I waited through a list of 8 people and when I got to the top i was randomly dropped to number 5 again. I waited again. the third time i was at the top, I went to the adoption center they said my name was nowhere on the list at all. it went on and on! I was there for 2 hours of this. I know that you are underfunded but really--why is this so bizarrely inept and broken? Just make a PAPER LIST and call us, like a restaurant hostess would do. We didn't adopt, but we will from a good organization. And the place we adopt from will also receive our donation money.

I was in a pretty helpless position as I was not due to be home for several days. My son came up with a great idea and checked online to see if our dog had been found and turned in to the RASKC. Sure enough, she was there. My wife went down the next morning, paid the fee and picked her up. She had been well treated, and we are very thankful that they found her and gave her a good safe place until we could come get her. My son said that she was so excited to see him. The print was cushioned by clothing items and he told the person who received the items that there were some fragile items. The worker said he would be careful, but couldn't guarantee how tge items would be handled by others. Sure enough, I saw the watercolor I donated up for sale. The frame and glass were broken by other workers. It is now in a cheap, paint peeled off, wooden frame. I know you all get alot of donations on a daily basis. Might I suggest you treat all items like they were your own? It's a shame that some don't seem to have respect for donated items. I wonder how many other items have ended up being destroyed? I would recommend only because they do have some good items and that's it.

We originally signed up for a specific child and that child aged out of the program then they auto set us up for another one, then another - no specific opportunity on our part in the selection process, we decided to stop. Well - that is VERY hard to do! First off you can't do it in the system - there isn't an Auto stop feature, you are required to call in, then there are scripts about the impact on the person you sponsored to attempt to retain. The call to stop took just over 7 minutes, the chat feature took about 2 minutes. If you sign up here be prepared to have to call in - which is actually nice to deal with a human so I did 2 stars for that.

For the past 10 years I've sponsored a little girl in Haiti. When I initially signed up, I was…read moregiven to understand that I could mail presents. that I would get a photo of her with the presents I sent, that I would be able to email her and get replies, and that I would continue to sponsor her until she was 18. I joined because I wanted the personal relationship this seemed to promise. At first I got photos of her with the gifts I sent her, but soon I didn't get photos unless I sent monetary gifts. No photos were provided when I sent packages through the mail. A couple of years ago they changed her address without informing me. I had made pre-printed address labels, so didn't realize the presents were going to the wrong address until one of my gifts was returned in the mail a year later. I don't know what happened to the other gifts. I sent more packages to the correct address over a year ago, but got no response. This week I got an email that said my child's community has "graduated". They included a film that showed the community has clean water and some sanitary facilities, but not a lot else. I know my child went to school, but don't know if the school will continue, what the children have been learning, or what sort of medical care they may receive in the future. There used to be an email where I could write with questions or complaints, but now I can't find it in their emails or on their site. They provide a number to call. I called and waited on hold. I got an overly chatty but rather glib man who told me my child didn't receive the last few packages I sent, that I should've called sooner, and that they are not responsible for the mail in Nicaragua. (I reminded him that my child is in Haiti.) I went to a lot of trouble to mail these things and am so disappointed. He told me I can send her a final email, but no further letters, monetary gifts or packages. I am really disappointed that this was done with no prior notice. My sponsored child is only 12. I had purchased other gifts to send her and now don't know what to do with them. The whole thing is too abrupt. I feel that World Vision has abandoned both my sponsored child and myself without sufficient advance notice or information. I also learned on this call that they've already discontinued my monthly donation to my child, and transferred it to another child in a different country without my permission. This was not clear in the emails they sent me. I told them to stop the donation as I don't want to repeat this experience. It's probably a better use of funds just to donate to a charity that provides food, education or healthcare without promising a "personal connection." Your money will be better spent, and your sponsored child won't wind up feeling abandoned.

She refused to talk to us or make eye contact, answering a phone call as soon as we walked in. We were trying to see if we could drop off two stray kittens here, and if not, if we could be pointed in the right direction. Someone else steps in and asks the people behind the desk why they weren't helping, they just shrugged and pointed to the woman making a phone call. This person gave us advice, thankfully, but told us that since we took the kitties in, we've "assumed care of them" and need to pay a fee to surrender them. These aren't our cats, so we didn't do that. They told us to go to Seattle Animal Shelter. This was a frustrating experience since we really would love for these kitties to go to a loving home. We thought a place called BurienCARES would be a lot more helpful, but instead we were met with discrimination. I talked to somebody else who had a similar experience trying to drop off a stray kitten, but was treated with sharpness and judgement. I held her and knew I wanted to take her home. I was provided a reasonable sum of money to adopt her and decided to proceed. when I asked what the process would be another employee came in at which time the process was reviewed and I was told the cost would $500 for her (she was a pup)! this was way outside my budget and I certainly would have said yes knowing the outcome of pocket. when my daughter and I mentioned that was not the price quoted we were told that there was nothing they could do. so I left. 1 hour and tears later I turned around and spent money I shouldn't have. "nova" was anticipated to be a small breed (24 pounds or less) wiener mix. Fast forward. "Nova" is now Magnolia/Maggie she is 35-40 pounds and shows every trait of a coon hound. Ending: over paid for a puppy after being quoted a lower price (yes I went back and paid it) that is bigger then I wanted and a breed that doesn't really work in an office due to the whining, howling and need for activity. oh and did I mention that they forgot to send her home with meds for after spay and wanted me to drive back from Yelm to Auburn? nice facility. disorganized. Not willing to follow through in incorrect pricing quotes.
