Decent place to eat Tex Mex. Very friendly servers. They are always busy. They have a hot and mild salsa option. Chips are always fresh.

Pros:They got our order right, and the drive thru folks are friendly. Cons: They served us rancid chips and grocery store tamales. When I complained I was interrogated and never offered any resolution. Whoever I talked to was super confrontational and defensive. Been here a couple of times. Last meal I enjoyed was the chicken fajita salad. The sweet tea is amazing. The inside in clean and crisp. The employees are sweet. I had a pick up order around closing and they allowed a big family to dine in with no worries that closing time was around the corner. They insisted with a smile. I am going to be generous with a 3 star only because the service excelled the food. I was just passing through and went based on Yelp reviews because I had some time to kill. The place is very clean and cute and they have great COVID-19 protocols in place. They have a sanitizing station and free mask for customers who do not walk in with them. I noticed that most people in this community do not wear mask although all restaurant staff had mask on. Now for the food the chips salsa and guacamole were all on point yet the entrees were lacking. I ordered a full order of the Beef Fajita Nachos which was just a messy plate of chips and and Queso with little meat. I prefer individual chips with all the goodies that can be eaten by hand instead of a mess of Chips, Queso and beef mixed in that needs to be eaten by a fork. We also ordered a Quesadilla that was also a messy plate with Queso poured over it and needed to be eaten by a fork instead of triangles of tortillas that can be eaten as a finger food. Our waitress was extremely friendly but I always find that refreshing among everyone when visiting small East Texas towns. I am glad I stopped in but most likely will pass by next time I'm in town. read more

Came to Munchies for dinner with our big family. We haven't been here in over 20 years!!! We used to live in the area north of Silsbee and this was our go to for good Mexican food. I must say that the food is still very good and maybe even better than it was back then!!! The Queso was really great! The chips are still really fresh and crispy, and now they serve two heat levels of salsa!!! The one on the metal cup with the plain lid is very mild, even my 7 year old loved it!! The one in the metal cup with the little chimney on the lid is the"HOT" salsa, and I loved it. A few at our table mixed the two to their level! I had the Munchies Ole' dinner with a crispy beef taco, bean tostada, and a tostada chip with queso, and also a small dollup of Guacamole. This was followed by a hot plate of two cheese enchiladas, a tamale, sand beans and rice! My wife has the bowl of the Flameado with beef fajita meat in it served with three flour tortillas. We also had sweet tea to go with our meals. Our 7 year old had the Chicken Rings with French fries. He was very happy with what he had. Our waitress was on top of her hand and I wish I would have got her name. She was very prompt at taking our drink orders and getting us menus! She came right back with our drinks and asked if we wanted appetizers. My sweet mother in law ordered 3 large bowls of Queso for our dinner party of 11 I believe it was!!! She came right back with the chips and salsas and then brought out the Queso!!! She then took our food order and it wasn't long before my cold plate came out with my tacos! I asked if she could substitute a taco in place of the bean tostada and she said it wasn't no problem! Happy me! I love tacos!!! She came back frequently with refills on tea and other drinks as well as bringing fresh chips!!! All in all we all had a great time and enjoyed our meals and the friendliness of our great waitress! The Urbina's who own it have also remodeled the inside very tastefully with aquariums and really nice pictures they have taken themselves! It was a very nice visit, and again great food!!! read more

The food is always good at munchies! We enjoy the flamingo ole, christo dinner, and our son loves their chicken rings when we go. They have great salsa, served both mild and hot in case you like to spice things up! The servers are always kind and attentive. Refills keep coming. in my opinion and I'm just one person but the owner of munches is the most disrespectful rudest man I have come across. he is very unprofessional. I have never been so embarrassed before. and if you know me I don't get embarrassed. but this went far and beyond his duty. I was meeting friends to eat at his restaurant Sunday 7/14/24 after church. it was packed with people eating. I went to sit where he told me to sit and waited on my friends. out in the front dining area was where it was packed. I looked in the back dining area and there were several open tables. and there were people coming in and lining up waiting. the owner went to seat the couple with a disabled person with them in a wheelchair. by this time people were getting up and paying for there lunch and leaving. that made more empty tables. remember the back dining room had several empty tables that would have accommodated a large wheelchair. there was absolutely no rook where I was sitting. anyway he looked at me and wanted my table. everyone in the restaurant saw what he did and heard him ask for it. I just got up and said I'm leaving got up and dashed out. he could have set them in the back and I know they would have been more comfortable. no, he wanted a table someone was already sitting at so he could sit them there. my money is just as good as theirs. I knew the people being seated ani have empathy for disabled people. I thought about asking them if they wanted to sit with me. the table was as small as a card table with only 3 chairs. it was crowded and I was waiting on friends. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM EVEN WITH ME GONE. SO WATCH OUT YOU MIGHT GET KICKED OUT. why did you do that to me. you don't know what might have already happened me that day. but yet you choose me out of all the other people. why??? you can not treat people that way. Had lunch here, prices were good so i didn't even feel the need to order off the lunch menu, but the prices were not great. Started off with a small queso for $6.49 which i can say was worth the price. Best queso i've had in the area. Chips were great, thin and crunchy, perfect. Shared quesadillas which were different but good, topped with queso, tomato, grilled onions and bell pepper, chose to get no tomatoes and sub corn tortillas for flour which was a dollar but well worth it. Got fajita beef which could have been spiced up a little bit, kind of lacking. Overall great experience, our server Monique was very sweet and quick. I've had multiple bad experiences at Munchies Ole. First time was about 10 years ago. My order was wrong and when I took it back the owner would not refund my money or make my order right. So I just stayed away for 10 years. The other day my girlfriend gets me a Togo order with no tomato. When she brings it to me and you can tell it had tomato on it but someone picked them off with their fingers. There were tomato seeds still on it and I'm highly allergic. My friend grew up in Silsbee and has great memories at Munchies. She took me there and reminded me not to have high expectations since we have tons of Mexican restaurants in our town to pick from. The chips, salsa and queso were all good. You get 2 choices of salsa: mild or hot. The staff and owner was both helpful and friendly. I ordered the fajita taco salad from the weight watchers menu. If you want consistently great Mexican food, here 'ya go! If dining in, you'll enjoy quick service, lots of windows, and fish tanks with tropical fish and seahorses! If you're a "regular", they will remember you. They have unique dishes in addition to the regular items you would see at any Mexican food restaurant. I enjoy what I call the Mexican Beef. It consists of tender beef fajita pieces served over rice with (I get) queso on top. It's like a party in your mouth! The large portion allows me to take home lunch for the next day! Also, if you're a tamale lover, the Tamale Plate with 3 tamales drowned in queso, beans and rice - ah, to die for! The chips and salsa (choice of mild or hot) are always great, as is the guacamole. One of the best things about Munchies is if you're on your way home from work, just call in your order and drive through to pick it up! The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. My daughter and I recently stumbled upon the best kept secret in Hardin County! We walked through the front door only to be greeted by the Owner and a friendly staff! The cozy Restaurant was decked out in a fun Cozumel Beach theme. We ordered the Homemade Guacamole and Queso dip! So good!!! We then ordered the Chimmy Changa and Tacos for our lunch. So good ! The food is consistent. Not the greatest but mid to fair. The hot sauce and queso are what keeps me coming back. And that fact this is my husband's favorite place in town. Fair warning, the wait staff turn around seems pretty high. Not the place for us. Service was just fine but there was nothing special about the food. They provided a "spicy" and regular salsa but no difference noted in the two. I have been going here since I was in highschool, I am now 46, always had great food and great service! Until recently! The menu has changed alot and shrunk, also nothing spicy on the menu until u add jalapeno, however they did add "Street Tacos" to the menu and they where awesome. You got 4 good sized tacos for a little over 11 bucks, but then they changed that now you get only three rather small tacos for a little less than 11 bucks. Not a good change. Also they got new signs out front and all new interior inside, so I guess they are trying to pay for the new things by reducing portion sizes. Not good! Always loved this place....sad to see it going down hill!!! Also when you ask for ketchup they bring you the small little packs that you have to fight to get open, instead of a bottle you could easily pour. Another thing when I ask for extra sour cream I swear it can't be more than a table spoon and they charge like a dollar for it. I know they just changed the menu but they need to change it again get some flavor on it and up the portions. I don't mind paying but want to fill like I am getting what I payed for.
