Daniel not only helped us with advice over the phone, showing how to remove the lock by pressing on the cylinder while pulling the key, but - instead of charging us (which he could easily have done) - recommended we follow up with the original locksmith to get the lock tightened via warranty. I was very confused about how I could possibly lock myself out, since the only locking mechanism I ever use is a deadbolt lock - my understanding of that kind of lock, is that it's impossible to accidentally lock yourself out . I had a strange problem with the doorknob of my front door that was quite worrisome. It seemed like the doorknob was locked ... but it really was not. I don't know when the issue cropped up, but I gasped when it was discovered because it was a clear threat to my security - especially as a person living alone.
