tooth flipper appliance that cost me an additional $Just days after having those two teeth extracted, while my mouth was still bleeding, heavily swollen, and full of active stitches, he forced that new $ flipper into my mouth. I was literally crying and shaking (I am forever grateful for his assistant that held my hand in the room while this was taking place, she was a true angel) in the chair from the sheer pain. Instead of stopping, he just injected my mouth with lidocaine to numb the area to force the appliance in before I left. When I told him it felt like it was going to make my other healthy teeth fall right out, I quote his exact words: "Well then you have something wrong with your teeth."He is the dentist--he is supposed to be the professional who identifies and treats what is wrong with my teeth, not blaming my body for his forceful work and terrible appliances. I take responsibility for delaying care. I will take responsibility for that. With that being said. Who wouldn't delay care after that experience literally traumatized, It scarred me so badly that I never went back and actually had to pull out my own surgical stitches at home. Once the swelling finally went down, not down completely ,enough for me to see the tooth next to the tooth he pulled, I saw a prominent brown spot on the tooth right next to where he did the extractions. I emailed the office instantly.That should have been completely obvious on the X-rays he took. I built up the courage to send them a very polite email asking to come in and have it looked at, again I delayed care because of the trauma, and finally built up the courage months later to reach out only to be completely ignored /ghosted. But the second I sent an email legally and politely requesting my records? They replied within minutes claiming their "internet was "down" all week. But mysteriously their Internet was up and working when I requested my records and they sent promptly. when I say promptly I mean within minutes. Mysterious isn't it. My experience, they ignore you when you are hurting, blame you for their mistakes, and only respond when they are scared of liability. Did I delay care. Yes. As anyone would after an experience like I had. This has been very challenging and difficult for me to have to share such a traumatizing experience, but I feel it's only right to let others know. I should've listened ,past patient when I let them know I found a dentist because our dentist of 20 years had retired. I should've listened so now I'm trying to help others. I am left without a dentist, in pain, and dealing with severe anxiety because of how this office treated me. Avoid this place.

He recently had two crowns crafted for a couple molars, and when they were ready to apply, they fit perfectly. He has a remarkable gift for applying novocain where the injection caused no pain, and when the procedure was completed, like magic, the numbness was no longer present. His staff are all wonderful, extremely helpful, and exude an air of positivity. If I could give more stars, I would.

As a few others said, I'd avoid making appointments with my previous dentist after the primary guy I'd had for years retired ... just wasn't inspired to go. I was blessed genetically with good teeth, & took care of them, so I could procrastinate for a loooonggg time ... until I really HAD to find a new place. Started going in early 2023 when I felt a decades-old filling starting to deteriorate. Had Tanya as hygienist and Nick Catton DDS, & his assistant. Got cleaned up and fixed up in two appointments. Every person at the Carmel office is truly great to see. And now I WANT to go to the dentist, and am maxing out as much as insurance allows -- a visit every six months. I'd actually like to go more often.

The office is always immaculate including the fish tank that tends to keep the kiddos happy. The office staff is also always friendly and helpful. They will provide an estimate before any large work is done. I know if I have an emergency, they'll work me in as quickly as possible and he'll take care of me. He is always gentle and explains what he is going to do to fix my tooth/teeth. I also love that he makes his own crowns, so in one visit I can be done and not need multiple visits. I highly recommend making him your new dentist for all of your needs!

I confirmed that appointment, but was then texted that an "earlier" appointment for February 2 at 7am was available. Knowing that I have two kids in daycare, and that mornings can be difficult, the additional time allotted by the 7am appointment would be far more convenient, as I could be in-and-out before going home to get the kids ready, and before my workday begins. They confirmed the 7am appointment for February 2 at 7am, as per the attached screenshots. I showed up promptly at 7am today, only to find out that they don't start seeing appointments until 8am, and that the 7am was a typo. I had already planned my morning around this, but politely acknowledged the mistake and said I'd be back around 8am. I went home, and as fast as I could, got my two children ready for daycare while my wife was staying home with a stomach bug. Despite my best efforts, and one screaming child, by the time we left the house, it was apparent I'd be arriving later than 8am. I did the responsible thing, and let them know I'd be 10-minutes late. Traffic changed that to 8:16am per Google Maps, so I sent a follow-up ETA. I was then told I needed to "reschedule". I honestly felt this was ridiculous, as I had an already put my children, my wife, and myself through an extremely chaotic morning to try and make their 8am appointment slot, and to be asked to shuffle around my schedule once more was simply unacceptable from a customer service standpoint. To add salt-to-the-wound, I only received a reminder text 48-minutes prior to the 8am appointment. Had this automated message arrived at any time yesterday, I would have had more time to adjust my morning and make the 8am time. It is difficult to have to find a new dentist simply because someone in the office was not careful when quoting a new timeslot. To ask the patient to take the entirety of the error on their shoulders shows extremely poor customer service.

I've been going to Stevenson dental since 2005 and have always been happy with the care I've…read morereceived. They take x rays every year and now take my blood pressure when I get in the chair. I'm sure for people that do not like going to the dentist, this could be an issue, but I don't mind. I've had good interactions with everyone from the front desk, the hygienists, to the Dr. Stevenson himself. He has provided a recommendation for an orthodontist for a retainer and has helped me with it when I was having issues too. I highly recommend checking them out for your dental care needs.
