I wish I could give this shoddy business zero stars!! I called to have my lock reinstalled as I was unable to put it back together myself while attempting to change a code. I explained to the person on the phone as well as the technician who was to be dispatched that this was a very important situation and I did not have a working lock on my door. I waited approximately 2 hours and then called the technician and he stated he was sent out on another job. I called the office and they stated the technician did not want to come out because of the situation. I explained to him that I needed it changed because there was someone I no longer wanted to have access to the home. I called back the office they said there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the owner and they said he wasn't in and he would call me within 2 hours. That was not done. How unprofessional! If you need your lock changed call someone else unless you want to sit and wait on a no-show. Just now,a day later, I called and spoke with a manager who stated the technician called me back within two minutes of initially talking to me. That is a flat-out lie! Noam was the best!! My 1996 Honda Prelude was stolen and I got it back but the ignition was punched. I was doing everything In my power to avoid a costly repair (Mechanic shops were charging up to $500). Searching through Google for mobile locksmiths I found Multi Locksmith and Noam. Noam came out and worked tirelessly to try and repair the ignition. He also took extra time that night to see if another part might fit when the first one he tried didn't. As it turned out, it is very rare to find the ignition but I was very grateful that he spent a lot of his own time looking. Ultimately Noam did find it and he met me at work so that I would not lose time. He was prompt and quickly completed the repair. I recently bought a used car and annoyingly it only came with one key. I wanted the OEM key with integrated switchblade key and door lock/unlock remote so I contacted the dealer and was given a crazy price (I think $400) so instead I bought a blank OEM key online and thought it would be easy to get cut/ programmed. I then contacted several key cutting places and they said they couldn't cut they key (either didn't have the right machine, or wouldn't cut a key they hadn't provided by them bla bla bla...) i called a locksmith company (Ace?) and for some reason a guy from Multi Locksmith came out. He was a sweet kid but he didn't fix the lock. Said it couldn't be fixed. He said the only thing that could be done was to replace the entire two door handles and lock fixture that is inside the door with a new set that were fake brass. I have old Edwardian hard glass door knobs throughout the entire flat so I said no. He charged me 124.00 even though nothing was fixed. I took the entire unit to Clifts Hardware store on Castro. They changed a spring and charged me 2.75. I don't know. the guy "tried" I guess but to say it couldn't be fixed and then I have it working because of a new spring? read more

Last night coming home from work my key decides to break in half like literally and there was no way to drive it to a dealership to get a new key so I started looking up mobile locksmiths and I came across multi locksmith and I requested a quote. Noam got back to me right away, and explained that he would be able to come and replace my key last night or he could come today. He also explained the process of re shelling my key and answered all my questions since I was very nervous because this had never happened before. He gave me a time slot, quoted me a price and he called me when he was about 30 min away, and the process wasn't very long. He was very nice and friendly and he knows what he's doing! I needed a new lockset I had purchased rekeyed, that's all. The technician called and said he would be at my house in about 30 minutes. It turned out to be over 2 hours and he didn't call until I called the office to find out what the hold up was. The rekeying took 5 minutes. I was charged $104 for this including $19 for the house call. Also, I didn't learn until after I had written a check that they only accept cash or credit card. I would never use this company again. All day yesterday I felt cheated, unheard, and taken advantage of - not to mention angry. I was in a tight spot. I was borrowing my father-in-law's car because my daughter is using mine. I don't know the ins and outs of his car, so I locked the keys inside. I called Multi-Locksmith, they quoted me $65 to come out and arrived in 30 minutes. Everything is great. He takes a quick look at my Kia and says $194. I thought he said $64, so I didn't freak out at the time. But then I realize it actually is $194. I'm on the side of the road, I have to go back inside the school and teach, I can't have my father-in-law come out because he recently had a heart attack. I have no choice but to pay. The most nefarious part of all this is that this is Multi-Locksmith's business model. They prey on people who are in a tight spot. When I called to complain, it was like they read me a script. I get the feeling they take a lot of these complaints. I was transferred over to the technician who originally came out (His name is Chris and he seemed very cool). As soon as I started rolling into why I felt the price was unfair, he just started blurting out a wall of words so I couldn't speak. Then he got really excited and went off on karma and God. Fine. Again, I have a Kia. So the really funny part was when he explained that he had to charge more to get past the security system. It's a 2002 Kia. A Kia! It's not a modern BMW 7 class. Oh, and to bypass the security? He literally stuck the key in the lock and clicked it to the left twice. 3 seconds - tops. This entire interaction literally took 2 minutes. I feel that $65 is a reasonable price to pay for someone to drive 25 minutes for 2 minutes of work. A bit steep, but ok. $194 is unreasonable and is taking advantage of people who are stuck on the side of the road. While Chris was defending the price and using his "wall of sound" technique to not let me get a word in, he kept on talking about free-will, God, and Karma. I'm not sure he totally understands what Karma is. I don't wish anything negative on anybody, but until Multi-Locksmiths can prove they don't take advantage of people who are in a tight spot, don't use them. read more

I called these guys to they gave me a quote of $85 plus $29 dollar service fee!!!! $114 wtf???? Thanks god I find Multi Locksmith. I lost the keys of my Toyota Tundra on a Friday evening and didn't have a spare one. I wanted to resolve this immediately and contacted several parties in the Richmond Berkeley area by phone. 45 minutes after contacting Multi Locksmith Noam arrived in a van at the parking where my car was parked and started working. The whole process took about 2.5 hours and was way more complex than I could imagine. The first hour went into creating the key, while the other hour went into programming the car to accept the key. he clearly knew what he was doing and informed me about each step through the whole process. Although there are better ways to spend a Friday evening, it was intriguing to see how he gained access to the car and created keys out of nothing. Even-though the process took longer than expected (each car is a unique case) I did not pay anything extra. No hidden fees, no extra charges. I paid exactly what was communicated during the initial phone call. Because Noam communicated a fixed price, the time he spend did not change anything to the fixed price. I would call these people again! The plastic piece on my car key broke and for over a year I've been taping it to my key ring. Finally it officially came undone and my only single key was gone, with a computer chip that is programmed to start my engine. I had the alarm, but no key to start engine.
