They would get negative stars if I could…read more Here's the thing that I want you all to know about Stanley Martin. They wanted to withholding the design prices, until we sold our current home. By doing so, they are essentially reserving the right to double, triple, or quadruple that pricing based on the offer!? I have no way to know that I am being offered fair and competitive design prices. e.g. For all I know, they accept my $10,000 offer, and then double all the prices they offer me vs, someone who contracted with $5,000 of design credit. If we were Stanley Martins clients and not their customers, it would be a breach of fiduciary duty. By refusing to simply provide the pricing schedule, my trust has been broken. Great, you can give me a "ball park" figure, what does that mean? You can't ask me to "trust that they will be fair" when Stanley Martin won't agree too basic disclosure. If it's a competitive secret, ask us to sign an NDA, don't withhold crucial information. Along those lines, we were told if we signed a contract we could see the pricing, however immediately upon signing a contract, we were presented not with the pricing, but with a stipulation specifically forbidding it. That is either a communication failure, or a betrayal, depending on how seriously you want to take it. You'll forgive me if I feel betrayed and insulted, I'd expect more honesty out of congress. BEWARE OF THIS BUILDER, I have never heard of this and I've worked with several builder before them and will be after them and no one has ever done something this immoral.
